This past weekend we got to go camping with some friends, we had a great time. My favorite part of the weekend was the exploring drives we went on, all crammed in my husbands truck. We saw so many deer, even a momma and baby fawn! We also so some elk! I love Idaho! We found some natural hot springs and even hiked to a secluded mountain lake! Here we all are, minus my hubby who took the picture.
My second favorite thing was stamping with my friend Amber, seen here on the far left. She is a brand new Paper Pumpkin subscriber, so we thought it would be fun to do her first PP box together. Well, time got away from us and we did not have a chance until this camping trip. So we brought our boxes and made them together. And that is why you have not see my MAY PP projects until now. I did not take any pictures of us stamping and am sad about that but I happen to be baking cookies while we stamped. As I have recently been told what I do is not considered camping but GLAMPING. An now that I am typing this and think about Amber and I stamping in my camper while I baked cookies I guess it's true.
Here is what you get in the May Paper Pumpkin kit, Birthday Bundle. The perfect glamping craft kit!
*5 piece stamp set
*Tangerine Thick Twine
*Demensionals
*Island Indigo Stampin' Spot
*6 Designer Card Bases
*6 Whisper White Envelopes
* Die cut decorative strips, balloons, banners, circle and tags
*Direction Sheet
*8 Sheets of Daffodil Delight Tissue Paper
*4 Designer Gift Bags
NOW THAT is a haul!
With this kit you have the supplies to make 6 birthday cards and 4 gift bags.
Here are the cards....
The card in the top left corner is the card that the directions show to make. I made each of my cards different just by changing where I put the decorative strip and the stamped circle.
Here is the gift bag shown in the directions.
You use one sheet of the tissue paper, keep it folded as it is in the packaging and then fold it in half again. Put this behind the balloons that are like windows into the box! You will still have enough tissue paper left over with this kit to wrap up your gift!
So I thought I would leave the bags flat like this and then put the tissue paper in when I had a gift to give. But then I thought it might be fun to put DSP behind the windows.
So, I pulled out my Cherry On Top paper pack and found two fun Crushed Curry patterns. I cut the paper to 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" and used two squares for each bag.
I now had one more bag to do and thought it would be cool to use the card front with the stripes behind the balloons!
Love the stripes! But that left me with a partial card front!
So I decided to do a floating card with it, like I did HERE.
First I die cut an extra circle from Tangerine Tango card stock and put it behind the stamped circle. Then I mounted this to the card, putting my adhesive only at the top.
Lay the decorative strip at the bottom of the card. Then add some adhesive to the bottom of the stamped circle, close the card pressing the circle to the decorative strip.
Now it just needs some cute things, like ribbon and a balloon.
Now your card has a little peek-a-boo window to the inside.
