Pennant Purse

Before the day was over I had to share with you the matching bag I made for Samantha to collect her treats in tonight!

I made this with six  large pennants, cut with the Big Shot!  Isn't it darling!  It looks so cute with the kitty costume! 
  

Lastly, I wanted to show you the cards I made my girls as a little treat for the day.  My downline Jenny let me borrow her Kooky Spooky die to make some Trick or Treetin' Bears, thanks Jenny!

I left them on the dresser so that when I got them dressed this morning Samantha found them.  It was a nice little suprise and right away she had to make the witch bear!  The face of the pumpkin looks a little off, it is black with glitter over the top, cute in real life!  Also, the witch has glittered high heels, earings, glittered flower on her hat, how can you be evil when you are that cute?

Well, time to get ready for this evening.  Hope you all are having fun tonight!

My Trick-or-Treaters

I wanted to share with you all the costumes I made with my BIG SHOT!!!

They are cats.  I bought the Velor sweat suits, cause I am not that great of a seamstress.  Then I found the Leopard like material at the fabric store as well as Wonder Under.  I ironed the wonder under to the Leopard fabric and then ran it through my Big Shot with my Circles #2 die!  It cuts out 4 different size circles!  Next, I peeled off the backing from the Wonder Under and then iron the circles on.  I put the circles going down the outside of the arms and legs.  For the circle on the tummy, I turned the fabric over and using my Circle Scissor Plus and a pencil drew a 6" circle for Samantha and a 5" circle for Hannah and then cut those out by hand, cut them down the center and ironed them on either side of the zipper.  The ears are cut out with the Ovals Die, then I folded them in half and ironed it to its self and stitched them to the hood.  The tails I sewed, stuffed and stitched on.  Note to self, a cat does not look like a cat when the tail is stitched to the front of the pants and not the back!  The were easy and fun to make, Samantha and I worked on them together! 

Now, I want to show you what Samantha gave to her teachers, I got the idea from my friend and downline, Patty, they are a dessert in a jar. 

You layer I sleeve of graham cracker (crushed), then 8 Halloween peeps in a ring, in the center of the peeps 1/4 cup packed brown sugar, then 1 to 1-1/2 cups halloween m-n-ms to fill.  You then use the contents to make smores bars!  The tag reads:

Directions:

Empty jar contents into bowl.  Remove and snip the peeps into bits with kitchen shears or knife.  Return peeps to bowl and mix well.  Melt 1/2 cup  butter, add 1 tsp vanilla.  Pour this over the dry ingredients.  Mix well and pat into a greased  8x8 dish.  Bake at 350 degrees for 15 mins. and cut into bars.

I decorated mine up with some Halloween paper I had left over from years past and my Batty for You set.  They were a hit with the teachers!  And, from what I hear, super delish!

Buckets of Fun

Look at this cute bucket made with the pillow box die!  You can find the tutorial on Spiltcoast.

 
It is pretty easy to make and really fun to decorate and fill with a special gift.  I used the Throughly Modern DSP.  Love the bright and fun colors in this paper, plus it has cute polka dot patterns in it!  I also used the Wings of Friendship Hostess Stamp Set for my label.  What you can not see is that I have white jumbo brads holding the handle on, too cute. 

So, after seeing the buckets, I saw that someone made a mug!  Oh, now I had to make that one as well...

I will fill this one later with some cocoa and candy canes, maybe some chocolate.  I also used the thoroughly modern paper on this one (see POLKA DOTS!).  I made the label with the Christmas Punches Hostess Set.The poinsettia is made with the Five Petal Flower punch.  You score each petal in half and give it a little fold, layer that on another one with a dimensional.  I also, snipped a little triangle out of each side of each petal to make it a little more 3D.  And, lastly added a pretty half pearl to the center.

Sticky Snowflake

Have you noticed the Sticky Sheets that Stampin' Up! has?  They are like sticky strip but in a 12x12 sheet!  Cool, right!?!  But now you are thinking, what do you do with that?  BIG SHOT meet STICKY SHEET, STICKY SHEET meet BIG SHOT, it's a match made in heaven.  I cut a piece of 4-1/4 x 4-1/4 sticky sheet, laid it on my Jumbo Snowflake die and cut it out.  I then placed it on a chipboard scallop circle that I made (cover a piece of light weight chipboard like the white piece that comes with DSP with card stock using a glue stick and die cut it with the Scallop Circle #1die).  Once the snowflake was stuck to the chipboard scallop I peeled off the red layer of the sticky sheet, perfect for adhering GLITTER.  First I poured on Silver Chunky glitter and poured off the excess.  Next I poured on fine silver glitter to fill in any little open spaces.  The result is a super shinny and sparkly snowflake ornament.

I added an eyelet and some silver cord.  Then I realized when you hand an ornament it turns and you can sometimes see the back.  Which made me think I need to do something on the back.  Since the back is white (because it is the white chipboard from the DSP packaging) I added another snowflake, this time cut out of the same card stock as I covered chipboard with, Rich Razzleberry.  I think this would make a great ornament or an accent to a gift bag as well.  I can not wait to see what else I can make with the sticky sheets.

Folded DSP Ornament

Look what I made with sixty3x3 squares of Designer Series Paper...

Is that not the craziest, coolest thing!  It is called Kusudama. 

The Japanese kusudama is a paper ball made out of multiple identical origami shapes glued together. They were traditionally used as a  ball for incense or potpourri but now we see them more for decoration or as a gift. It takes a few steps to get to this point, so if you want to make this you can find the tutorial here.

It was fun to make.  I will be demonstrating how to make this at a Personal Stamping Class I am doing with my friend and customer Leslie in November.  We are very excited about this class, the theme is Christmas ornaments.  Each guest will get to make 3 ornaments as well has learn how to make this Kusudama Ornament.  If you are interested in a Personal Stamping Class just let me know, we can pick the theme together and  plan something great for you and your friends!

You can't catch me...

I'm the Gingerbear Boy!!!

My friend Britiney gave me this idea, to make the Build-a-Bear die into a gingerbread/gingerbear boy!  I know she is going to have to borrow my die now, call me B! 

Isn't he so cute on his baking sheet, looking good enough to eat!!!  I used my scallop edge punch to make the frosting squiggles for his wrists and ankles (do bears have ankles?). Anyway, the scallops around the neck were made by punching out a 1-3/8" circle and then punching out the scallop circle around that.  I only used a small portion of it.  I decided his nose and mouth should be red like candy.  The buttons are made with a 1/4" circle punch and then I added two way glue and dazzling diamonds glitter. I had to put him on a 6x6 card so that everything I wanted would fit on there.  The baking sheet is 3-3/4" x 5-1/4" with the corners rounded, the handles were made with the word window punch.

I inked the saying from the Sweet Seasons set with markers to make it a little more exciting.  Then I cut it out with my Circles #2 die, now that was tricky and mounted it on the largest circle on that die and accented it with my white gel pen and faux stitching. The DSP is from the Merry Moments collection, I like how it has red and green colors with CHOCOLATE CHIP, my favorite color!

From the mind of babes

Today's guest blogger is very  special, she is one of my youngest blog followers.  Felicia is 11 years old, she is not new to paper crafting but has recently found the joy in PUNCHES!  You have to see all the cute critters she made!

The cute little detail that you can not see here is the the fly has a face and he is frowning!  I think he must realize he is about to be lunch

She even thought to give the mouse cheese!  The cat is hard to see here, sorry.  I thought they came out so cute!  I think she is future demonstrator!  Thanks Felicia for sharing those with me and keep on stampin' and punchin'!

Matchbox Chimney with a Surprise

My friend and downline Patty found a book at the library, not sure the name but it was a book of ornaments for kids to make.  She called me from the library to tell me there was an ornament in this book that we had to make, because it looked like we could make it with our Matchbox Die!  It used a real matchbox and turned it into a chimney, we replaced that with our Matchbox die...

To make it look like a chimney, I drew lines on the Real Red card stock, after cutting it with my Matchbox Die with a ruler and black journaling pen.  Then I added a strip of Whisper White card stock which I punched on both sides to create my snow, which wraps all the way around the box.

The SURPRISE part is when you pull the ribbon handle, OUT POPS...

SANTA!!!!  He is made with punches and is attached to a 1" x 2-1/2" piece of acetate, so when you pull the match box open he really does pop up!  Inside the box I put a small cello bag of red hots, but my real plan is to put 4 Hershey nuggets covers with out Night and Day DSP (a black pattern) so that they are "lumps of coal".  I just could not wait to show you, so I had to put something in there. 

Here are the punches I used for Santa:

1-3/8" circle in Blush Blossom for the face

Scallop Square in Real Red, cut in half for the hat

Word Window in Whisper White for the hat brim

Three for You Flower punch in Whisper White for the beard and hat pom pom

1/4" circle punch in Blush Blossom for the nose, which I sponged with Blush Blossom for some shadowing

Double circle punch out of Basic Black for the eyes

I got the idea for this punched Santa from LeAnn Greff. I just had to make mine a little more compact to fit in the box.

The idea to make him pop out of the box I got from this cute halloween project.

MY Build-a-Bear!

While surfing my favorite blogs I came across a post with a bunch of Build-a-Bear projects and showed it to my daughter.  She loved it and each time I scrolled down she would say "oh, we have to make that one".  We finally settled on the bear in the sleeping bag!

 

This is the one I made, Samantha wanted to make them exactly like the original, which you can see here.  On the same post there was a cheerleader bear.  I knew right away I was going to have to make that one, as I am a BIG TIME fan, supporter, cheerleader, fanatic of the Boise State Broncos! 

Seriously, if I went to Build-a-Bear, THIS is the bear I would make!  She is so stinkin' cute!  When I made her and attached her heart (BLUE of course), I gave it a little kiss and wished for 13 and 0!  I might send it to my self when we find out which BOWL GAME we are going to play!!!  In case you do not know, FOOT BALL is one of my other passions!  And Bronco Football, let's just say there is a time to put down the stamps and dies!  But, I am totally up for a little half time make and take project!

Fancy Favor Ghoul Friends

 Yesterday was a good day to stay inside, watch football and do some paper crafting.  Little Hannah took a long nap so, Samantha and I created these fun Fancy Favor Ghoul Friends, which I totally CASED from Gretchen Barron's blog, with a few minor changes.  They are so cute and fun.  Each friend is made with the Top Note Die and Fancy Favor die in between.   The details are created with a wide assortment of punches.

Here is the ghost and on this one I also put a ghost on the backside as well!

Here you can see how the Fancy Favor Box goes in between the 2 top notes.

Mr. Fangs as we call him.  Doesn't he look like he is saying "Sorry I bit you".  I might need to add a little blood dripping off those fangs!  hehe.

Glenda, the Good Witch!  She is my favorite.  It has to be the hair, the hat with ribbon and matching felt flower. 

Well, now we are all set to fill these with Chocolate and give to our friends and neighbors, that is if I can stand to part with them!

My first MDS page!!!

LOOK what I made with my friend Britiney.  We (the girls and I) came over to Britiney's house to play.  Yes, Britiney and I play too.  Today, we played with MDS and made this page together.  

 

Isn't this so cute!?!  The two cuties on the page are my daughter Samantha and Britiney's son Jordan.  They are the best of friends and are currently planning their wedding.  Of course Britiney and I are thrilled and are looking forward to spending Thanksgivings together!  

So, now I am looking forward to installing and playing with MDS at home now that she has shown me how fun it is.  I am just waiting for some brand new memory for my 5 year old computer!

CANDY CORN and a SALE!

Remember the Triangle Box I made into a Witches Hat?!  Well, the thought occurred to me today that I could make it into a CANDY CORN!!!!!!!!!!!

You can follow the directions on my tutorial for the witches hat, here, to make this box as well. The card stock base for this one is Whisper White.  I added an Only Orange and Summer Sun panel to the front and back with Tombow liquid glue to make it multicolored like a candy corn. Then I scored it into the triangle box.
