I'm back again today with my Stampin' Royalty Challenge Project.
Challenge #262 is a picture challenge.
My creation.
I just HAD to make a big yellow flower! And my new Bouquet Bigz Die was sitting there, new and barely used, one thing led to another...
You might need a little tutorial on how I made this flower. There are so many options with this new die! Four different sized petals so you can make many different sized flowers. This one here is about 4" in diameter.
Here is how I made my big yellow flower:
1. Die cut 10 of petal #3 and 8 of petal #4. Use your bone folder to curl the petals. This helps break down the fibers in the paper making them easier to manipulate, gives them a more natural shape and even gives each petal some texture.
2. Hot glue 5 of the large petals so that the two flaps just barely overlap. Glue the other 5 large petals so that the flaps overlap a bit more, making the petals stand up a little more. Hot glue all 8 of the small petals so that they over lap like the last five petals.
3. Hot glue the 5 petals together that overlap a little, creating a 5 point flower. Hot glue the 5 petals together that overlap a little more, creating a second 5 point flower. Hot glue 4 of the small petals together, creating a 4 point flower. Repeat with the remaing four, creating a second 4 point flower.
4. Layers your flowers starting with the first 5 point flower you made, glueing the second 5 point flower to the top of it, off setting the petals so they don't exactly line up with the flower on the bottom. Then hot glue one of the 4 point flowers to the top of this, taking care not to line up the petals again. Repeat, adding the last 4 point flower.
5. Die cut 3 yellow "spokes" pieces and 9 white "spokes" pieces from the Bouquet Bigs Die.
6. Bend and fold these pieces so that the "spokes" are standing up.
7. Hot glue the 3 yellow pieces in the center of your flower and the 9 white pieces all around the yellow pieces, encircling it.
Now you are ready to use your fun big flower!
