Happy Valentines Day! We have been having a fun day! My daughter and I made a Hand stamped Valentines Day card for Grandma and Papa and then made some cookies for Papa and our neighbors, so I thought I would share with you all the Valentines projects and photos that I have not shared with you yet or that I took today!
Here's my girl, putting ribbon on part of our card. Did not get a chance to take a photo of the card before giving to Grandman, oops!
Not only did she help me make the cookies, she helped me clean up too! And, I have to say this recipe is the BOMB. If you need a killer cookie recipe email me!
The two boxes in the back are Vday gifts for our neighbors, hope they get them before they see this! The hold the FABULOUS cookies and some peppermint patties, that have been dressed up with my So Many Scallops set and Scallop Circle punch. The can in front was an olive can, opened with the Pampered Chef can opener, which breaks the seal of the lid from the can so you can clean the can, and put treats in it and reseal using crystal effects! In mine are the same dressed up peppermint patties as in the boxes. See the close up photos below for more detail.
This is a close up of my treat box. I got the idea from Cambria Turnbow. I love her stamping! It is perfect for my goodies! And not too hard!
Well, this is not the greatest picture ever! But you can see the cute scalloped flowers in three colors, each covers a peppermint patty. With a solid card stock scallop on the back. Almost too cute to eat!
Here's the cute little can. Any 4 oz. can will work. We did these for my stamp club this month and used green chilies cans, so now we are having MEXICAN food for a while, hehe! Simple and CUTE! I am giving this to another friend, can't say who, I know she is out there!
I know, this is not a hand stamped item, but if you read my blog 2 days ago you saw the Heart Shaped box that I altered. I told you how I was going to put a bracelet in it for my mom, since she can not eat chocolate (allergies). Well, I had to tell you about this bracelet real quick, every one needs a heart warming story on Valentines Day. See the square, silver and pink beads... they belonged to my Grandma on a bracelet she had. I loved this bracelet and commented on it when ever she would wear it. Well, Grandma went home to heaven in December. When my mom came across the bracelet she knew I would love to have it. I was thrilled to have it, however it was way to big for my wrist. So I took it apart. I used some of the square beads to create this bracelet for my mom along with other beads that I had on hand. I will also make the same bracelet for my self so that my mom and I have matching bracelets with a special memory! I gave it to her today, she came to have lunch with us and she really liked it and that we could both have one!
Another Stamp club project from last month. It holds a treat. However, I am not giving this one away, the chocolate inside did not make it! Not sure what happened, but when ever I watch the Biggest Loser, I have to have a snack! At least I shared it with my hubby! To see how it works, check out the side view photo below.
See how it is full of KISSES, I know, who can resist kisses! Not me, obviously! If you look close you can see the Velcro closure. I totally came up with this one on my own. Love it when the light bulb goes off and then the project actually works out like it did in your head.
Lastly, a simple, fast pocket valentine card, some of you made this at my January Stampin' Mania. The pocket is made from an envelope. Seal your envelope, turn it on it's side and trim off and inch. Voila, you have a pocket, stamp it up add a pull out and off you go!
Happy Stampin' Hope you enjoyed the smorgasbord of Valentines Day photos and that even if you honey messed up this Vday, find something that will brighten your day for yourself! Sometimes we women have to give our selves what we want. Since my hubby is gone for a work training, I am making a yummy dinner; Lemon Rosemary Chicken and Roasted Veggies and then plan to take my daughter to Baskin Robbins for my FAVORITE ice cream; Peanut Butter Chocolate. Sounds like a great ending to my self made Happy Valentines Day!

Once again, wonderful projects, but your story of the bracelet is absolutely wonderful & very touching! How meaningful for both of you to share a special memory of your Grandmother!! My Grandmother passed this Summer in July at the age of 97. It was a complete shock to all of us. She had just celebrated her birthday at the end of June. She was quite the story teller & talked about growing up in complete detail. I was very fortunate to receive so many items of hers that are very special including some jewelry pieces. Now I know what I can do to update them but still have them as a special memory of her. She was very special to all of us!
Thanks for the idea of preserving her jewelry,
Ann <3
