The challenge is ON at Stampin' Royalty!
Challenge #259 - to make a ONE LAYER CARD!!!
Could I do it??? Would it be cute??? Is it possible???
Those are a few of the questions that ran through my mind as I set to making a card for this week's challenge. I decided on a collage image stamp set that is about to be released from Stampin' Up!'s upcoming Occasions Catalog called Butterfly Basics. I am in love with it and thought it would make a nice one layer card. It was made to layer the stamped images on card stock. I got a little inspiration from a card I found on Pinterest created by Michelle Last.
I used the coordinating Butterflies Thinlits Dies to cut the butterfly window in the front of the card. Then I stamped the matching butterfly image on the inside of the card, so you can see it through the window.
I wanted to the saying to stand out so I stamped it first in Sahara Sand ink and then again in Soft Suede. I was able to almost line them up perfectly since this set comes in Photopolymer, but not quite, giving it a drop shadow effect. I am happy with how my one layer card turned out and I know I will be using this set a lot more! You will be able to order yours when the Occasions catalog is released on January 6th, 2015. Here's a look at the cover of it as well as the Sale-A-Bration Catalog.
If you would like a copy of these catalogs, I would love to send you one! Just leave me a comment below.
Here are the fun things I used on this card (besides the Butterfly Basics stamp set and Butterflies Thinlits Dies, available January 6th):
note: I used the heat tool to set the Basic Black ink as it can smear, try heat setting your images stamped in Basic Black just as you would if you were embossing and you will not have to worry about the smear.
