I could not post to my blog with out a cute sample.  I made this ornament out of a CD and used the Super Sized Snowflake from the Holiday Mini Catalog and the Cerise Designer Series Paper. To make the paper Red and Pink I simply brayered over the Red Cerise Paper with Pretty in Pink classic ink!  Then I adhered the paper to the CD with Crystal Effects. 

I stamped the Supersized Snowflake with Versamark ink on Pretty in Pink Cardstock and embossed it with Iridescent Ice powder.  Then I cut it out with my Paper Snips, and used an exacto knife for the center diamond shapes. 

The small snowflake is from the In The Spotlight Hostess Stamp Set, I stamped it in Versamark on Real Red Cardstock and embossed it with Iridescent Ice powder as well.  I did not have to cut this one out though!  I just punched it with the Snow Blossom Punch!!  I added a Red Rhinestone to the center and popped that with a Pop Up Glue Dot. 

I put a 1/2" circle of Pretty in Pink cardstock where I wanted to put the ribbon and punched a hole in the CD with the CROP-A-DILE.

The back of the CD is also covered with a different pattern from the Cerise Paper that was brayered with Pretty in Pink as well.

Peek-a-Boo Box

These adorable boxes are one of the projects that we made at my stamp clubs this month.  I think they are so cute! 

It is a really easy pattern.  If you email me I will send you the pattern, then you can print out two boxes on the cardstock of your choice.  The are as fun to make as they are to fill and give.  You can see in the second photo, when you open the lid it reveals a window, so you can peek in a see the gift!  The opening is covered with a window sheet to create the window and I stamped that with White Staz On and a Snowflake from the Snowburst Stamp set in Stampin' Up!'s Holiday Mini Catalog.  I put a stamp and a little envelope in my boxes.  These are little gifts I am offering to my customers who would like to have a *PARTY* in January!  Not only do you get to keep the box and stamp but inside the mini envelope there is a gift certificate for *ADDITIONAL FREE SU! Portland Stamp Camp

I thought you might like to see what I was up to in Portland.  I have a group of followers, I mean customers, in Portland and since I was going up there for Thanksgiving, why not do a Stamp Camp!  The stamp camp was themed "Framed Art".  Each person got to make a name frame as well as a family frame.  I got a few pictures, we were so busy stampin' that I did not get pictures of everyone and not even one picture of the awesome family frames!

This is Lauri, she made her name frame for her sister, who's last name is Meng and loves angels.  The coolest part about her frame is that she stamped on the glass with White Staz on.  You can see it if you look close,  an angel in each bottom corner and the saying in the middle.  There is also more detail on the letters that is hard to see in this photo.  This was Lauri's first time stamping!  We were so proud of her!  And I think she had a good time!

This is Lucy!  She made her name frame for her new home.  She is soon to be married.  I loved the clean, crisp and classic look of her frame, and of coarse it is Chocolate Chip so I love that!  This was Luci's second time stamping and she really seems to have a nack for layout and accessorizing.  I love the center accent she created with the Hodgepodge Hardware and little ribbon scrap!  She is a joy to be around!  Here is a close up of her frame.                                                                 

This last picture is my friend Jodi! This is a great story.  Jodi and I went to High School together in Redmond, OR.  We actually lived in Sisters, OR, but since our town was so small and did not have a High School we had to go to Redmond.  My family moved to Boise, ID at the end of my Jr. year and Jodi and I lost touch.  This summer Jodi found me on My Space!  She lives near Portland, so when I went to Stampin' Up! Regional Seminar in Portland in September we met up!  It was great.  We have so many fun memories! 

So, when I knew I was coming down again, I invited her to come stamp with us.  She had been to one Stampin' Up Party before, but this was her first real attempt at stamping.  She is just like me and pays close attention to the details, is that a nice way of saying, anal about getting things JUST RIGHT, maybe, but I do not see it as a bad thing! Her home as a Western feel and this Bravo Burgundy and Chocolate Chip name frame is going to look great.  Check out the close up, she has a Linen Background behind each letter and distressed the edges of each letter and the Burgundy mat is is on, using the cutter kit.                         

It was so much fun making these fun projects with my Portland girls!  I wish I could have taken more pictures.  The family frames were SO cute, each person made a version of this frame with there own family in it, or as a gift for another family.  We had some with NINE family members and they put theirs in a longer frame (same frame used for the name frame).

And I have to give a BIG SHOUT OUT to my customer, Cindy, who was my go to gal getting this stamp camp planned!  She collected the registration fees, was my cheerleader in getting new people excited about coming, booked the room, got tables and chairs rounded up, drove to 5 Walmart's to get all the frames we needed and MORE!  She rocks and I think I need to hire her to be my PR girl!  THANKS CINDY, YOU ROCK!

I'm still here!

I was on vacation for the Thanksgiving Holiday!  My family went to Portland, Oregon to visit my sister and her husband.  It was a great trip.  The only sad part was that I was unable to use my lap top at her house, which meant I was unable to update my blog, since all my photos were on it.  Long story, but I am exited to share some fun stuff again on my blog! 

Just before Thanksgiving I had my Holiday Stamp Camp here in Boise, ID.  It was great fun as my best friend and upline put this camp on with me.  We had some GREAT projects!  This is one of them.  This is the  Christmas card I planned. I am in love with this wrapping paper, anything with Chocolate Chip is on my favorites list!  I got this idea for this fold at Stampin' Up! Regional Seminar.  You can see in the close up how the snowflake image folds open up and then the bottom brown flap opens down. 

To accessorize this card I had to use the Chocolate Satin Ribbon, love it!  It is so soft, I would love it if was in the Spring/Summer Collection.  I also added a piece of silver cord over the satin ribbon.  The snowflake is from the Snowburst Stamp set and is stamped with Night of Navy Craft ink and embossed with Hologram Highlights embossing powder.  The Merry Christmas stamp is from the Holidays and Wishes Set.  The corners of cardstock where punched with the Ticket Corner Punch. 

I am really feeling Christmasy now as we have had some snow here in Boise the last couple of days, time to crank out my own Christmas cards.  I plan to work on them Sunday, after church of course, with some girl friends.  I will post photos of my Christmas card then.  Happy Stampin!

Christmas Cutie

I am so excited about this card,  I do not know if someone had put a Santa hat on her before, but I thought of this all on my own.  And when I do that I am so pleased with my self! 

This is a "dressed up" version of one of the cards we are making at my stamp clubs this month.  I added the chipboard snowflake, red gingham ribbon and added the old olive layer to the back of the card, for my dressed up version.

The simple version is just as cute, and sometimes you need a quick and cute card, but other times you like to add all the extras!  Well, at least I do!  The fun thing about this card is that it uses the technique - MASKING for the hat.  This is how I got the hat on her head:

1. Stamp the hat towards the top of the cardstock.

2. Stamp the hat on a separate piece of copy paper, cut it out and brush on some 2 way glue to the back.

3. Once the 2 way glue is dry it will now make that piece work like a post it note, so you can stick it down on top of the hat you stamped on the card stock and it will peal off nicely when you are done!

4. Once the copy paper hat is in place on top of the already stamped had, stamp the girls head.

5. Peal off the copy paper hat and it looks like one image was stamped and she is wearing that hat! 

Try it you will love it! 

I also paper pieced her dress.  I stamped the dress on Dashing paper, cut it out and mounted it on the cardstock, under her head.

She is just SO cute!

Teneale Chapton, one of my customers and dear friends!  She is in my stamp club and when she came last night she showed me this card that  she is making for her Christmas cards this year! 

I loved it and asked her to be my Guest Blogger, cause I wanted to share this cute card with all of you! 

My favorite thing about this card is the use of the In Colors, Soft Sky, Wild Wasabi and Purely Pomegranate!  The images are from the retired stamp set Sparkling Season, what a cute set!  The large ornament is stamped in Wild Wasabi, cut out and popped with a dimensional.  The candy cane is stamped with Purley Pomegranate, cut out and she added a piece of Wild Wasabi stitched grosgrain ribbon and popped that as well.  The saying is stamped with Whisper White ink on Purely Pom cardstock.  The light bulbs to the side are stamped with the Wasabi and Pom ink as well.  She added sparkle to the card with 2-way glue and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.  I love the ribbon element on this card, it is the Purely Pomegranate Satin Ribbon and the Wild Wasabi Stitched Grosgrain.  The Satin ribbon is so soft and shiny, it gives your card and touch of elegance!  It is great for all paper projects and for wrapping gifts!  You will love it, if you don't have some yet you will want to get yours before the end of November, as it is a limited time product!

Chipboard Orniment Card

I have been a stampin' fool these last few days, I am home bound with a cold!  That gives me lots of time to work on cards for my Chipboard display.    It is kinda weird stamping snowy and Christmas cards when the weather is just gorgeous here in the Treasure Valley, but it is getting me in the mood for the Holidays and Snow! 

The chipboard piece in this card is the circle that the snowman is mounted on.  It came from a left over piece from this card.  I punched a hole in it to make it with my Crop-a-Dile to make it an ornament.  Then I applied Real Red Craft ink to the entire circle and embossed it with my favorite powder, Iridescent Ice!   The snowman is from the Merry and Bright Stamp set in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini Catalog.  He is so cute, I stamped him on glossy white cardstock with Basic Black ink and colored him in with Real Red, Certainly Celery and Old Olive Markers. I cut him out with my Paper Snips and mounted him on the ornament with a Pop Up Glue Dot.  I used Silver Elastic Cord to finish off the ornament.  The Designer Paper I used behind him is  Cerise and Certainly Celery Prints.  I also used the Polka Dot back ground stamp on my cardfront inked with Old Olive.  The Merry and Bright saying is stamped on Glossy White Cardstock as well and then I inked the entire piece of paper with Versamark and embossed it with Iridescent Ice powder to add some more *sparkle*!  To top off my card I added Real Red 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon.  I just LOVE that 5/8" ribbon, it is very high quality and makes me feel like my card is very special when I use it!

ChipBoard Family

Here is a sample for a Chipboard Display I am working on.  I am loving my new All in the Family Stamp set! 

This is also I good time for me to tell you that during the month of November, Stampin' Up! is donating all the worldwide sales of this  stamp set to the "David Abbott Family Fund".  David was the General Manager for Stampin' Up! Australia, who recently passed away from a rare blood disease.  So, not only will you be getting a great stamp set, but you will also be helping a family in a time of need, and that is what the Holiday Season is all about. 

Here are the details of my card.  First I punched out 4 (1-3/8") circles from Glossy White Cardstock.  Then I stamped a family member on each circle with Basic Black and colored them in with the markers: Regal Rose, Certainly Celery, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip.  Next I took the Chipboard frame from the On Board Accents and inked it with Chocolate Chip Craft ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  Then I repeated the embossing to give it a more shinny finish.  I then laid that down on the Certainly Celery background piece and traced the open circles with pencil, so that I would know where to place my punched out family pieces.  I adhered the family pieces to the traced circles with snail. Next I added eyelets to each corner using my Crop-a-Dile, it punches through the chipboard like it is tissue paper!  I adhered my frame with Pop Up Glue Dots.  For my saying I used the Happy Everything Stamp Set on Certainly Celery Print Pattern Designer Paper,  and stamped it with Chocolate Chip Craft ink and clear embossing powder so that my saying would have the same shinny look as the frame.  Lastly, I punched the corner of my saying with the ticket corner punch as well as my Regal Rose mat, and adhered that to my card with snail.  The card it self is Chocolate Chip cardstock.

Holiday Wall Hanging

This fun Holiday Wall Hanging was demonstrated by Linda Hansen at Stampin' Up's! Regional Seminar.  I loved it and had to come home and make it.  So yesterday my stamping friend Britiney and I got together and spent the day making one of our own.  It only took the day cause we chat a lot, we had our kids there, lunch, I dropped one of the CD's loaded with crystal effects on my pants!  So, if you want to make one it does not need to take all day!      

Okay, Let me explain this fun project to you!  Each circle is an altered CD!  They are covered with Designer Series Paper.  All you do is spread some Crystal Effects on the CD, lay it on a 6x6 piece of DSP, trim and sand each piece.  On the Fall side I used the Fall Flowers DSP. The letters are all Chipboard from the On Board Simmon Upper Set.  The are inked with Chocolate Chip Craft Ink and embossed with clear embossing powder, to get the best effect repeat this embossing process one more time.   Here is a close up of the Letter F.

You can see here the cute accent images from the Autumn Harvest Stamp Set.  Each image was stamped with Chocolate Chip Craft Ink and embossed with clear powder. Then I watercolored with an Aqua Painter and Classic Ink.  For the glittery look, I colored each image with the versa marker and embossed it again with Iridescent Ice Embossing powder.  To adhere the letters I used Pop Up Glue Dots.  To adhere the accent images I used demensionals, I stacked some to make them higher than the letter, for the images that are flat on the CD I used sticky strip.  For the images that are need to be stuck to the letter I used Crystal Effects.  The best part about this project this that you flip each CD to reveal a Christmas wall hanging!  To hang it on the wall you need a wrought iron bar,  I have yet to find mine, but was to excited to share this and did not want to wait till I did to post it!  I had so much fun making this.  The ribbon I used  to hang each CD is Certainly Celery 5/8" Grosgrain.   The ribbon is thread through a Jumbo Pewter Eyelet, using your Crop-a-Dile it is super easy to punch a hole for the eyelet right through your CD!  The DSP on the "N" CD is Cerise paper.  The letters on the NOEL side are inked with Whisper White Craft Ink and Embossed with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder.  The stamped accents are from the Merry & Bright Stamp set.  They are all stamped with Basic Black ink.  Rudolph was watercolored with Chocolate Chip ink and his nose was created with Crystal Effects and Romantic Red Glitter.  Ribbon accent on "N" is Wild Wasabi Double Stitched Grosgrain.

I actually used Apple Cider DSP for the "O" and "L" CD's.  The Wild Wasabi sheet is a perfect match to the Cerise paper!  I used 5/8" Real Red Grosgrain to accent the "O".  The snowman's hat is paper pieced with the Dashing DSP and the "ball" on top is accented with Crystal Effects and Romantic Red Glitter. I stripped his scarf with a Real Red Marker.  I used yet another DSP on "E", Dashing, it is my personal favorite!  The tree is watercolored with Wild Wasabi and Certainly Celery and then I added Dazzling Diamonds glitter with a 2 way glue pen. You can see my stacked demensionals really good on this photo.  The ribbon on "E" is Red Gingham, so cute!                                               

Here is the Last letter!  The accent image used here is from the Perfect Presentations set.  I stamped it on a piece of Dashing DSP, punched it and mounted it on a Real Red punched circle.  I also stamped the image again on certainly celery and punched it out with 1/4" circle punch. Layered it all up!  The ribbon is Certainly Celery grosgrain. 

That was like the worlds longest post!  But I worked on it while watching the Boise State Bronco's BEAT San Jose State, maybe that is why it took me so long!   Anyway, hope you enjoyed the NOVEL and are inspired to create something with Designer Paper and Chip Board!   If you are interested in making this project I would love to get together with you and some friends to create them.  Email me for more details: [email protected] .

Dashing Moose Card

I guess I really needed to stamp this morning, because once I started this card I could not stop!  I started this card with the Oval made out of Dashing Designer Paper, I had several left over from my photo card and of course I saved them all to make something later. 

This is a Z-fold card.  The base is a 4 -1/4 x 11 piece of card stock, it is then folded in half to create a traditional card, to create the "Z" just fold the front flap back and in half.  Then your card opens like a "Z".  I added lots of extras to this card, it was so much fun.  I am working on making a display of Chip Board for an upcoming group meeting and so it was a must that have a chip board element on this card.  You can see it in the top left corner, with my saying from the So Many Sayings Set.  I added a mini library clip to it, it is the first time I have used those, FUN! I made the scalloped oval with my coluzzle, slit punch and 1/8" circle punch.  The moose is from the Moose You Stamp set, I LOVE him!  His hat is from the Crab and Co. Stamp set that is currently on the dormant list and will reappear in the Spring/Summer Collection Catalog.  The hat actually goes in the opposite direction, so I had to reverse it by stamping on solid rubber and stamping it again.  I accented the hat and made the snow with Liquid Applique and Dazzling Diamonds glitter.  The ornaments hanging from his antlers are made with the 1/4" circle punch, a tiny piece of silver cs, wire works, crystal effects and Romantic Red Glitter. I used the River Rock Double Stitched Grosgrain and Red Gingham Ribbons to top it all off.  This card was a lot of fun, cutting out the Moose was the most time consuming part of the card, oh mercy that tail!  But I don't think it bothered me as much as it did the Moose, he told me that was the only time I could do that to him and I agree!  Hope you enjoy my Moose creation.
