Tap, tap, tap

As you may know, this month I guest designed for Craft Project Central.  But, you may not know that each month they have a card sketch challenge!  It's called Creating Pretty Cards and this is the sketch for challenge #47. 

I decided to play along with the challenge to finish out my month as a designer. 

I'm not sure why but right away I decided I wanted to use the Tap,Tap,Tap stamp set for this card.  I like the vintage feel to it.  Just to take that vintage feel up a notch I used the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set, I set I feel you can not live with out, just sayin'!  Sometimes you just gotta splatter things, right? 

I did pull out a few of my new goodies to use on this card as well! 

I used two of new In-Colors; Mint Macaron and Tip Top Taupe.  I am digging these new colors!  I paired them with Early Espresso.  Did you notice the newly redesigned Neutrals Collection Designer Paper.  The script pattern is so fun and in this stack you will also find a larger polka dot pattern, bubble like pattern and diagonal stripes.  You get all these patterns in the following colors; Basic Black, Basic Gray, Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, GOLD, Sahara Sand, Smokey Slate, SILVER and Soft Suede.  40 sheets of DSP for just $22.  Yeah, I thought it was pretty neat-o too!  

But possibly one of my favorite new thing is this!!!!!! 

Say hello to the 1" Dotted Lace Trim!  It comes in 5 YUMMY NEW IN-COLORS!  

Do these things excited you as much as they do me?  Well, when you get your hands on this ribbon you will understand why I call is yummy!  It is so soft and pretty, I want to add it to all my clothing!  I am gonna work on making something I can wear out if it, FOR SURE!

You make me smile!

Today I made some thank you notes for some special people, my customers! I couldn't wait to get in my stamp room today.  After completing our homeschooling year yesterday, this Mom is ready for summer break!  Just as much or more so than my kids!  

I LOVE this camera stamp, Snapshot!  And it is retiring, so if you love it too, make sure you get it by JUNE 1st!  I stamped and embossed the camera, the heat gun was melting the embossing powder and my stress at the same time.  I got lost in the coloring, the weight of the world was suddenly not on my shoulders. I call it Stampin' Therapy.  You should try it! 

How about that fun designer paper, it makes me happy!  It's called Confetti Celebration.  I used it on my Teacher Happy Meals.  Every year we get new designer paper when the new catalog comes out, which means this paper is leaving to make room for the new!  But there is still time for you to get your own pack if it makes you happy too! 

Isn't is so cool embossed in black!  I think this is a great stamp to use in your Project Life albums.  I enjoy making custom cards sometimes to go with our super cool card collections and this stamp found it's way into my album. 

These little cuties will be in my customers bags with their orders.  I like to write a personalized note to them on a post it note so they can use the card again if they like.  Kinda like a little gift from me and a thank you all rolled into one.

What's Old is New!

What a fun challenge we have today at Stampin' Royalty! 

The challenge was to take something we created a while ago and make it new again. 

I chose a card from one of our sketch challenges about 3 years ago!  I love this stamp set that had an ice-cream cone!  And the fun paper we had to coordinate with it.  Here is the "old" card. And the sketch I created it for. 

I make this card "new" again I used our about to be released stamp set called Sprinkles of Life.  It is the cutest set in our new catalog, at least that's what I think!  And the best part about it is when you purchase this set SU! will donate $3 to the Ronald McDonald House charity!  I love that! 

I also used the new Designer Series Paper Stack, Cherry on Top.  It's pretty cute paper!  And you might notice that the red and green I used here look different??? Well, they are two of our new In-Colors!  Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush, fast favorites!  Sounds like something I would make with my juicer!  That might just be my breakfast this morning!  I know, I am weird, here we are looking at a card with a triple decker ice-cream cone on it and I am thinking about green juice! I love my green juice, what can I say? 

The clouds were punched out with the new punch that coordinates with this stamp set, Tree Builder Punch. Because that shape can also punch out the top of the tree and clouds, its a GREAT punch. 

Another great punch I used it the Cupcake Builder Punch, which is where the cherry came from.  And to make it match the feel of the ice-cream images I used the Watermelon Wonder marker to add the lines and detail to the punched out cherry.

To hold a gift card.  The gift card holder was made with the Thinlit die, Gift Card Envelope and the Cherry on Top DSP.

CASEing Jenny G

 Today at SSINKspiration we are CASEing one of our fellow design team members.  I decided to case Jennifer Gregorsky.  I loved the project she did a few weeks back, making a Happy Meal teachers gift.  I knew I had to make them myself! 

 

Here are the components to the Happy Meal... 

The Hamburger Box holds a post it note paddy.  

The Fry Box holds Highlighter "fries". 

The Milk Carton holds a silver Sharpie Marker for it's straw. 

I found the cute little baskets at the grocery store, they are selling a lot of picnic/bbq items right now.  The are perfect little holder for my Teacher Happy Meal.

create for SR#278

I was so excited when I learned that one of our upcoming challenges at Stampin' Royalty were these fun colors...

Because I had a project I was working on and really needed to finish it.  But I was stuck and did not know what I wanted to do to finish it.  The project started with a Mom's night out with some friends of mine to a place called Kindling.  There you pick out a wooden element that you want to decorate.  They have all kinds of shapes and pieces for you to pick from.  And then you shop the store for paint, paper, ribbons, buttons and more to decorate your piece.  It was so much fun! 

I picked the letters to spell the word "create" for my new stamp studio. I got them painted and sanded while I was there. I brought them home to finish, since my stamp studio is very well equipped with paper, ribbons, buttons and more.  Does that make me sound more or less like a hoarder?  

Any how, once I got my fun little letters home I knew right away that I wanted to add polka dots and stripes to the letters. So I added a little white to my two paint colors to make them a lighter tint of the original color. Then I used my Dots and Stripes Decorative Masks and a sponge to add polka dots to the top half off the letters and stripes to the bottom halves.  I LOVED how it turned out.  

BUT THEN, the dilemma of what paper to put on them hit. And for a couple of weeks now I've been stuck. I even asked my social media friends for their vote:

BLACK and WHITE or GOLD?

Most of the votes were for Black and White, but I loved the gold.  So it sat, since May 3rd, it sat there on my table. I kept laying different configurations of paper on it. 

Then when I saw this color challenge I knew I was going to do GOLD!  Till I sat down to do it, finally the creative juices were flowing and I decided not to go with just one of the picks or just paper.  And this is the result. 

I love how it turned out, sometimes you just have to walk away from something and come back to it when the creative juices are flowing. 

For the "c" I tied a piece of black satin ribbon around it. And added a punched out heart to dangle from it.  

I wrapped Gold Sequin Trim around the "r".  Then I found a black button that I had saved from who knows what and added that to the center and topped it off with a bit of Coastal Cabana thick twine. 

Here's a little sneak peek, the lace flower I added to the first "e" uses a new product, 1" Dotted Lace Trim in Watermelon Wonder, which is a new color!  It matched my paint perfectly!  I stitched a running stitch down the edge and then pulled it tight to make the flower.  To top it off I added a little circle of Gold Glimmer Paper. The ruffled ribbon is a retired item that I had hiding in my closet. So, glad I saved that! 

I used some more of the Coastal Cabana Twine and wrapped it around the "a".  And topped it off with a black scrunchie flower that I made using the Petite Petals Punch. 

"t" got wrapped with Gold Glimmer Paper.  I added another new product to this one, a Watermelon Wonder Blossom Accent!  And a black die cut branch. 

And finally I used some of the black paper and a cute little button. 

I am thrilled to finally have something cute for decor for my stamp room, however, now I need a little shelf to set it on, hmmm.

Painted Petals for Mother's Day

Today at SSINKspiration we are sharing our favorite product that is retiring, mine is the Dictionary Background Stamp.  I love using this stamp for all styles of cards for a subtle background, like I did here with this Mother's Day Card. 

The Painted Petals set, that I used on the background,  is also going away, it is available now in the Occasions Catalog and once that ends on June 2nd, you can no longer get it.  As well as the Painted Blooms Designer Paper that goes with it! I used a small piece of it on this card, which does the paper no justice, the patterns on this paper are amazing.  So, if you love these things you will want to get them before you can't and are sad about it! 

The last retiring thing I used that I want to share with you is the clay flower in the center that I made using the Simply Pressed Clay and the Buttons and Blossoms Molds.  I died the clay first using my Rose Red Ink Refill and then pressed in to one of the flowers on the mold.  Love it!  They are so light weight, perfect for a special touch on a card.  And this card will be great for my mom, as she is allergic to flowers!  These are the kind of flowers she can enjoy.  I made this card to go with my Painted Petals Journal Clutch and basket of note cards that will be her gift.

Just Kidding Greeting Card Set

Hi Stampin' Friends! 

Today I am back with another tutorial from Craft Project Central.  Each week I will be sharing with you a few of the tutorials that are part of a May 2015 subscription to Craft Project Central.  I am sharing these because I was asked to be a guest designer for CPC this month!  I will be sharing my tutorial with you later this month.  Today I am sharing Regina Andari's  "Just Kidding" Greeting Card Set, well a peek at it at least.  If you like what you see it's only $10 for a subscription to CPC and you will get ALL TEN tutorials for this month!

Graduation Card

It's Stampin' Royalty challenge day!  

This week our challenge is: GRADUATION! 

I have several friends who's children are graduating this year, makes me feel kinda old(ish). So, I will be sending out a few of these cards.  Which is why I wanted to make it easy to replicate, but still cute. 

And the black and gold seems like a pretty general graduation colors. I don't want to offend anyone.  

To give this card that little something special I embossed the sentiment from the Bravo Stamp set in Gold embossing powder on Basic Black cardstock.  I LOVE how it turned out. 

Speaking of LOVE did you know the designer paper I used here is part of our valentines collection!?!  The BEST thing about the Stacked with Love designer paper stack is that the back of every piece is a black and white pattern!  It makes me so happy, I have been using this paper more than any other DSP.  

Gold Glimmer Paper on Gold Foil paper, I know, it's to die for!  I am working on another project and used this combo, and now I can not stop!

Birthday Bash Ensemble

Today I am sharing the second tutorial being released at Craft Project Central for May. This tutorial was created by my fellow design team member, Christy Fulk.  

 

This cute birthday ensemble includes a birthday party invitation, a special pop-up box card for the birthday girl or boy, and a party favor box that will hold little goodies and treats for each guest. All three projects are made with the Celebrate Today Stamp Set, Balloon Framelits Dies, and Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Series Paper. The party favor box is made with the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies, and has a little balloon-shaped window that gives a sneak peek of the items inside.
