Stamp a Stack!!

Wouldn't it be great to always have the perfect greeting card on hand just when you need it?  My Stamp-A-Stack class is the solution for you! 

At this class you will create 16 hand-made cards.  They are beautiful cards and no one will know how simple they were to create.  What makes them beautiful AND simple?  We will be using the Simply Scrappin' Kit; Sun Shine Garden to create all 16 cards!

You can customize each card with the stamped greeting of your choice!  So, make a bunch of birthday cards, thank you's or what ever you like! 

I will also provide you with additional embellisments to enhance your cards, such as ribbon, buttons and brads.

You will get to play with my fun paper crafting tools like, the Circle Scissor Plus, the Big Shot and all kinds of punches.

Card for Dad

Here is another Father's Day card that I created for my Etsy Shop, CardsbyCarrie. I wanted a Father's Day Card for the non-fisherman, non-hunter, non-glofer, non-cowboy, like my Dad.  I thought this one was fun, bright and cheery, that sounds like my Dad.  I guess I better go make another one to give to him!  I used leftover supplies I saved from a stamp club project ages ago.  The saying is from the hostess set "Sweet Little Sentiments".  I thought it was perfect for a Father's Day card! 

For years my husband has always looked on the inside of my cards to see if I did something there too.  So, when I have the time, desire, supplies and ideas I try to do that.  This is one of those lucky cards!

I *heart* birds!

Well, it happened again!  I was sleeping and this idea popped into my head... I could take the heart punches and make a bird! I really like the birds from the Good Friend and Cheep Talk sets and found a way to create one, using what I have. 

First, let me show you how to cut the hearts and then I will show you the card I made with my cute bird.

 Use the Full heart for the body and cut it as shown.

Use these hearts for:

small: tail feathers

medium: wing

large: beak

First I have to show you the sketch I used for the lay out of my card, I save sketches that I like, but do not always participate with the challenges, but they are a great inspiration when you are sitting down to make a card. This one was designed by Mercy Kerin, I alway like her sketches! 

 You can see that my final card was inspired by this sketch but not exactly the same. 

Two things, he originally had a brown tail feather and I decided I wanted to be blue, so I stuck it over the top with tombow liquid glue, but the tail feather really looks better if is is placed behind the body. And, I need to work on the FEET!  I cut these out of card stock.  I wanted them to be a little longer, but I had to cover up the feet that drew.  So, if you have any ideas for my little guys feet let me know. 

But overall, I think he is so cute!  I use the Good Morning Sunshine DSP, which coordinates with Good Friend and Cheep Talk stamp sets.

Also, I did the ruffled scallop around my 2-1/2" circle that I cut out with my Circle Scissor Plus. And thanks to Julie A, she reminded me that the ruffled scallop is the creative genius of JanTink!  I love how it looks and am sure it will find its way into many more creations to come!

Baja cards for him

I had a hard time coming up with a Father's Day card this year, due to a lack of masculine stamp sets.  That's when my friend Britiney said, use the Happy Father's Day from All Holidays.  I said, what like on the outside of my card?  Yeah, I know, I am slow!  She replied, yes, I made the cutest card with it last year.  Well, this card is my take on Britiney's card.  Are you noticing a theme, a Britiney theme?  Okay, the truth is... SHE ROCKS!  You have to check out her blog today, she is on THE Blog tour! 

Isn't is gorgeous?  Tell me one Father you would not give this to!  I know, it is perfect! Thanks B! The gals at my Ladies Night out really liked it! 

I also thought it would be a good idea to have a Happy Birthday option for this card, so here is that version:

I was super happy with the results of this card and especially since it uses my favorite color of all times, CHOCOLATE CHIP and my favorite In Color, BAJA BREEZE.

Cake anyone?

Tonight is Ladies Night Out at my house! I have some GREAT stuff planned. This COOL card is our bonus project for the evening. 

Isn't that designer paper so pretty, it is from the Occasions Mini Catalog, called Walk in the park.  (You can get it for FREE if you want!)

Do you see the ruffled scallop!  I so do not remember who's blog I saw this on, but what a SUPER CUTE idea!  And, it is so easy, punch a scalloped row, run it through the crimper and attach where you please.  Since the card stock is crimped is bends easily. 

The Cameo Coral strip is actually a belly band to hold my card close because there is something ready to POP on the inside!

You guessed it the ALL NEW Pop Up Cake!  This is the Pop Up Cake post to tell you WHAT NOT TO DO with it!

This is not the first cake I have made, but it is the first one I MESSED UP on.  First, since I had made it before I did not follow the directions so closely, and ended up putting the base on BACKWARDS, so I had to remove it and flip it and now the tiny little section there in the front is not holding down very well. 

Also, I found out, you do not want to fold the cake shut before adding the outer "cake" layers, then your cake will not have as much POP when you open it.  It is like my cake will not open all the way now. 

So, there are so good tips to note when you are making your next Pop Up Cake creation.

Manhattan Matchbox with Pretties inside!

I could not think of a short title to encompass all the cool things I used for these projects.  In April my up-line Margo asked me to demonstrate the cute matchbox ideas that we saw at general session in Hawaii.  As I got to playing with the matchbox die I had so much fun and came up with some other cute creations, like this one... 

For the slider I ran my card stock is through with the matchbox die and then with my Manhattan flower embossing folder.  The box is made with Certainly Celery CS and at one end I added a jumbo brad and to pull open the box I added a piece of wide Celery grosgrain ribbon.

The 3x3 gift card was the make and take at a booth I did yesterday, awesome idea from my friend Britiney!  That Manhattan embossing folder sure makes it easy to make an elegant card, even the skeptics at my booth gave into making a card when they saw the sample! 

The big surprise is what I filled the box with.  I made some earrings to match my bracelet, which I made with the pretties kit several months ago, when my assignment for a meeting was to make samples with the pretties kit!

I added a card stock insert to hold the earrings, using my paper piercing tool to make the hole.

I got the "hardware" for the earrings in the bead section of my craft store.  You will want to use your pliers from the Crafter's Tool kit to manipulate the wire that the beads are on, to make a loop to hang on the hook.
