Aloha and Happy Camper!

Aloha Ladies!

As of yesterday I have earned Stampin' Up!'s incentive trip to HAWAII!  It was a lot of hard work and there were a couple of times was not sure I was going to make it, but I kept plugging away till the very end!  I have to give a HUGE THANK YOU to all my wonderful customers, who keep comin' back for  more!  And to my downline who helped me get there as well, what a great group of ladies and FRIENDS!   So, I guess you could say I am one Happy Camper.  Okay, that was my lame segway to the card I want to share. How about a sympathy laugh?  Okay, no, here is the card...

This is one of the cards I designed for my last Card Maker's Club.  I so love this Happy Camper Set that is retiring! 

I wanted it to be some what 3D.  So it has a lot of cutting and dimensionals. Sometimes you just have to cut things out. 

The colors I used are: Close to Cocoa, Soft Sky, Blue Bayou and River Rock, what great In Colors! 

I also used the Define Your Life stamp set.  I have been having lots of fun with that set since I got it. 

This is a Z-fold card turned on it's side, you can see that here in the second photo.

 

 

It is super easy to make:

Take a piece of 4-1/4 x 11 cardstock, fold it in half.

Then fold the cover back and in half and crease with a bone folder.

What you can not see in the picture, is we stamped "Happy Birthday" on the bottom of the Whisper White Panel.  I thought it would be a fun masculine Bday card.

I thought it turned out cute and wanted to share it with you all. 

I am getting ready to go on my last camping trip of the summer, some what reluctantly as I am almost 8 months pregnant and anything over 72 degrees is just plain HOT!  But it will only be for 2 days.  I think I can suffer for 2 days, in the camper with the generator running the airconditioning while I stamp!  RIGHT!!!  Oh, mercy, say a prayer for me!

ABC Book Done!

Last week was CRAZY busy!  Looking back I am surprised at all I got done and came out mostly sane!  One of those things was finishing the ABC book for my daughter's 3 1/2 birthday that was on Saturday.  I finished it the morning of her party! 

So I wanted to share just one more page with you.  I  was very pleased with how all the pages turned out.

Here is page V.  "V" is for valentine.  My daughter is making a Valentine card for Grandma and Papa here. 

I covered the Chipboard V with Real Red Prints DSP (hostess stack) and then covered that with versamark and then with Iridescent Ice embossing powder and embossed it. 

The Chipboard Heart was inked with Real Red Craft ink, embossed with heat and stick powder and then Chunky Red Glitter stuck to that and heat set. 

I love how the page coordinates so well with her shirt.  I come up with my best color combos using the colors in the picture.

So, at the party I had her open the scrapbook last thinking it would not be the Coolest thing at a 3 1/2 party, but one of the girls there saw it and said, OH, a scrapbook of her very own.  You can tell her mom is a scrapbooker.  We opened it up and I held it on my lap and the kids gathered around to see it as I flipped the pages.  And, Samantha and I have really enjoyed looking at it and talking about the pictures.  And, it will be the gift that keeps on giving, as she gets older she will like it for different reasons.  So, I know you are probably done seeing pictures of these pages. Well, I am done now and will have some fun things to share!  Hope you all are enjoying your summer, I am INSIDE, as pregnancy and summer do not mix!

Fresh Cut Crab

Good Morning Bloggin' Friends! I am getting ready to leave for the Big Stamp Camp in a few, but could not leave you with nothing fun for today!  So, here is one of the cards I made to show for my demonstration today, something fun you can do with those left over petals from the Fresh Cut notes. 

Do you see the crab's claws hangin' there?  Those are two petals from the Fresh Cut Notes!  I know, who thinks of these things, not me, I saw this idea on a card made by another stamper and thought it was cute.  So, here is my card, using the petals as claws! 

I was hoping it would be a little bit of a masculine card, but not sure.  Depends on the guy I guess.

Fresh Cut Alternatives

HI and Happy FRIDAY!  I wanted to make a few more samples with my Fresh Cut notes for my demonstration on Saturday, but I have lent my Fresh Cuts Set to be used at the stamp camp, and it is already packed and not in my posession.  So, I had to use different stamps!  I love it when I have to challenge my self, it is always a happy and surprising result.  Here are the 4 Fresh Cut notes I made using Alternative Stamp Sets!

For this one I used the Baroque Background and the Always Stamp Set. 

The colors are Groovy Guava and River Rock.

I LOVE how you can use the 5 Petal punch perfectly behind the laser cut flower in the card!

You can see my use of the Pretties Kit!  Yes, I am still trying to use that up.  My display board it TOTALLY full and still had several beads and half pearls left!  So they will be given away as a prize at the stamp camp!

We are using the Simply Delight Simply Sent Kit for our stamp camp, so I thought it would be fun to use that set on a Fresh Cut note as well.  I love how it turned out.

The colors here are River Rock, Basic Black and Whisper White.  Classic and Elegant!

I love the cute little white flowers on a strawberry plant and that is what inspired me to make this card.  The DSP is from the Prints pack, that you can get when you place at $150 order FOR FREE, or as a Hostess.  I used the Real Red and Wild Wasabi papers.

After I stamped the strawberry I covered it with Versamark ink and embossed it with Irridescent Ice Embossing Powder to give it some sparkle, it looks sugary! 

I used the Rhinestone Brads from the Pretties Kit, in each corner.  But, I removed the stone from the brad.  Just spread out the arms of the brad, pry back the metal holders with your craft and rubber scissors and out comes the stone!  How fun, another way to use those Rhinestones!  Makes them more versatile!

Last one. Since I have been making samples for the Pretties Display board I have been wanting to string some beads on a card.  FINALLY, I did just that.  And, it is so cute!  

I strung them on some clear elastic that I use to make bracelets. 

The colors used here are Chocolate Chip and Groovy Guava.  The stamp is Tres Chic Background.

Now, go have some fun with those Fresh Cut Notes, and now, don't you need more notes to play with your other favorite stamp sets!

Pretties Scroll

I can't remember where, but I saw a card someone had made using the Hat Pins from the Pretties Kit to make a scroll.  I thought that was clever.  So, when making all my samples for the Pretties Display board, I was coming to the end of the box and there were a few hat pins with out ends for the points.  Then it came back to me, that scroll card.  I decided to try it out and here is my card:

I just love this card.  The soft sky and river rock are so elegant together. 

From the Pretties Kit I used, a large clear Rhinestone, it wraps around my ribbon.  As well as, two hat pins, two small pearl beads and one large half pearl. 

Once I ran out of flowers in the Pretties Kit I had to strech my imagination a little more to use up the other pieces. And, in doing so am having so much fun and really love the Pretties Kit.  I love texture, dimension and embellishments on my paper crafting projects and the Pretties Kits offers all of that! 

Also, I  have to say, I really love the sentiment I used from the All Holiday Stamp set.  It is so fun to color with markers.  What a great stamp! 

Now, for my favorite part!  The Chipboard accent!  It is from the Ginormous Pieces.  I inked it on the Versamark pad, embossed it with heat and stick powder then poured Cosmo Glitter on top (the light blue glitter), then heat set it. 

It is so sparkly!  Don't you love it. Well, I do, I adore glitter! 

Well, that is all for now.  I so need to make a scrapbook page for the ABC book today!  But then there are the dishes and laundry callin' me.  Hmm. Dishes and then a scrapbook page, right?

Folded Carousel Card

After planning all my projects for my Crazy for Carousel Notes Class, I got this idea.  To fold the Carousel Note in half and mount it on the front of my card. 

The Chocolate Poly-Twill goes around the note to keep it closed on the card front.

I really love Groovy Guava and Chocolate Chip together so, that was an easy pick with the Afternoon Tea DSP. 

The heart (Always Stamp Set)  is colored with markers, I made my own set of In-Color Markers out of Blender pens and reinkers.  I love them. 

The flower from the Pretties Kit is sponged with Chocolate Chip Ink.  The hat pin is also from the Pretties Kit and it pierces the heart like Cupid's arrow.  I know, isn't that clever? That was my genious for the day!

In the center of each scallop I stamped one of the small round stamps from the Always set.  They fit perectly, got to love that!

And, of course, I am working on the ABC book.  I had to share the page I made today. 

The pictures were taken in November at the Children's Museum in Portland, OR.  How perfect for my ABC album. And, the ABC images stamp set just so happens to have a xylophone stamp! NICE! 

The only thing I had to decide on was the colors for the layout.  I ended up having to trim the pictures down.  The color on the walls on either side of the xylophone were this weird Magenta/ Purple color with a touch of gold trim, close to a More Mustard.  I was trying to work those colors in, but was not loving it.  So, I trimmed the pictures and the Pink popped, from there it was easy, what goes great with pink - BROWN of course!!! 

So, the book is slowly but surely coming together and it is looking good for it to be done for her birthday party!

ABC Album

Well, my daughter's 3-1/2 birthday is a week and a half away.  So, I am crackin' down and determined to finish the ABC Album I started for her.  I wanted to share with you my latest pages. 

Here is Page "C"

"C" is for Chipmunks.  This was Labor Day weekend 2007.  We were at Bull Trout Lake, near Stanley, Id.  It is gorgeous there and we really enjoyed camping there.  There were TONS of chipmunks and squirrels around.  We shared some peanuts with them.  Maybe I should have been a little more worried about Tetnus, but it was so adorable to see them come up and eat out of my daugther's hand!  She loves animals and is unusually still and patient with them for a 3 year old, and at the time 2 year old.

I wanted to make a page with a Carousel Note on it to show at my Crazy for Carousel Notes Class last night.  Since I needed to work on my ABC pages I thought I would challenge my self to the task!  This is the result.  I am Thrilled with how it turned out.  The "tree" in chocolate chip just came to me.  Love it when I have a idea and it works out beautifully!

What's Hot Today?

Besides my card!  There were Hot Air Balloons all around my house this morning.  We get them alot this time of year.  Hot Air Ballooning is a big thing in Boise, ID and early summer mornings they are out and about! So, I just can not help myself, when they are right by my house I have to take pictures.  So, I thought I would share with you.

FIRST!!!! Here is a card I created for my Crazy for Carousel Notes Class, for tomorrow night!

It is two Carousel Notes hooked together to create a card.  I can not give too much away, got to save it for the class! 

I have had a lot of fun getting all the projects together that I am going to demonstrate, there are so many things you can do with these Carousel Notes!

Stamps: Always

Ink: Wild Wasabi, Soft Sky, Chocolate Chip

Paper:Carousel Notes (2), Wild Wasabi, Soft Sky, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip

Accessories: Jumbo Eyelets, Crop-a-Dile, Punches: ticket corner, 1/2" circle, 1-1/4" circle, 1-3/8" circle, and scallop circle, blender pens, build a brad, crafter's tool kit, soft sky stitched ribbon

This one was right over me, this was not the closest it got, I was actually waving to the people in the basket! I was standing on my front porch/ walk way.

 

 

 

 

 

This is the front of my house.  It was so close, I do not feel like the pictures portray how close it really was.  But, isn't it a beautiful morning! 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This one was taken from my back yard. I love how the trees were framing it.  So, that was my excitement this morning, while I was getting in a little stamping before church.  My daughter spent the night with Grandma and Grandpa and my husband was out of here early for drill weekend, so I only had me to get ready, that leant for some stamping time!

Pretties on a Stem!

Hello Again.  Hope you are not gettin' sick of my Pretties Creations. I had one last flower to use out of the Pretties Kit for the display board I am working on.  I wanted to use one of the Hat pins to create a stem for the flower. 

This card fits in our small open end envelopes.  I wheeled the background with the Lots Of Dots Jumbo Wheel from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  Fun wheel.

The large flower from the Pretties Kit was dyed by pressing the flower directly to the Purely Pomegranite stamp pad.  WOW, did it come out dark.  Very pretty! 

I then added two flowers to the center of that from the Flower Fussion Kit and anchored those to the large flower and top of the hat pin with a Clear Rhinestone. The hat pin is accented with clear bead and spacer beads from the Pretties kit as well.

I added a "Thank you" from the All Holidays set as well as some Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon to finish off the card.

I hope to get a few more samples done for this board.  But I have my Stampin' Mania - Crazy for Carousel Notes on Monday (there is still room for a few if you want to come!).  So, I will be focusing on getting ready for that.  Who knows what I will post tomorrow!

Pretty Carousel Note

Good morning!  I am getting all geared up for my June Stampin' Mania!  This month I will be demonstrating lots of cool things you can make with your Carousel Notes.

Pretties Cards

I made two more cards with the Pretties Kit, for the display board I am making for my group stamp camp, and wanted to share them with you.

This one, I wanted to combine the Pretties Kit with the Flower fussion. I love how it turned out, I like lots of different textures on cards!  

I added to the texture by creating some grass out of my certainly celery cardstock and paper snips!

  The sayings and leaf are Rub Ons from Occassions Mini Catalog, A Perfect Day. 

The Butterfly is from the All Through the Year Set. The dots, or trail, were made with my White Gel Pen. 

This card opens first at the bottom, where the grass is and then the main flap opens up. I used some left over cut paper from a stamp camp to create this card as well as the next one.

  For this card I wanted to pair the Pretties Kit with the Die cut Blooms. 

The background, is Barely Banana Cardstock stamped with the Twill background with Barely Banana ink. 

I dyed the pretties flower with banana ink and an aqua painter.

The saying was done with the Defining Alphabet and the Define Your Life Stamp set.

I also used Pink Taffeta Ribbon and the Ticket Corner punch for added detail and dimension.

I hope I am inspiring everyone who will see these cards here and on my display board to get out your pretties kit, or order one, they are lots of fun and make beautiful accents to all your paper crafting projects.

It's Party Time

This is what I was working on yesterday.  The invitations for my daughter's 3 1/2 Birthday Party.

Her actual birthday is 2 weeks before Christmas. It is so crazy to try and have a birthday party at that time.  So, we copied an idea from our neighbor, who's son's bday is with in a few days of Christmas, to have a party on their 1/2 birthday.  So, that is what we do, a party for her and her friends.  Then on her actual birthday, we have a special day. It works for us.

This year Samantha wanted to have a kitty birthday.  I was hoping for Cowgirl, but maybe next year. So, this is the invite(s) I made. 

It is a flat card, the cat image opens up to reveal the party info.

Pretties Weaving

Happy Sunday and JUNE!  My husband had to get up early this morning, for his National Guard Annual Training, so I did too and had some STAMPING TIME!  I wanted to do Beate's Weekend sketch challenge #50!  Here is my card:

Yesterday was my Card Maker's Club, it was fun.  And, congratulations to Carolyn, who won the mystery hostess drawing!  Anyway, we did a ribbon weaving card and I love how the weaving looks, so I wanted to create a card for a display board I am working on using weaving.

Paper: Soft Sky, Chocolate Chip, Soft Sky Prints DSP

Accessories: Pretties Kit, 5/8" Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, Crafter's Took Kit, Mini and Pop Up Glue Dots, snail and dimensionals.

I LOVE all the texture and dimension of this card.  To color the flower I pressed it directly on my Soft Sky stamp pad.  It came out a very dark shade of Soft Sky, and I like the way it makes it stand out on the card. 

If you do not have the Pretties Kit, it is so much fun and the flowers are SO EASY to die!  It is a great addition to any paper crafting project, I highly recommend it!
