Hi Stampin' Friends! 

Today at Stampin' Royalty, challenge #200 is: ANYTHING GOES!!! 

So, I am sharing a card that I demonstrated last week at my group meeting of my downline and fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrators. 

This card all started because my downline and I wanted to figure out how to make a 3D paper star.  

 

Making a 3D star is really pretty easy.  

Here is a quick tutorial on how to make a 3D paper star: 

1.  I started by making and printing some star shapes from MDS.  Since I already did that work I thought I would just share it with you!  Here is a star pattern for you to print out and use. 

2. Cut out the star you want to use for your project (I used the star in the lower left hand corner).  Trace it onto the card stock or paper of you choice and cut that out.  

3. Using a ruler and stylus tool or bone folder, make score lines from each point to each valley. I scored mine on the back side, the side with the pencil marks. 

 When you are done scoring your star should look like this: 

4. Fold your star like this, fold each large point up or to the front of the star. 

5. Fold each short score line, the lines inbetween the large points, down.

This step is easily done by lining up and pressing together two large points and creasing the small fold.  

6. When all the lines are creased your star is done and should look like this: 

I brushed some ink on my star directly from the stamp pad before adhering it to my card.  I found putting a mini glue dot on at least 3 of the points is the best way to stick this star down.

File Folder Cards

Hi Stampin' Friends! 

When I saw the File Folder Card made with the Envelope Punch Board I was WOWed!  I gave it a try and it is SO MUCH FUN!  I made the two cards below for my demonstration at my downline meeting last month. 

Here are some step by step directions on how to make a file folder card: 

1. Start with a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" piece of card stock. Score in half at 4-1/4" and fold. 

2. Trim off 3/4" off one side of the card, this will be the front. 

3. With the Envelope punch board, punch the front of the card by lining the left side of the card  up with the left side of the opening of the punch. 

4. Slide the card over to the 3" mark and punch again. 

5. Trim off the excess; line the valley up with the cutting grove on your paper cutter and cut off only the excess piece creating the file folder look on the front of your card. 

6. Flip the card over and repeat these steps for the back of the card.  

7. Round the corners with the corner rounder on the punch board. 

And your file folder card is complete. 

 This wintery version is a pocket card, the ribbon is tied all the way around and you pull out the insert.  I did not use and adhesive to keep the card closed, but you could.

Tombstone Treat Box

Hi Stampin' Friends! 

It's Stampin' Royalty Challenge Day!  This week's challenge is a picture inspiration challenge: 

Here is my inspired Tombstone Treat Box or as I find myself calling it the RIP Treat Box. 

As I started making this box my it veared away from the picture a bit. But I loved how it turned out. 

Here is a mini tutorial on how to make my Tombstone Treat Box: 

1. Cut a Basic Gray piece of card stock to 8" x 11"

2. Score at 2" and 6" on the long side

3. Score at 3" and 8" on the short side, stopping at the 1st intersecting score line.  Flip the paper over and repeat this on the opposite side. 

4. Again on the short, 8" side, score at 4-1/2" anc 6-1/2", across the entire piece. 

5. Cut off the excess.

6. Create the flaps that will hold the box together, by snipping off the corners. 

7. Find something round to trace, to round the ends of the box into a tombstone shape.  I used a little terra cotta pot that sits on my desk. A large can (28 oz.) would work too. Cut along the traced line. 

8. I used Tombo Multipurpose Liquid Glue to hold my box together, but you could also use sticky strip.  Once the box is assembled, sponge the edges with Basic Gray ink.  Sponge the center by lightly pouncing an inked sponge on the surface.  This will give it more of a stone look. 

9. Decorate your tombstone box as you like, fill with goodies and then give it to someone who needs a special treat. 

For the "RIP" I use the "BOO" stamp from the Bite Me stamp set.  I colored the "B" with a marker for each letter, making it into a "R" and "I" and a "P".

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Invite

Hey Stampin' Friends!  

I have been busy working on invitations for a client who is having a Mickey Mouse Birthday party for her son.  I made 4 different cards and she choose her favorite.  This is one of the cards that she did not pick.  

I decided to to a card based on the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. 

Pretty fun card!  I love how it turned out, it really looks like the clubhouse!

Mini Muslin Treat Bag

The Polka Dots on my Bag are done using a polka dot stencil from the Build a Banner Simply Created Kit. I used the end of the stencil that does not have the circle, as well as a sponge dauber and Basic Black ink pad.  Make sure your ink pad is freshly inked for this project. P ut a piece of scrap chipboard about 3-3/4" x 6" inside your bag, so the polka dots do not bleed through to the other side.

ink: basic black, whisper white, metallic gold encore pad, pumpkin pie marker

paper: basic black card stock, brushed gold cs, calypso coral cs

Swallowtail Color Challenge

Hey Stampin' Friends! 

It's Stampin' Royalty Challenge Day!  This week is a color challenge!  And I have to say these colors were a challenge for me.  But in the end I had fun with it and came up with a card that was a step out of the box for me.  I love how it turned out and how the blue ribbon pops. 

I should pause here to tell you that my "orange" is not Tangerine Tango, it is Calypso Coral.  I worked on my card as my daughter was doing school on the computer, I peeked really quick over her shoulder at the colors and oops. 

I really wanted a piece of Marina Mist ribbon for this card but did not have just what I wanted, but I did have Baja Breeze seam binding.  So, I took out my Marina Mist marker and colored the ribbon with it,  I colored here and there, not coloring it all the way.  Then I spritzed it with water and the color blended.  I then wadded up the ribbon and let it dry.  

You can see here that I spritzed the background with Silver Smooch Spritz (retired). I love how it gives the whole card a shimmer. Another thing I love about this card are the Rhinstones.  I colored them with a gold Sharpie marker. I had fun making this card, but now it is time to pop it in the mail!

Circle Thinlit Elf Card

HEY Stampin' Friends!!! 

Since my Frankie, Mrs. Frankie, Mummy and Owl cards with the Circle Thinlits the wheels in my head are turning, ideas for more and  more "face" cards are spinning around in there!  Here is the latest idea.

Want to make your own Elf Card???  Here are a few tips and pics to help you out. 

Die cut your Circle card from Very Vanilla card stock

Adhere a 3/4" x 6" strip of Gumball Green card stock (sponge the top and sides w/ GG) across the top of the card, about 1/4" of the strip will hang off the top of the card. Adhere a Whisper White strip of card stock that has been die cut with the Tasteful Trims die, also 6" long. Trim the ends if neccesary.  

Adhere a sponged 1" x 6" strip of stripped DSP from the Season of Style Designer Series Paper Stack across the bottom of the card.  

Use a ruler and a stylus tool to trace over the score lines. 

For the hat cut a 5" x 2" piece of Gumball Green card stock in half diagonally.  Use one piece for the had, sponge all side.  Punch out one 3/4" scallop circle from Whisper White Card stock for the pom pom on the hat.  Mount the hat to the card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue, mount the pom pom with a dimensional.  

You may need to trim one of the scallops on the white scallop trim so that the card flips properly. 

Adhere the eyes and nose. 

Large Eye: 1-3/4" Circle - Whisper White, 3/4" Circle - Basic Black

Medium Eye: 1-3/8" Circle - Whisper White, 1/2" Circle - Basic Black

Small Eye: 1-1/4" Circle - Whisper White, Circle from Itty Bitty Punch Pack - Basic Black 

Nose: Small Oval - Very Vanilla - sponge edges with Pink Pirouette ink. 

For the ear, punch out one oval from Very Vanilla card stock with the Extra-Large Oval Punch.  Using a sticky note as a handle, insert the oval into the 1-1/4" circle punch and take a "bite" out of one side of the oval.  (like my recycled post it, you can see my daughter used it as scratch paper for her math)  :)

Using your Paper Snips, cut/trim the top of the oval to make a pointy ear. 

Sponge the edges of the ear with Pink Pirouette ink. Adhere to card. 

Cut two 1"x1" pieces of Cherry Cobbler Card stock and two 1" x 2" strips of DSP (sponge all edges with Cherry Cobbler ink). 

Snip one side of the Cherry Cobbler piece, making fringe for the scarf. Adhere that to the end of the scarf piece.  Repeat this step with the other Cherry Cobbler Square and DSP piece. 

Adhere the two pieces togther like this: 

Cover the end where the two piece are adhered with a 1" circle punch from the same paper and sponged.  Adhere this scarf piece with dimensionals to the left side of the card only.  Draw in a mouth with a Basic Black marker. Sponge in a rosey cheek with a Sponge Dauber and Pink Pirouette. 

For the inside circle, die cut one the scallop from the Circle Thinlits in Cherry Cobbler Card Stock.  Stamp and punch out the saying from the Tags 4 You set in Gumball green. 

And Mr. Elf is done!

Simply Stars Card Candy

Hey Stampin' Friends! 

I have another card candy creation to share with you today.  I did a swap with my group at convention, where we just swapped a focal piece, "card candy".  Then we take it home and make something with it. 

This card candy was designed by my friend and downline Georgie Manning. 

It's so pretty I didn't have to do much, except add it to a card front, I love all the details!!  

I mounted it to a Costal Cabana card with a Shimmer White panel on top. I stamped and embossed the Season's Greetings  (from theJoy to the World Stamp Set) by stamping the image in Coastal Cabana Classic Ink and embossing it with Clear Powder.

I love card candy, I was able to whip up this cute card in not time at all!

Circle Thinlits Owl Card

Hey Stampin' Friends!  

Once I started making faces with the Circle Thinlits I knew I had to make an owl card with them! Cause, I might have a little owl thing. 

I made this a thank you card, because my friend found a cup at Dutch Brother for hot or cold beverages with an owl on it and got it for me!!!!  It's perfect for my morning Super Food drink, it makes it alot more fun to drink!  

This is just about the CUTEST thing ever!  I like how it looks like his head is turned!

Here's a few Flippin' Owl Card tips: 

Use the Oval Framelits to create the wings;

*Crumb Cake card stock for the large scalloped oval

*Crumb Cake polka dot patterned paper from the Season of Style Designer Paper Stack for the largest smooth oval.  

Adhere the two ovals together and cut in half.  Adhere them to the front of the Circle card and trim off the excess. 

Insert the top corner of the card into the Label Bracket Punch, punch to create the owls "ear".  Repeat with the other corner of the card. 

Add the beak; made with the heart from the Circle Thinlits set and Crisp Cantaloupe card stock, sponged with Calypso Coral ink.

Add the eyes (circle punches used listed below in order from largest to smallest)

Largest Eye: 2-1/2" , 1-1/4", and 3/4"

Medium Eye: 1-3/4", 1", 1/2"

Small Eye: 1-3/8", 3/4" circle from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack

For the bow, die cut two hearts from the Circle Thinlits set from Calypso Coral card stock, sponge the edges with Calypso Coral ink.  Adhere the points of the hearts together.  With a Mini Glue Dot add a Crisp Cantaloupe Boutique Details Button in the center.  

Another Thank You Photopolymer Stamp Set

Use the Another Thank You Photopolymer Stamp set for the inside greeting. Color the image with the Baked Brown Sugar Marker, taking care NOT to ink the bottom of the "y" or the "dash".  

Stamp the image on Crisp Cantaloupe and die cut with the scallop circle from the Circle Thinlits set.  Fill in the "y" to make it a "w" and add the missing hearts with the writing tip of the Bake Brown Sugar marker. Ink and stamp "so much" .

Flippin' over Frankie and Mummy!

Hey Stampin' Friends!  

If you have not yet purchase the new Circle Card Thinlits,  YOU NEED TO!  They are WAY TOO MUCH FUN!  

Last week at my Treasured Stamper's Shoe Box swap two people (Patty Sowell and Rebecca Heinrich) both made a Frankie card with these Thinlits.  Since I had two of the same card I gave one a make over when I got home and now Frankie has a MRS.!!!  

Aren't they so sweet!  Quite the couple!  I added a bow made with the retired Butterfly punch and 3/4" circle as well as a 1/4" circle for a wart.

Pull the card open, the eye ball flips and here is the inside:

I love the idea of the face done on the Circle Thinlit card so I decided to make a Mummy card for my card at the Shoebox swap.  Here is my Mummy card...

I think he is SO cute!  I added a rhinestone spider as he seemed a little plain and needed a special touch.

Here's some quick steps to making your Mummy Card...

*Tear your strips of vanilla card stock

*sponge them with Crumb Cake ink

*Adhere the strips to a 5-1/2" x 6" piece of vanilla card stock with Mulitpurpose Liquid Glue (see pic below)

*Die cut your Circle card with the Circle Thinlit.

*Save some torn strips for the eyes, so your mummy looks like he is peaking out of his wrappings!  

*Color a Jumbo Rhinestone with a black Sharpie marker for the body of the spider. 

*Add a knot of 7/16" Natural Trim and adhere it to the card front with a Mini Glue Dot.

Glittered Pumpkin Card

Hello my Stampin' Friends! 

Today at Stampin' Royalty we have a picture challenge: 

Wish that was my mantle, it even has an owl on it!!!  This picture happens to go really well with the 3 projects I made for my Craft Project Central Tutorial. Since I had already made some home dècor items I thought I would make a pumpkin card.  You know how you can buy those glittery faux pumpkins?  That's the look I was going for with this card.  Be prepared to be dazzzled with all the glitter!!!

Here's how I made it: 

1. Ink an entire 4-1/4" x 11" piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock with VersaMark ink.  Emboss it with Heat and Stick Powder.  Pour on Fine Orange Glitter.  Tap off excess.  Heat set.  Die cut 3 oval using the second to largest smooth oval from the Ovals Collection Framelits. 

2. Die cut an "oval card" by folding a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock in half.Run it through your Big Shot with the largest oval from the Ovals Collection Framelits, so that the oval is mostly on the folded card stock. The top of the oval, where the fold in the card stock is, will hang off the card stock so that you are cutting out an oval shapped card with a fold at the top.  It should look like this...

3. Hand draw a stem on Chocolate Chip card stock and cut it out.  Press your stem into the Versamark pad, emboss it with Heat and Stick powder.  Dip that into brown glitter.Or Iridescent Ice embossing powder can be used in place of Heat and Stick and Brown glitter if you do not have the retired brown glitter.  Repeat the Versamark, Heat and Stick Powder and Glitter process (green glitter) with a piece of Old Olive card stock and then die cut it into a leaf using the Autumn Accents Bigz Die. 

4. Mount the stem to the card base.  Mount the two outside ovals first and the middle oval last. Adhere leaf with Mini Glue Dots.  Take a long piece of Linen Thread, double it over and tie a bow.  Mount that to card front with a Mini Glue dot so that it covers the stem of the leaf. 

6. Die cut two Scribbles Swirls from the Sizzlit by the same name (retired) from Champaigne Glimmer Paper.  Tip: Die cut one with the paper face up and one with the paper face down so they work on the card front.  Mount these to the front of the card with Mini Glue dots, roll them so they fit on the small pieces of the swirls.   

Stamp the Happy Thanksgiving image from the Tags 4 You stamp set on Whisper White Paper with Early Espresso Ink.  Quicly apply Iridescent Ice embossing powder and emboss the image.  Then punch it out with the Label Bracket Punch. Mount this to the card with dimensionals.  

There it is, The Glittered Pumpkin Card!
