Strawberry Basket

I saw this cute little basket on a wonderful stampers blog, Dawn Griffith.  I loved the strawberry on it and plan on putting some yummy strawberry candies in it, but for now I used what I have, some peppermint patties left over from my Easter creations.

This will be one of my stamp club projects for the Month of April.  I thought it could be a May Day basket if you like.  I have made these baskets before for Easter, but they will work for any gift, just change the colors and stamping.  I added the dots to the center of the flowers with the White Gel Pen. 

This Tart and Tangy set from the Occasions Mini is lots of fun.  And the price is just right, only $12.95!

Card Maker's Club

My Monthly Card Maker's Club is coming up on 3/27!  I have just a few spots open!  If you are interested in attending please email me!  We will be making 5 cards.  And, this is one of them!!!  It is a tea cup card that holds a tea bag, perfect for a get well card!  I got the idea from one of the fabulous stampers in my Stampin' Up! family, Laura Bowen.  She demonstrated and made this tea cup as a full size card at our last demonstrator meeting.  It was super cute!  As she was demoing it I said to my friend Georgie, I should make that for my card maker's club, it is so fun.  And she said, you could shrink it down and put it on a card.  THAT, I LOVED. So thanks ladies!  This is the card I made using your FABULOUS ideas. 

The color combination is so striking.  It is Pumpkin Pie and Purely Pomegranate.  It will be a great card to give to a friend with the flu or a bad cold.  I know I would have LOVED it when I was sick only a week ago!

Easter Buckets

Can you believe Easter is Sunday.  I think they need to start designing Easter dresses with sleeves! In Idaho it is not quite sleeveless dress weather.  But of course we suffer through, to look cute and springy! 

Speaking of Cute and Springy!  How about these cute buckets.  I originally got them for my daughters Art group to decorate for Easter, I had to get a couple for me to decorate with  my RUB ONS! 

I made these cuties for prizes at my Punch a Bunch Stampin' Mania class.  I thought I would announce on my blog who won them! 

The green one goes to....... Suzan Raney!  Yeah!  She will get it when her stamp order arrives.  Here are some more pictures.

Here is the Rub On view.  I love how the Sale-A-Bration Rub Ons came in Old Olive and Chocolate Chip.  And the Olive Rub Ons look so nice on this Celery Colored Bucket. 

Here are the treats.  The scallop circles w/ chicks cover the peppermint patties. The chick is from the "A Good Egg" stamp set.

I colored the chicks with my Stampin' Write Markers,  I just love them the coordinate perfectly with my card stock!  The chicks are colored with Barely Banana and Summer Sun and the shell is Certainly Celery and Old Olive.  I added the polka dots with the writing tip of my  Old Olive Marker.

I used the White Gel Pen to add the dots to my scallops, a very easy technique to add a little extra dimension to your project!        

Here is the smaller purple bucket, and the winner of this bucket is...... Shawna Ramos!!!  Not only did she win the bucket, buried beneath the easter grass is a gift certificate for a free punch!  Yeah, Shawna!  She also, will receive her prize with her stamp order!

Pink or Blue

So I bet you are all wondering what color of ribbon I will be giving away, see yesterday's post if you are not sure what I am talking about. 

Well, I had my ultrasound appointment today.  The ultrasound itself lasted about 1 hour.  We saw everything and it all looked great.  So then we took a peek to see what is the gender... this little one would NOT cooperate!  The legs were crossed, the cord was there and hands and it is a giggly little baby!  SO, I still have no idea!  Can you believe that!  I was so irritated! 

However, since this little one is so wiggly they did not get all of the pictures of the spine that they wanted so I will get another chance next month!  So keep your guesses coming and I will still draw out a winner!  This pregnancy was such a surprise I don't want to wait till delivery to find out the gender!  So, hopefully I will not have to! 

That's all for now, I am going to work on a stamping related post now.

Stamps: Lots of Thoughts SAB set, Three for You Punch Box set

Ink: Basic Black

Paper: Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White and East Coast Prep DSP. 

Accessories: 1" circle, lrg and small tag and three for you punches.  Dimensionals.

Technique: Faux dry embossing; use punched shapes in matching cardstock to create a background.  

Faux dry embossing is just one of the techniques I taught at my Punch a bunch class.  If you missed it watch for it to come out on DVD.  This DVD tutorial will feature full demonstrations of several techniques and ideas for punches as well as a slide show of samples.  A valuable tool for stampers and demonstrators alike.  This is my first DVD tutorial so I hope to have it ready for order next week, check back for more details!

Easter Goodies

I can not believe Easter is just around the corner!  Wow, time flies!  I saw an adorable idea on a fellow stampers blog, Dawn Griffith.  She used this punched bunny, which I have made before, but she put it on a Hershey bar.  I loved the idea for a fun gift.  So I made a bunch for some fellow demonstrators who volunteered to help me cut make and take packets for an upcoming group meeting.  I would have been a big under taking for myself, but with 5 helpers it went so fast and smooth!  So, I was so excited to give them this cute treat.  They loved them and I hope went away feeling appreciated for volunteering their time! 

Aren't they too cute!  Those of you that know me, know I have an addiction to the punches.  Can you see why, these cuties where made entirely with punches!  Here is a list of the supplies used.

Stamps: A Good Egg (for the Happy Easter saying)

Ink: Chocolate Chip Classic Pad, Basic Black journaling marker (to create the teeth)

Paper: Prints Pack DSP (includes Pretty in Pink, Apricot Appeal, Wild Wasabi, and Bashful Blue) and Soft Sky Prints DSP. (All DSP was cut to a 5 -1/2" square to wrap around candy bar) Card stock: Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Close to Cocoa, Bashful Blue, Apricot Appeal, Wild Wasabi and Soft Sky.

Punches: 1-3/8" circle, lrg. and sm. oval, 1/4" square, 3/4" circle, 1/4" circle (you could also use the 1/8" circle punch for the eyes, instead of wiggly eyes and draw the pupil with the black marker)

Accessories: Ribbons: Pretty in Pink Taffeta, White Grosgrain (colored with Apricot Appeal marker), light blue gingham, Soft Sky and Wild Wasabi Stitched Grosgrain, Tombow Liquid Glue (to glue on wiggly eyes), snail, mini glue dots, and sticky strip.  *Hershey bar used is the standard candy bar size; 1.55 oz

Here Comes the Bride

Isn't she beautiful. 

One of my best friends in high school, her mom collected this artwork of silhouette's that decorated their guest bathroom.  I always remembered them and this stamp set brings those memories back, especially in this card. 

I was inspired to used this color combination by last weeks color challenge on www.splitcoaststampers.com .  Basic Black, River Rock and Whisper White. Very classic and elegant.

She's All That!

Happy Saturday!  It is raining here in Boise, Idaho, a perfect day to stay in and stamp.  Or clean your stamp room in my case!  I am so excited that the new Occasions Mini Catalog is finally out.   There are so many cool new stamps and accessories in it!  I know I am going to have lots of fun with the new chunky glitter, hodgepodge hardware, designer papers, poly twill ribbon, die cut blooms, carousel notes and new rub ons.  Not to mention the fresh new designs in the stamp sets! 

One of my favorite stamps sets in Occasions Collection is the "She's All That" stamp set, which I used on the card above.  The card above is a dressed up version of a swap that I participate in.  I love the silhouette design of this stamp set and the whimsical and hip feel of the images.  I know my girl friends will love cards made with this set.  Plus, we can all imagine we look as good as the ladies in these stamps!  That is how I feel, even if the tag in my jean says something else!  Hehe! 

As you can see I had some fun with a paisley theme on this card.  I used the Paisley Background stamp as well as the Paisley design from my Close to Cocoa prints designer paper.  For the background of my card I inked my background stamp with Tempting Turquoise Ink and stamped it on Tempting Turquoise card stock.  Then I used the same stamp with out adding more ink to stamp my whisper white card stock that my birthday girl was stamped on to give a soft and subtle background.  I accented the card with several punches and Stampin' Up!'s new Fine Cosmo Glitter.  My final touch was a saying stamped in the lower right hand corner, I felt it needed something there to balance the card out. It says "You're a wonderful reason to celebrate" from the Curvy Verses stamp set.
