Hello my Stampin' Friends! Today at Stampin' Royalty we have a color challenge.
I just really wanted to play with my new stamp set Watercolor Wings and the It's Wild Background Stamp and that's how I came up with this card. Just by playing with my fun new stamps and dies.
The large butterfly is from the new Watercolor Wings stamp set. You use three different stamps to create on image, laying the images on top of each other to get a detailed, multi-colored image. For the first layer of this butterfly I used Tangelo Twist, but stamped it off on my scratch paper first, making it lighter. For the second later I just Soft Suede and the third layer I used Tangelo Twist, full strength.
You can also see here the gold thread behind the butterfly, that is another of our new products that came out with the release of the 2015-2016 Stampin' Up! catalog.
And I used multiple images behind the butterfly to create a collage in Old Olive ink and Soft Suede ink. The dots border image is from the Watercolor Wings set and the fern and post mark images are from the Butterfly Basics set.
The cute little die cut butterfly is from the Bold Butterfly Framelit set. You can get the Watercolor Wings stamp set and the Bold Butterfly Framelits together in a bundle for $36.50!
The little butterfly is from the Butterfly Basics stamp set, which you will love if you love the Watercolor Wings set. You can get the Butterfly Basics stamp set in a bundle with the Butterflies Thinlits. And those Thinlits coordinate with both of the butterfly stamp sets!
My finishing touch were DIY epoxy sticker dots. I punched out three circles from Old Olive card stock using the Cupcake Builder Punch. I glued these to the card front and then covered them with Crystal Effects.
Thanks for stopping by my blog! Be sure to visit Stampin' Royalty to see what my fellow design team members have created and please play along with our challenge!
What a gorgeous card, I wasn't quite convinced about the background stamp when I saw it in the cattie, but you have used it in a beautiful way and I'm really inspired!
