Today at Stampin' Royalty we are having a color challenge!
These colors made me think of flowers and one of the best flower stamp set around is the new Lotus Blossom set from the Sale-A-Bration collection. This is a stamp set you can get for free when you place a $50 product order! It has 3 stamp image that you stamp to create the blossom which is what makes have so much depth and texture. They are really easy to line up because the set is photopolymer, meaning the rubber is clear. Also, Stampin' Up! has add a directional "arrow" to each image making it even easier.
The lay out from this card came from the Annual Catalog, page 119, the card on the top right. There are so many great samples in the catalog, I like to look there when I need an idea, I find something I like and use what I have to create a card.
The ruffle at the bottom of the card was made with our Filter Paper. It is a little thicker than tissue paper and very sturdy. I cut off a strip of it and sponged it with Calypso Coral ink until is was the color I wanted. Then I gathered and stuck it down to the back of my photo frame, which I had run a line of Fast Fuse to. It held the crepe paper really good.
For the watercolored wash background I started with Shimmer White paper and picked up ink from the lid of my stamp pad after squeezing my stamp pad so the lid touched the pad with my Aqua Painter and brushing it on the card stock. The shimmer paper is great for this technique as it does not absorb much water.
Here are the products I used to make this Lotus Blossom card:
