It's Stampin' Royalty Challenge Day!  This week's challenge is MASCULINE CARDS!  Don't we all need some inspiration in that area?  And, just in time for Father's Day.  I don't know about you but I always have a few cards to make each year... husband, father, father-in-law.  And each guy is different and unique so I can not always make the same card for each of them.  If any of this sounds familiar then you must check out all the cards made for this week's challenge at Stampin' Royalty, starting with mine...

I made my card to match the Father's Day book and gift card holder I made for my husband already.  And to give my card that distressed look I used the Distressing Esstentials Kit (#118762), it is retiring, so if you do not have it you should get one before tomorrow!!! 

It has four distressing ink spots in the kit as well as a solid stamp.  You just ink up the solid stamp and rub the stamp across the object you want to distress.  It is fabulous!  It gives a much different look than a sponge.  You also have a sanding block, an emery board and 3 precision files.  A very fun accessory for all paper crafter's.

I also used the retiring Serif Essentials Alphabet Dies (#113464) to die cut the word "DAD" out of chipboard, which I covered with Well Worn Designer Paper (#122359).

Welcome Stampin' Friends!  

May, where did it go?  I just got back from our annual family camp trip to Herrick Reservoir near Cascade, Idaho.  It was a great time, my oldest daughter competed in her first Archery Competition and got 1st place!!!  I hope you had a great memorial day weekend.  And, as a military wife and sister I have to say a great big THANK YOU to all of the military families reading this! I know first hand the sacrafice is made by the entire family, so thank you to our soldiers and to the families that stay home and support them! 

I am thrilled to share with you the last two projects that are part of the May collection of tutorials at Craft Project Central!  First up is an Ornate Top Box and matching card that Kim Score designed. 

Kim tells us about her projects here: Do you enjoy wrapping up small gifts in special packages?  If so, this is the box for you!  The ornate top box paired with the beautiful Twitterpated designer paper is the perfect packaging for that special someone.  Adapt the box with other designer papers for great seasonal packaging too!  The end of the school year is quickly approaching and what teacher wouldn’t be impressed with a little something presented in this special box with the matching card?  Substitute the Well Worn masculine designer paper for male teachers!  This project makes for a fun class, club, or camp project!

LASTLY, is the BONUS project of the month.  Designed by ME!!!  I am in love with my creations this  month.  I am going to use them for my daughter's American Girl Birthday party in June!  It's a Vintage Birthday Party Ensemble. 

Vintage and paper crafting are a hot combination right now, so why not incorporate that in to a birthday celebration?  This ensemble is a great start for a special girl’s birthday.  The birthday crown would make any little girl feel special on her big day.  There is also a memories book; the pages fold out, so each party guest can write a special note to the birthday girl.  Save a spot in the book to insert a few party pictures as well.  And, no birthday party is complete with out party favors.  A pinwheel sets this party favor bag apart and would entice anyone to take a peek at the goodies inside.  These handmade vintage birthday pieces will give any birthday party that extra special feel that all birthday girls deserve.

This  month at Craft Project Central we have the most unique tutorials I have seen!  So, I am here to give you a sneak peek of six great tutorials you can get when you subscribe to May at Craft Project Central. See if you do not agree with me on how unique they really are!!! 

First, we have a Sailboat Party Favor and Pocket Card by Jennifer Timko. 

That is seriously cute!!!  Here is what Jennifer tells us about her creation:

I’m always looking for cute party favors and invitations for my own personal use, and my friends are always asking me if I have ideas for their parties too!  Well, here’s a super cute Sailboat Party Favor and invitation that could be used for a baby shower, or easily adapted for a birthday party!  Just add the children’s names to the flags on the boats and use the You’re Invited sentiment on the invitation!  Put a special treat in the Sailboat and it’s smooth sailing for a fun party with a darling theme!

Next up, with one of the COOLEST gift card holders EVER by...Amanda Corbet! Prepare yourself to be AMAZED!

This is an interactive gift card holder, it has moving pieces!  There is a video at Craft Project Central that will show you how super cool this really is, check it out now. 

Amanda tells us about her creation: Do you know someone who likes to work with wood?  Do you want to give them a gift card in a really special way?  Then this project would be perfect!  This interactive Table Saw Gift Card Holder will require the recipient to do just a little bit of work to get the gift card out, and in the process it looks like the table saw is cutting a piece of plywood! 

Tara Bourgoin designed this Tooth Fairy Ensemble...

For a child, losing their first tooth can be both exciting and scary!  And for the parents, it’s another passing moment that signifies that their "baby" is growing up.  This Tooth Fairy Door project is intended to help make the arrival of the Tooth Fairy enchanting and memorable for kids and their parents alike!

The Tooth Fairy door sits on the child’s nightstand, alongside the little bed and side table.  On the bed the child lays their tooth, and on the side table, they sign a "thank you" card.  When they go to sleep, the Tooth Fairy has a way to enter quietly into their room, take the tooth and the card, and in place leaves a little gift of money or a small toy.  On her way out, she leaves the door a bit ajar, so there is no mistaking that she has been there!

Need some graduation party ideas?  Christy Fulk has created some cute decorations that can be customized to the graduates school colors!

Here’s something new to try!  How about a gift card bouquet and a matching fun-fold card too!?!  After opening the gift card, your recipient can put the pretty bouquet on their desk to remind them of your gift and brighten up their day!  This is a great project for a teacher, co-worker, or anyone you want to give a little something special to!  This project is a fun class or camp project too!

Want to make something memorable for Dad this year, Heidi King has designed just the thing! 

Father’s Day is right around the corner!  Here’s a great gift that you can make and even have the kids help you!  Add a picture to the frame and give it with the matching card and you’re set!  Dad’s everywhere are sure to love this one!!

Challenge me!

Welcome Stampin' Friends!  

I have some cards to share with you today.  It is Challenge Day at Stampin' Royalty!  This week's challenge is a color challenge, check it out. 

This one was a REAL Challenge for me. For one thing I usually one use 3 colors, I don't know why, must be an OCD thing.  And, secondly, I don't usually go all Subtle colors, I tend to mix a subtle color with a darker color.  But, once again I surprised my self and was able to make a card I really like.  Which is why I love challenges, it streches me to make something I might not normally make. 

I needed to make a thank you card, so I took this opprotunity to get that done and hope the recipient likes it.  I worry becasue of the staples.  How do you feel about staples on cards?  Do you like them or do you think they make the card look trashy?  I like them on occassion.  I chose them on this card because I used the First Edition DSP, and it is talking about the invention of the typewriter, so I added some staples, and a metal clip.  It's like a little hint of things from the office.  Something that is so opposite from the soft colors and pretty flowers it gives the card that shabby chic feel.  

I also used another challenge for this card, the Creating Pretty Cards Challenge at Craft Project Central.  They have a fun sketch for this month and it inspired me when planning this card.

ONE MORE THING, I might have gotten a little crazy busy recently and did not post the card I made for last week's challenge at Stampin' Royalty!  But I did make the card and thought I would share it with you now. 

The challenge was a picture challenge. 

So pretty, huh.  Okay, here is my inspired card...

I loved the bright colors in the photo!  So, I ripped open my BRAND NEW In-Colors that I had just recieved!!! And got to playing!!!  The new In-Colors I used are...

Yummy colors!  I really could eat that Raspberry Ripple! You may have also noticed I used some new shapes!  The big label is from a new set of FRAMLITS!  And, so is the banner, a set of three framlit banners!  The ribbon is new to.  So many things to be excited about in this new catalog!  And we are only a few days away from it debute!

It is time for a Stampin' Royalty Challenge!  This week challenge is to use

PUNCHES!!!

That is an easy one for me,  I use punches on almost every creation! So, I wanted to go crazy with the punches for this one! 

I got my inspiration for the color combination from the Summer Smooches DSP, if you did not get some during the promotion in April, it will be available again in June, when the new catalog begins.  Which, BTW, I saw a sneek peek of and it is AMAZING!  I can not wait to have my own copy in my hands!!! It should arrive tomorrow, yeah!!! 

Anyhow, I used a lot of punches on my card, some of which are RETIRING!!!  I am very sad about it too!  Here is a list of the punches I used...

Time to share with you some amazing tutorials you can get from Craft Project Central!   First, let me share with you the second project I designed for CPC for April (you can still subscribe to April if you did not do so already).
