I loved this card so much I decided to make another version of it!
This mint chocolate chip version is one of the card we made at my stamp club on Saturday. The green is our new Cucumber Crush In-Color, love it! What a fun, bright color, I know I will be using it a lot! I made a few changes besides the colors. To color the top of the cupcake I embossed the stamped image, so when I colored it with the blender pens I did not smear the stamped lines.
Did you know you could embossed with Stampin' Up!'s Classic Ink pads??? You can if you work quickly. So, I stamped the cupcake top with Cucumber Crush Classic ink and then poured clear embossing powder over that. Shake off the excess powder. Heat emboss it till the powder melts. Then I colored it in using my Blender Pen and Cucumber Crush ink.
The little chocolate chip candy dots are pretty easy to make yourself! I punched out three little circles from Chocolate Chip cardstock using my Cupcake Builder Punch. Adhered them to the paper where I wanted using "green glue" or Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Then I covered the top with Crystal Effects! Just remember to let the little guys dry before you put the card in an envelope. It will take 30 minutes or so depending on how thick your Crystal Effects is. So make the DIY candy dots your last step on this card.
I love this card so much I might make them in all the new colors! And you can change out the "DAD" for someones name using the Little Letters Thinlits, or just leave that part off and stamp Happy Birthday on the inside of the card. How nice that the Sprinkles of Life set just to happens to have a Happy Birthday Stamp in it!
