Hi Stampin' Friends!
Today I am sharing a card that I saw demonstrated at convention and how I added a piece to make this card work better. When I saw this card I LOVED it! The cuttest bday card, it looks like a present!
Here is how the card opens:
I found that when I opened this card the insert pulled up really well, but it did not slide back down easily at all! , especially with a layer on the pull out.
So, here is what I added to this card to fix that. (follow these pics to make this card)
1. Cut your card stock to 4-1/4" x 11". Score it at 1-1/2" and 7".
Cut your edge pieces to 1" x 3-7/8", you will need two of them, score both at 1/2" or down the middle.
Add sticky strip to both side of both edge pieces.
2. Adhere the edge pieces to the back of the card. Remove sticky strip backing and close the front of the card, adhering it down.
3. This gives the pocket of the card a little wiggle room. If you need more, help it out by putting your hand in the pocket and stretch it open more.
4. Add your designer paper: Daffodil Delight DSP = 1" x 4" and 1" x 4-1/4" (for scalloped piece), Strawberry Slush DSP = 1-1/2" x 4-1/4" and 1/2" x 1-1/2" (2) flag the ends of these. Also, add a strip of Basic Black card stock that is 1/8" x 4-1/4".
5. Add the insert: 3-1/2" wide x 4-1/4" long, score at 1/2". Adhere with sticky strip so it looks like this...
6. Add you inside sentiment or a GIFT CARD would be even more fun! Now add the bow (made with the new Bow Maker Die and polka dot embossing folder) and gift tag to the outside of you card.
