Layers of Gratitude Alternate Project

I got my February Paper Pumpkin kit in the mail yesterday and wasted no time making the card from the kit.  As I always do when making the project from the kit I was thinking about what else I could do with the kit.  

Here is the card you make with the kit. 

Once you peal off and use the felt letters to make the word "THANKS", you have a sheet that still says "THANKS", the negative piece.  I wanted to use this piece to make a card. 

Pretty cool right!!! 

Here's how I did it. 

1. The felt sheets come with two "THANKS" on them, so you need to cut it in half. I cut mine using a ruler, self healing mat and an X-acto knife. 

 

2. The sides and top now need trimmed so that they match all the way around.  Again, I used the ruler and X-acto knife. 

3. To create the stamped background for the letters I cut 6 pieces of Whisper White card stock to 1-1/8 x 2-1/4.  Then I stamped them with the back ground stamps from the set. 

4. Peal off the backing from the "THANKS" and adhere the stamped panels to cover the letters. 

5. Add some adhesive and stick to the front of your card, size 7-1/4" x 6-1/2", scored at 3-1/4". 

I also made an envelop for this cutie.  I use a 9" x 9" square of designer paper and my Envelope Punch Board to make it.  Follow the directions for the 3-1/2" x 7-1/2" card on the punch board itself.  The flaps are a little big, I snipped some of my inside one off. Then I stamped the outside flap with the "I just wanted to say..." stamp from the kit. 

I love fun sized cards that are not your typical size! 

Tie off the card with a bit of the twine from the kit and you got a great card only adding Whisper White card stock and a sheet of designer paper for the envelope.  NICE!
