Welcome Stampin' Friends!
What a fun and busy weekend we had. Saturday was my daughter Hannah's 3rd birthday party! Having and Owl themed birthday party was super fun. Plus, I got to use my favorite color combination PINK AND BROWN! I thought I would share with you one of the birthday gifts I made for her.
It is a fabric crayon roll, or at least that is what I call them and a home made color book of ALL OWLS!
This is what it looks like when you untie it and unroll it. It has twistable crayons in it. I learned how to make this at Stampin' Up! Convention, Donna Griffith showed us how to make one with Stampin' Up! fabric. She used hers to hold all 10 of the in- color markers! Yeah, I need to make me one!
If you want to make one.... Here's some help....
You need; 2 different kinds of fabric, both cut to... 11-1/2" x 16"
Sew these right sides together, leaving a small opening to turn it right side out, stich opening closed.
Fold bottom up 4-1/4"
Mark along the fold every 1" using a fabric marker, stitch were you marked up to the edge of the folded piece, creating your crayon/marker pockets.
Ribbon = 28" sew it on to the seam, I did mine on the left hand side, so that the piece to the left of the seam was 2" shorter than the other side, as you need a little more to go around the crayons roll.
Add crayons, mine will hold 11, or 10 and one pencil.
FUN!!! and EASY!!!
Now for the owl color book. To make this mini color book. I searched for owl color sheets and found SEVERAL, before printing them out I shrunk them down to about 40% so that they would fit on the Top Note (#113463).
I did not just print out color sheets, I made my own...
Using My digital studio (#118108)!
I just love how versitile My Digital Studio (#118108) is!
I also made a Welcome Sign for the front door using My Digital Studio...
After printing it, I trimmed it down, corner rounded the corners, mounted it on coordinating cardstock, colored in some of the letters and added some punched arrows.
That's not all the Owl things I made...
These are OWL CAKE POPS. Can I just tell you I love BAKERELLA! She got me stared on Cake Pops, which are cake and frosting mixed together to make a dough, rolled into a ball, put on a stick and dipped in candy melt. I got the idea for these from the Cake Pop cookbook by Bakerella! Aren't the a HOOT! And looking at the picture makes me love my husband a little bit more today, since he helped decorate at least half of the 40 or so we made and drilled the holes in my tree slice, sorry had to throw in a warm fuzzy!
Okay, one more warm fuzzy!!!
This is Hannah, my crazy cute three year old, full of sugar and spice and vinegar too. My teeny tiny miniature person who I love. She is wearing her "swim dress" we got the coolest wading pool for her as a bday gift, so the kids could take a dip in the bird bath at the party. Here they took a break to blow bubbles. Love you Pancakes!
I think that is owl the fun to be had for this post!
