Hi Stampin' Friends!
I have been meaning to post about my daughter's Movie Star Birthday for a WHILE. As the party was in June. I had very little time to prepare for this party as I was in Texas just before, but am happy with how it all came together. My daughter wanted to have a "movie" birthday party.
Here is the invitation, which I made on My Digital Studio. It is my FAVORITE way to make invitations! I got the idea for this off Pinterest.
I like to browse the internet for FREE FONTS and there is where I found most of the fonts used here, including the bar code!!!
This invitation is a 7"x5" post card, when you get them printed with Stampin' Up! They come with very nice white envelopes. So, I like to design the back of the post card as well.
I really love how they turned out!
We searched and searched for what we were going to do for cake and settled on these cupcakes:
The "popcorn" on top are just mini marshmallows. You cut a slit in the center of the marshmallow, twist it and then cut three slits in one end of the marshmallow. You may want to press and pull the little ends made by the last three cuts to make it look more like a piece of popcorn. When I covered to the top of the cupcake with fake popcorn (8-10 pieces) I dusted them with edible luster dust, which I found at a big party store.
We also had a Consessions stand:
The banner says "movie treats". For the treats we had a Popcorn Bar! We had buttered popcorn, freshly made (mostly because I had to keep making more batches, I ended up making 11 batches total!) We had four toppings available to top your popcorn; m-n-m's, reece's pieces, gummy bears and goldfish crackers. It was a huge hit! The kids munched on this while watching our feature presentation: Wreck it Ralph. We wanted to do a "drive in" style movie in the back yard, but it does not get all the way dark here until 10pm! Too late for 6-9 year olds to start a movie! So, we sat on blankets inside.
We did play charades, where we acted out different Disney or other kid movies.
I found this fun picture opp piece at the party store too...
To make your next birthday party extra special I suggest trying My Digital Studio for your invitations!
You can try it for 30 days for FREE! And then it's only $20 to purchase!
Love the party theme and all your awesome ideas. Can you tell me the site you got the bar code. My daughter is hanging a destination wedding and we are thinking about ticket invitations . Thanks
