So, I promised that I would share with you the glass marble magnets that I was demonstrating at Tiena's debut last night. They turned out so SUPER cute, I am excited to share them with you.
BUT, I know you will love them SO much that you will want to make some of your own, so I prepared a TUTORIAL for you, collect your supplies and follow along!
* Flat Glass Marbles (found in any crafting store)
* Designer Paper (pgs. 168 - 171)
* Pencil
*Scissors
* Self Adhesive Magnets
STEP 1:
Choose your designer paper.
You could also use a stamped image on cardstock or a picture. What ever you choose the rounded top of the marble magnifies the image somewhat, it is very cool.
STEP 2:
Trace your marble with a pencil on the right side of the paper, or the side you want to show.
STEP 3:
Cut it out, trimming off your pencil marks as much as possible, erase the remaining lines if necessary.
Add a SMALL amount of Crystal effects to the center and TINY dots around the edge.
STEP 4:
Lay your marble on top and move it around to spread out the Crystal effects and then to line up the marble with the paper. Press down on it to remove any air bubbles.
STEP 5:
Choose you Rub On, I choose this one, because after I had made up a bunch my daughter saw them and wanted one, so I made this one just for her. This Rub On is from the Perfect Day set in the Occasions Mini Catalog.
STEP 6:
First press the rub on down with your finger so that it will stay in the spot you want it.
Then RUB IT ON with the craft stick provided in your pack of Rub Ons.
Carefully peal the backing off, in case you missed a spot then you can lay it back down and rub again.
STEP 7:
Now that your Crystal Effects has had time to dry, take your sanding block and sand down the edges of the paper backing. This will remove the rough edges.
STEP 8:
Add a self adhesive magnet to the back. Then turn over your marble and press down on it to firmly adhere the magnet.
COMPLETED GLASS MARBLE MAGNET:
My smiley face made me think of that song. Samantha liked it and has always liked playing with her magnets on the fridge while I am doing dishes or making dinner.
NOW, would you like to see the magnets I made for Mommy? Okay!
Okay, now those are just STINKIN' CUTE! I used the Summer Picnic and Certainly Celery Prints Designer Paper and the Perfect Day Rub Ons. They are so bright, shiny and fun. I thought they would make a fun little gift.
Here they are all packaged up for a gift!
I did not use any stamps to create this, just Rub Ons! They go on beautifully on my cello bag and textured cardstock. The textured cardstock is hard to see in this photo. The Real Red saying panel is textured. The flowers behind the brads are Rub Ons as well.
Hope you enjoyed my first Blog Tutorial! And more so, hope you try them out! You know, we have Rub Ons with the alphabet on them, now that would be a fun thing for the whole family on the fridge!
Let you imagination run with it!
Feel Free to contact me if you need any of the supplies to create these FUN magnets.
Happy Stampin'
Carrie
These are sooooo cute!! I love how you packaged them. I think I will make some as a door prize for my next SAS! Wonderful tutorial!
