I can not believe I FINALLY finished these cards!
This is the card I made for my daughter's 2nd birthday party invitation. Cookie Monster is my favorite! Check out the inside...
I only made 10 and thank goodness because it was a lot of work! I did have two helpers, Patty and Georgie who are my stampin' friends and both are in my downline, THANKS girls!!!
I got this idea from a card that Heather Summers did, so I have to say Thanks to her too for the inspiration. Now, let me just give you some WORDS OF WISDOM, if you are going to make invitations with die cut letters, you may want to do fewer than 23 die cut letters that have to be individually glued on. This is why my "i"'s do not have dots! They were just too tiny to a) get out of the die, b)ever find after the die cut them, and c) PICK UP, let alone get glue on them and get the stuck in the appropriate spot. Phew, glad to get that off my chest!
Okay, complaining aside. I do love the look of the die cut letters! And I am thrilled with how this card turned out! We are doing a Sesame Street themed party, because I had one when I was little so one of my daughters had to have one. I will share more of my Sesame Street creations later.
So, for now I leave you with the card recipe:
Stamps: Introducing (retired)
Ink: Basic Black, Brilliant Blue, Yoyo yellow, Red, Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel
Paper: Brilliant Blue, Real Red, Yoyo yellow, whisper white, Creamy Caramel, Only Orange, Basic Black, Summer Picnic DSP (retired)
Accessories: Scallop Circle punch (punch this twice to create heads), 1-1/4" & 1/2 & 3/4 & 1/4 circle punches, small oval punch (fold in half and trim edges to give it more of a triangle shape for beak), large star punch (cut of points to create Big Birds tongue), Tulipe die (I used a small oval from this for Elmo's nose), Pinking Heart Border Punch, tombow liquid glue, glue stick (for letters).
Happy Stampin'
Carrie
