Good Morning my Stampin' Friends! Today I have a card for you that I designed for SSINKspirations challenge to use CHALK INK. Have you seen our new Chalk Ink and Chalkboard paper on page 25 of the Occasions Catalog? They are yummy! Take a look at my creation and I will tell you all about these fun new products.
The background, black balloon and the birthday banner are all done with the Chalkboard paper and stamped with the ColorBox Chalk Ink.
The Chalkboard Paper is very thick and sturdy. One side is smooth and has the look of an actual chalk board, this is the side you stamp on with the Chalk Inks and can write on with the Chalk Marker. The other side has a more "card stock" look to it and you can stamp the Whisper White Craft Ink on this side.
The Chalk Ink is a little different than inks you may be use to. It is a permanent ink and it gives a realistic chalk effect so it has some transparency to it. You will be able to see through it. I suggest that you order the pad and the ink refill at the same time. You will need to add ink to these pads a little more frequently than other kinds of pads. Please note that you need to shake up your ink refill bottle prior to using it. And, if you find you are not getting enough color when stamping with this ink, just add a little ink to the pad and you'll be good to go.
Here are the products I used to make this card:
