Last night I attended my demonstrator group meeting! It was super fun. I had volunteered to demonstrate some ideas using products from the upcoming Summer Mini Catalog. I thought I would share those ideas with you guys too! Starting with my Gift Card Holder for Coffee Lovers!
First let me tell you about the stamping and then I have a little tutorial on how to make it into a gift card holder!
This project showcases the new Rough Type Alphabet set, Log Cabin Smooch Spritz, Itty Bitty Bits stamp set and the flower is one of the punches from the new Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (it is a set of three punches!).
After stamping my Medallion (which I inked with Choc. Chip then stamped off on my scratch paper first) I then sprayed my card with the Log Cabin Smooch Spritz. Stampin' Up! carries a box set your project in when spraying it. I thought I don't really need that do I?!? So, I did not order it and that, was a BIG mistake. Smooch Spritz is a sweet sounding name, but don't that that fool you that stuff sprays EVERYWHERE! SO, get the box, I know I will be!!! But, it did add a nice spray of metallic to my card front. To get a subtle spritz you want to make sure to hold the bottle back aways when spraying.
For the sentiment, I lined up the letter and coffee cup on one clear block so that I was able to stamp it as one word!!!
See how cute! If you click to enlarge this picture you might be able to see the metallic look of the smooch spritz.
I punched the small flower out with the new Itty bitty shapes punch using Sweet Pea DSP!
To give it a shabby chic look I added a ruffled eyelet border and some satin ribbon.
Now for the inside:
See the little gift card peeking out, here is how to make the gift card holder:
You might not be able to read the dimensions I typed on the photo so here they are again:
Cut card stock: 11" x 4-1/4"
Score at: 3",5-1/2",8"
Fold as shown above.
Use the word window punch to punch out 1/2 a word window on the center fold, one on each end, like this:
Now it is time to glue it shut, grab your Tombow Liquid glue....
Flip the card over add glue to the very edge, on the three sides, as shown above. Press and hold it shut and wait a few second for the glue to dry.
Now your card is ready to hold a gift card and to be all dressed up with stamps, ink and embellishments!
Happy Stampin'
Carrie
