Wine Glass Charms

I thought life was suppose to get simpler after Christmas.  Hmm, still waiting. But, I wanted to share with you the wine glass charms my Mom and I made for Christmas dinner.  

 We used the Serif Essentials Alphabet for the Big Shot and die cut the initials of each person coming out of shrink plastic.  Then I stamped the flourish image from the Friends 24-7 stamp set on the back of each letter with Craft ink, Elegant Eggplant on the "E".  Most of the time I remembered to punch a hole in the letter so that it would fit on the rings.  Then, I shrunk them with my heat tool.  

Each person had their own color as well,  my Mom added the beads which I had on hand in my bead collection.  I also like to do beading.   I got the idea to make them when my Mom was telling all about her fiasco when trying to find some.  It just so happend the I had the rings on hand, I had bought them FOREVER ago when I thought I would make wine glass charms.  They turned out great and I had a nice time creating something with my Mom who is not a paper crafter.  They worked great too!  These would be a fun Valentines Day gift too!

Christmas Gifts

WOW, have I been busy, baking, stamping, addressing Christmas cards, visiting, wrapping, creating, etc.  I am sure you know how that is.  But, I wanted to show you the pins I made for gifts!  I made them with the Flower Folds XL die.  I saw these at Convention this past summer and LOVED the idea.  Then more recently I saw Christie Daughtery's  pins on her blog Stamp Shack Lady and she had the genius idea of putting them together with HOT GLUE!    Loved that and ran with it, since I had purchase a bunch of fabric scraps from my neighbors garage sale this summer!  

Here is the pin that I made for my sister who loves yellow and bright colors, looks good with her red hair!

Can you see that I put a stacked corduroy button in the middle!  I love all the colors and texture and if you look close you can see how I tucked some white tulle in there, that was like the icing on the cake!  

Now, check out how I packaged it: 

 I made a matching butterfly hair clip for the top of the organdy bag (WAY RETIRED SU! item that I some how have a bunch of).  This hair clip is  just 3 butterflies cut  with the Beautiful Butterflies die and  hot glued together with another corduroy button on top.  

Here is another flower pin I made for Samantha's gymnastics coach:

I put a flower and half pearl from the pretties kit in the middle, just be careful as the hot glue shows through the flower and obviously I used too much.   

I also made one for my daughter and her Hello Kitty (from Build-a-Bear) so that they can match. I put Samantha's on a head band and Hello Kitty's has a piece of Velcro on the back.  

These were lots of fun and GREAT gifts, you show try your hand at them!

I punched Tinkerbell!

Okay, I am really not that violent to actually PUNCH Tinkerbell, but I did CREATE Tinkerbell using my punches!!!

 I made this card for my daughter who turned FIVE YEARS OLD on Saturday.  I was inspired by all the punch art that Ellen Kemper does on her blog!  I gave up on getting her face to look right, she has very uniques eyes.  But, my daughter knew who it was right away and my husband was impressed.  This card went with the new Tinker Bell, Lost Treasure movie and Fairy/ Tinkerbell book she received from us.  It was a very fun birthday.  And, I have to add.  I made the BEST chocolate cake with chocolate frosting EVER!  I have had serious cake issues in the past, they ALL come out DRY!  But, I have not given up and tried the cake recipe on the back of the Hershey Cocoa Powder canister as well as the chocolate frosting recipe on the back.  DELICIOUS!  I was super excited!

I can see!

I am so excited to be playing with my new toys!  First of all I got my preorder from Stampin' Up!  All new stuff from the upcoming Occasions Mini Catalog!  The craziest thing in the mini are clear mounted stamps!  WOW!  I was not sure about this, until I tried it!  Low and behold I can see! 

 First I stamped the dotted tag from the new stamp set Tiny Tags and then I was able to stamp the thanks saying inside it with out the assistance of the Stamp-a-ma-jig!  It was fabulous! 

Now, here is the entire card, my first creation with my new stuff...

 The Background was done with our new Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder!  I new the instant I saw it, that it would be one of the first things I would order.  The impression it leaves is so deep, you will love it!  The second thing I saw that I knew I "needed" was the Beautiful Wings Embosslit,  it cuts out and dry embosses FIVE butterflies!  This butterfly was the only one my daughter let me keep when we tried it out the first time, the others are glued in her Hello Kitty color book. 

I can not leave this post with out mentioning my other new toy, my Christmas present!!!  YESTERDAY my new computer arrived, it is a big deal because we switched to MAC!  I am pretty much in love!  It does take some getting used to and you have to retrain your mind on how things work if you have only known a PC, but I have to say, so far, it totally ROCKS!  

That's all for me, and now that I have a up and running computer, no more borrowing my husbands laptop, I will be able to do more posting and with all that is new, there will be lots to share!  The Occasions Mini Catalog goes live January 5th, so save up your Christmas money, there is so much you will NEED!

Finial Snowflake

Hello Stampers! 

I have been away for a few days trying to get over a NASTY flu!  Today I decided, what better way to help me feel better than to stamp a card!  So, I found the cardstock on my desk that I ran through my Big Shot with my NEW Finial Press Embossing Folder the other day (do you ever do that, try something out immediately after opening it, but don't make anything?)  I decided to make something with it. Here is the card!

I LOVE!  the Bigz Snowflake Die and snowflake punch!  So, I had to put them together!  I had lots of fun creating it and a little stampin' therapy goes a long way!
