How do you feel about leftovers 2 days in a row - Meh.
Since we are talking about Paper Pumpkin and not dinner, it's a good thing!
Yesterday I showed you how I used the left over star confetti sheets from the All Shook Up December Paper Pumpkin kit to make cards. (Keep reading to the bottom of the post to learn how you can win the December PP kit!) Today I am going to show you how I used the negative pieces left over from the sayings to make cards. And another use for the left over star confetti sheet!
First step in making this "leftover" card is to use the star confetti sheet as a stencil!
Here's the play by play...
I choose to use the colors in the kit, Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding, Bermuda Bay and Smokey Slate. I have a sponge for each. I am using a note card again for my card base, love them! I put a bit of adhesive on the back of the card and stuck it to my grid paper so it does not move on me.
And so the stencil does not move I stuck that down over my card right where I want it with some blue tape. Blue tape is not just for painters! It's for crafters, teachers and moms too! It stick and peals off so nice! Just be careful not to tape over any stars.
Use a scrap of paper to cover up the sections you dont want to sponge. I sponged the Strawberry Slush section with Strawberry Slush ink. If you sponged the stencil from the back you could still use the sheet for the cards I made yesterday.
Here is the finished background. PRETTY.
And here is my how to on using the "leftover" saying pieces for your card font.
Using the grid paper, a ruler and pencil; draw a line where you want to cut the piece apart. Take this to the paper cutter and line up the pencil line in the cutting grove of your paper cutter.
I gues I should have started by telling you to save all those TINY pieces that you pop out of the center of the letters! Once you have cut your saying to the size you want mount that to a Whisper White panel, then adhere your tiny pieces with green glue. You will need the glue because the little pieces loose there sticky fast and we want them to STAY put!
Before mounting the saying to my card I sponged the edge with the same color of ink, Strawberry Slush for the happy birthday. Then I mounted it to a Smokey Slate piece of card stock that I also sponged the edge of with Smokey Slate ink.
To the card I added a piece of White Satin ribbon left over from June's Paper Pumpkin kit!
No need to go all the way across, because that is where I am mounting my saying.
Add a sprinkling of sequins.
And stamp the inside of the card.
I love putting my "leftovers" to good use!
Thanks for stopping by the carriestamps blog!
