Tomorrow is the BIG DAY! The day the new Holiday Catalog goes LIVE, meaning that's they day you can start ordering from it! So, to get you all excited about it! I have a new set of dies to share with you, the Pillow Box dies, here is the box that the dies make.
It's a nice square box when finished the box is 5-15/16" x 4-5/8". But, today I want to show you how to use these dies to create an Extended Pillow Box.
Take a look here at the video tutorial on how to put this box together. Make sure you subscribe to my channel and like this video so you can come back and make it when your Pillow Box dies arrive!
Here's a close up look at the cute toppers I added to the box using the Howl-o-ween Treat Stamp set and Boo to You Thinlit Dies.
Did you get your copy of the Holiday Catalog??? If not I would love to send one to you. Just leave me a comment!
It's Wednesday and that means I get to design a card for Stampin' Royalty! I love being on this design team, as my downline and bestie Georgie run the site! And this week she picked some gorgeous photos to inspire us to create!
I knew right away that I was going to use the Happy Scene stamp set from the soon to be released Holiday Catalog (9/1/15). It has stamps in it to create scenes for Fall, Halloween, Winter and Christmas! AND, it has a matching set of framelits that cut out a window pane! So, here is the card that these pictures inspired.
It's seriously cute right! The little pumpkins out the window, the spider web, the window pane! When I saw this set in the new Holiday Catalog it did not grab my attention right away. Then at convention I was able to attend the Center Stage, an event for leaders and this is the set they gave us and something changes when you get a stamp set as a gift and hold it in your hand. I started seeing all the fun I could have with it. And so I want to tell you it might not grab your attention when you first see this set in the catalog, but it is seriously cute!
I only used Whisper White card stock on this card, weird, right? I thought so, but it just worked. I stamped the scene on a 2-1/2" x 3" piece in Versamark ink and then embossed it with Black embossing powder. Then I was able to watercolor it , going over the tree with ease and the image has a shine to it and dimension. To watercolor this image I used my Aquapainter and ink from three stamp pads, Pool Party, Tangelo Twist, and Crumb Cake.
For the saying I stamped the greeting with Tangelo Twist ink. Then I flagged the ends of my strip of paper using my Paper Snips. then I watercolored around the saying, again with my Aqua Painter and Pool Party ink. For the black detailing I used my #1 pen from the Project Life journaling pens. I just free handed it, I wanted it to be a very imperfect line.
My favorite thing are the tiny little spiders, I always say LOVE IS IN THE DETAILS, add some love to your cards by including some fun little extras, they make all the difference.
Here are all the fun things I used to create this card (remember the Happy Scene stamp set and the Hearth and Home Thinlit Dies are not available until 9/1/15)
I am so excited about today's challenge! It's a Mystery Supply Challenge with SSINK. We were assigned a name at random and had to send them an envelope of goodies to make a card with. It could be embellishments or stamped images or a mix.
Here's what was in the mystery envelope I received from Tobe Buffenbarger:
I made what I like to call a flip and fold card using the Circle Card Thinlits. When you pull on the corners of the card the circle flips over and the card opens up flat.
I used half of the doily behind the circle in the die cut card. I used the heart in the bottom corner of my card and scattered the sequins over the card randomly. Or I strategically placed them randomly is really how that went. And how about that background, It's Wild! And the butterfly is from the Watercolor Wings stamp set, which is a super fun set! I loved this challenge, how fun to get a surprise envelope of goodies in the mail and create with it. I am looking forward to doing this challenge again next month!
If you want to see what was made with the mystery items I mailed out check out Sara Grafton's blog HERE.
Lately I have found that everything is turning up GOLD. Gold accents are everywhere. And so when I was planning a birthday card for my friend Georgie I decided to use her favorite new color Mint Macaron with Gold.
The two things I love most about this card are the embossed background made with the new Softly Falling Embossing folder (available September 1st in the new Holiday Catalog). It is not just to make a snowy background!
My other favorite is the balloon's string. I dip dyed it!
I cut a small piece of Gold Metallic Baker's Twine. I placed it in an empty container that our buttons come it which I had mixed about 1 tablespoon of rubbing alcohol and 5-10 drops of Mint Macaron ink refill. I let it sit in there for about 1 hour. Really I just walked away and forgot about it. Then I set it out to dry. Since it was dyed in alcohol it dried a lot faster than if I had used water. But again, I set it there and got busy with other things and came back to it about 20 minutes later. I was a bit giddy over how it turned out.
You can find all the Gold fun at my online store. While you are there be sure to check out the Weekly Deals (pictured below) and the Clearance rack for some great deals.
Did you get this in the mail???
If not and you want one, leave me a comment and I will make sure you find one in your mail box!
Then I embellished it with the Let's Get Away Bundle, which includes the Let's Get Away Card collection, Accessory Pack and Stamp Set for a 15% savings!.
I used all three sizes of cards from the Let's Get Away collection (4x6,4x4, and 4x3) on the cover here, layering them together with Green Glue. I also used the Green Glue to adhere the cards to the front of the album.
I also used a strip of the washi tape from the accessories kit, the coral piece. The light blue piece is from a retired Project Life kit, Playground, the kit that all the kids in my summer memory keeping class used.
After adding stars to the back of the book I stamped the "To Live is to Travel" image from the Let's Get Away stamp set on the back with Basic Black ink.
Don't forget about the inside covers of your album, they need something cute too!
I just added one of the stickers, journaled on it with my Project Life pen and hand drew the scallops around the outside of the sticker with the same pen.
Another sticker, which I added alphabet stickers to spell "The End", again I hand drew the scalloped edge and signed my name with the Project Life Journaling Pens.
If you'd like to see some of the pages inside my Yellowstone album you can see them HERE and HERE.
If you have any Project Life questions or would like help with an album please let me know. I love Project Life and helping others preserve their memories makes me happy.

How about a little SNEAK PEEK into the new Holiday Catalog! Have you got your Holiday Catalog in the mail yet???
If not you should be getting it any day or if you do not have a demonstrator and would like a Holiday Catalog of you very own, just let me know, I'd love to send you one.
For this weeks color challenge at Stampin' Royalty I have a little SNEAK PEEK for you!!!
These are the fabulous colors we are challenged to create with and I am using the soon to be released Lighthearted Leaves stamp set for my creation.
I loved the zentangled look of these leaves and knew it would be one of my first purchases from the upcoming Holiday Catalog. You should have got your copy of it in the mail yesterday or maybe today. If you did not and you would like one, please let me know and I will send you one.
To give these leaves the multi-colored look I stamped the same image a couple times in Blackberry Bliss and then in Hello Honey. Then I cut them up and layered them or paper pieced them.
If you would like to order items from the Holiday Catalog NOW, instead of waiting until September 1st you can do so by purchasing the Stampin' Starter Kit. I would love to have you on my team and getting a discount on all your stamp orders is a pretty nice perk!

Here's a little goody for you! A sneak peek at one of Stampin' Up!'s new holiday stamp sets. Snow Place. This set will be released on September 1st for you to purchase. From my card you can see this set has lots of pieces that work well to dress up my penguin, but they also dress up SNOWMEN too!
I just had to use the saying "SNOW WAY! It's Christmas already?" for this card, because that was how I was feeling making a Christmas card when it was 100 degrees outside. Or maybe it's how you feel when you go into Costco and there are all the christmas things ALREADY! And here I am perpetuating it!
Also on the tag you can see a snowflake background if you look closely! This set has a cluster of snowflake perfect for making backgrounds! And my personal favorite stamp in the set, holly leaves with berries! I will be using that a lot!
Look even closer at this picture, can you see at the end of the banner, see the ribbon, that is GLITTER RIBBON!!!!! It also comes in GOLD!
You are also getting a peek at the new Season of Cheer Designer Paper. The coolest thing about this holiday paper is that is it hand painted by a concept artist at Stampin' Up! They explained to us how they made it at convention and I have to say it made me feel really special that someone would hand paint designer paper for me! So, if you get a card with this paper you know you are loved.
Stay tuned for more Sneak Peeks from the upcoming Holiday Catalog.

For this challenge I had the idea to make a treat box and card all in one, that's FANCY right?!?
So I pulled out the dies that inspired this idea, the Cutie Pie Thinlit Dies.
I made a piece of cake and in the topping, a mini card. So you can give a present inside the paper cake box and write in the mini card that is part of the decoration on top. Yeah, that's FANCY freakin' cool! And how about that black and white zebra print cake! I stamped my whisper white die cut cake pieces with the It's Wild Background stamp and the soon to be released Archival Basic Black stamp pad (September 1, 2015). It's stamps the most amazing deep dark black, dries quickly and you can watercolor with it too!
To make the mini card on top you will need a piece of card stock that is 6-1/2" x 2-1/2". Fold that in half and die cut it with the triangle shaped die from the Cutie Pie Thinlit dies, so that one short side of the triangle hangs off the paper, like this...
It really is so stinkin' cute! Do you see my fabulous Calypso Coral Glimmer Paper Bow!!!! Before you freak out, we do not carry Calypso Coral Glimmer Paper, BUT, you can color your Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper to whatever color you like!
Put 35-40 drops of your chosen ink refill in the bottom of any empty Stampin' Spritzer bottle. Fill bottle with rubbing alcohol, leaving a bit of headroom, so it does not overflow when you screw on the lid. Spritz a piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper with your newly created spritzer. Leave to dry for 30 minutes or so. I just went and did something else and came back to in about an hour and I could tell it had been dry for a while.
Then use your new colored Glimmer paper how ever you like. I die cut mine to make a bow for my All in one cake box and card.
All that's left is to fill the box and write on the card and find someone with a birthday!

Today I want to share with you how to make these Hexagon Treat Boxes. A BIG thank you to Erica Cerwin for sharing how to make these, they are so fun!

These cool things will be available for you to purchase on SEPTEMBER 1st! OR!!! If you purchase the Stampin' Starter Kit, you can purchase any of the new products from the Holiday Catalog NOW! Be sure to watch the video on how to make these boxes using the Gift Bag Punch board below and see why my owl has brads in his armpits!
This one is my FAVE! Can you see the BLACK GLIMMER PAPER star over the eye! Yes, in the Holiday Catalog we now have BLACK GLIMMER PAPER, I died when I saw it the first time, luckily all the cute new stamp sets brought me back to life!
Here I used the hat and wand and part of the Trick or Treat saying. I used the Tangelo Twist marker to ink just the word TREAT and then stamped that on to Tangelo Twist carstock. It was light so I used the marker to make some shadows on the stamped image. LOVE how it turned out. The designer paper I used on all of the treat boxes is from the Happy Haunting pack from the upcoming Holiday Catalog. It's GREAT halloween paper. You are going to love it!
So, if you would like to make these Hexagon Boxes here is the paper you are going to need:
BOX: 4-3/4" x 9-1/2"; score this on the long side at 1-1/2" 3", 4-1/2", 6", 7-1/2" and 9", then score on the short side at 1-3/8" and 3-3/8"
DSP: 1-1/4" x 12"
BOTTOM OF BOX: 2-1/2" circle, same color card stock as the box
Watch this video to see how to make these fun boxes.
Here are the cool things I used to make this box, click on any of the images below to see it in my online store:

It has masculine and feminine cards in the same kit! Today I am sharing four masculine cards I made with this kit. I dressed them up a bit with supplies I had on hand.
For this card I pulled out my Medium Star Punch and punched out two stars from the White banner piece. Then I covered the punched stars with pieces from the kit and put them behind the popped up banner.
The green strips at the bottom of the card where trimmed off the bottom of the envelope liner.
Next up, a little banner in the window.
Okay, I really like this one! I love the stripped background. Which was easily made using the Dots and Stripes Decorative Masks, Crumb Cake stamp pad and a Sponge. I added a bit of card stock to this card as well. I piece of Soft Sky backs the four green squares which I cut from one of the envelope liners. And I used a scrap of Bermuda Bay card stock for my sentiment and flag cut the end for cuteness.
I think if you are going to get one thing to help dress up your Paper Pumpkin Kits it would have to be Decorative Masks! Look how much the addition of the star background livens up this card. I just sponged them on with Soft Sky ink and then completed the card with the rest of the kit. I used another strip from the envelope liner behind the banner piece and that is where I tied my twine, just to switch things up a little bit.
Another reason to have the Dots and Stripes Decorative Masks.... PLAID!
I used the stripes mask to make this plaid background then went over the top with my Project Life journaling pens to add the lines. DIY Plaid, super easy! And then I broke out the woodgrain embossing folder, cause it makes me so happy, and used that to emboss my white banner piece. The little green start is in the kit, but the other two stars, I punched out with the small star punch.
In closing, highly recommend any of the Decorative Masks and some sponges as a great addition to your Paper Pumpkin subscription.
Here are the fun things I added to my Happy Thoughts Paper Pumpkin kit to dress up the cards. Click on any item to view it in my online store. Please feel free to make a purchase there when you are ready.

Today is Stamp Club. I am excited to share the You're Sublime stamp set with my Stampin' Friends today, it's just plan ole fun!
This is the third card we will be making together today at club. We are creating a scene in each card today. I started this scene with clouds from the Sprinkles of Life stamp set.
Then I created the effect of water by scalloping the top of the water by using the border die in the Cutie Pie Thinlits Dies.
The little swimming fish are also from this set, You're Sublime, the are part of the submarine stamp. I chose to cut my stamps apart, so that the fish are their own stamp and I used them on all three of the cards we are making today.
Mr. Toad is stamped on Tip Top Taupe with the soon to be released Archival Basic Black ink and then accented with the Tip Top Taupe marker.
This card could easily be for a either a lady or gent. you may want to leave of the flower if it is for a gent., you're choice.
If you'd like to come stamp with me remember Carrie's Stamp Club is the first Saturday of the month! Save it on your calendar for September 12 (okay that is on the first Saturday of the month, but the 5th is Labor Day weekend).
