Welcome Stampin' Friends!
Wow, was I excited about this weeks picture challenge at Stampin' Royalty!
How fun is that!!! Cupcakes, pink and brown and polka dots! You can not go wrong with this one! I knew right away what I wanted to make...
I so rarely use anything that is retired, but can not get rid of my jumbo cupcake!!! The name of the stamp set was Simple Birthday Thanks. I stamped the cupcake 5 times to make this cupcake...
1. on Crumb Cake for the wrapper
2. on Regal Rose for the base frosting layer
3. on Chocolate Chip for the chocolate ganache drizzle layer
4. on Rose Red for the cherry
5. on Certainly Celery for the stem of the cherry
I did this twice so I would have a front and back piece. Then I added the whipped cream, which was done with Liquid Applique (non-stampin' up! product). I had to add the sprinkles to incorporate the polka dots from the challenge and the cupcake just needed something. I covered the cherry and the sprinkles with Crystal Effects (#101055) to give them shine and dimension.
I really wanted to use the saying "you are sweet" but did not have a stamp that said that. So, I thought I would create my own using My Digital Studio (#188108). The "U" and the "R" are from the Noteworthy Alphabet and the "so sweet" is done withe the Sweet Shoppe Alphabet Lower. How exciting that I can make custom stamped images with MDS!!!
The waffer cookie was fun to make, I die cut the triangle using the Perfect Pennants Bigz L Die (#123126) and the smallest pennant on that die. I then used my Paper Snips to slightly round the corners, just so they were not pointy. Then I used the new Houndstooth embossing folder (#123134) to give it a waffle look.
The reason I made two cupcakes is because I wanted to put a box inbetween them...
The box was simple to make with my new Simply Scored(#122334)!!!
Here are the dimensions for my box: 8" x 4"; Score at 1" along the long side, creating the bottom.
Then score the box at 1-1/4", 3-3/4", 5" and 7-1/2". It is pretty easy. Then assemble with sticky strip or tombow multipurpose glue. I adhered the cupcakes to my box with sticky strip.
It is a fun project and now I need to fill it with something sweet to give to a friend that really helped me out, you know when someone does something for you that they feel was nothing but it really meant so much to you, that is what this gift is for!!!
