Hi Stampin' friends! I thought it would be nice to share something sweet this Sunday morning! In July, it was my month to host the Stampadelicious Group meeting (this is the group of demonstrators I belong to). Since July is also my birthday month I designated the theme to be BIRTHDAY! So, I wanted to show you two of the items I demonstrated at the meeting.
SO cute, huh! If you have not already seen this card, I saw it on Lori Healing's blog and then in the Stampin' Success Magazine (a stampin' magazine all demonstrators receive each month) done by Dawn Olshefske. It is a very popular card and I thought it was SO cute. The cupcake was inspired by Teresa Black. Here are some close up photos of each item.
I made a few changes to this card, to make it my own, but I love the awning and little shelf for the ice cream, I call this my Ice Cream Shoppe Card. This is one of the cards we are making at my Ladies Night Out Club tomorrow night as part of our 3-D theme!
Look at all the dimension and details!
The cupcake stand is or was a terra-cotta pot. Turn the pot upside down and glue the base on top, I used hot glue. I did all the painting before glueing and then added my embellishments. My embellishments are,
half pearls hot glued around the rim
Chocolate Chip card stock strip wetted, scrunched and ruffled and glued around the middle
Felt flower made out of circles from the Circle #2 die, I can show you how to do that later.
Build a Brad
Regal Rose ribbon, stitched and gathered and glued around the bottom
That was a lot of fun to make! I got the idea from MegaStamp Studio, I would love to make more!
Now for the Cup Cake, which is a gift card holder! You pull the cherry and out comes the gift card!!! You can see it peaking out from under my whip cream. I got this idea from Teresa Black, she has a great tutorial. It is a time consuming project, but fun to do and worth it in the end.
I also have a banner to share that matches these projects, I will share that with you soon. For now I am working on a card to go with my post for National Joke telling day, which is tomorrow!!!
Happy Stampin'
Carrie
