SSINK Mystery Challenge #26

Let me just tell you I LOVED this challenge with SSINK!  

Did you read the "Wanna get get crazy, use all 5 elements!"  Yep, that's me!  CRAZY STAMP LADY!  

You can see that my card is a shaker, the shaker bit are die cut leaves from Island Indigo card stock, and Gold, Bermuda Bay and Orange Sequins.  Seriously, shaker cards are my FAVE!  I can not get enough of them right now. So from the start this card was going to be a shaker. 

At first, I was not going to include the Island Indigo color on my card and was going to go with the Orange and Browns. Then I remembered a hand made quilt I saw recently that I just loved and it was made with orange, browns and blues. So, I knew it would be a fun color combo. 

The tree embossed background was not a part of my plan either, but when laying all the pieces down and looking at it the orange background behind the shaker needed something.  I love the play on nature with the tree trunks in the background and the falling leaves are part of the shaker. 

BURLAP, this challenge had me at the word Burlap.  Why do I like it, I keep asking myself.  Cause I always get little burlap fibers on me and somehow they always end up tickling my nose.  But it is worth it for that rough texture.  If you want to spruce up  your creations, try adding something with texture!  It just gives paper creations a step up, a WOW factor and it just makes me happy! 

The Zentangled leaf is my favorite.  I had so much fun coloring it.  It's kinda like all those adult coloring books that are out now days.  Only I don't feel weird buying it cause it's a rubber stamp. I embossed this leaf from the Lighthearted Leaves stamp set with Early Espresso ink and Clear Embossing powder.  Then I colored it with my Island Indigo, Soft Sky, Pumpkin Pie,Tangerine Tango and Crumb Cake Markers. To make this leave even more fun, I did not have to cut it out!  NOPE, there is a die for that!

Cozy Christmas Reindeer

I am in love with the little reindeer paper from the Home for Christmas Designer Paper.  Then I saw a card similar to this one by Kimberly VanDeipen and I had to make it! Isn't it so cute!  

This is one of the cards that we are making at my Cozy Christmas Card Class.  For this class I have designed 5 cards using the Cozy Christmas stamp set and you get to make 2 of each of these 5 cards for a total of 10 cards!

Thanks and Giving

I love the saying "Let our lives be full of both thanks and giving" from the Lighthearted Leaves stamp set from the new Holiday Catalog. 

 

And it was the perfect saying for my card that is a thank you note and gives a treat! 

And I love that the colors for the Stampin' Royalty Challenge this week,  match the Into the Woods Designer Paper exactly! 

This card all started when I found this piece of card stock that my daughter had scored in the wrong spot to fold it directly in half.  So, I decided to make a match book card out of it and put a treat in it! 

 

This Matchbook card measures: 4-1/4" x 11 and is scored at: 4-1/2", 5" and 10-1/4".

The treat that is inside that cellophane bag are Pecan Pie M-n-M's!  Do yourself a favor and do not even buy them.  If you don't listen to me and you do buy them, don't even try one.  If you don't listen to be and you do try one, you will end up eating the entire bag.  So, what I am saying is buy two bags!  

 

 

I added the panel or strip of Pumpkin Pie card stock to the bottom flap so that the top flap had more in front of it to keep it closed.   And it looked good behind my cut out leaves from the Pillow Die set of Framelits.

Your Presents in Cucumber Crush

This is the card I designed for SSINK; we are creating with our favorite In-Color today.

I chose: Cucumber Crush.  

It's my favorite In-Color right now.  It's is so fun to use with Real Red for Christmas creations! Aren't they so festive together! 

 

Like this fun card, I say fun because this card involves K-I-S-S-I-N-G!  

To KISS with your stamps first you must apply ink! 

This is how I made my present with the trees on it; 

1.Ink up the solid square with Cucumber Crush ink. 

2.Stamp it off twice on scratch paper. 

3.Ink up the tree background image with Cucumber Crush ink.  

4.Stamp the inked up square onto the tree image. The square stamp will pick up the tree pattern. 

5.Stamp the square on to Whisper White card stock. 

I repeated these steps with the stripped present and Real Red ink, as well as the ornament. The polka dots on the ornament are from a retired Paper Pumpkin stamp set. 

Can you see the glittery bows?  Did you know you can emboss with Stampin' Up!'s classic ink pads!  If you work quickly, i.e. have all the necessary items ready you can easily embossed with the die based ink pads.  I just stamped the bow image on Whisper White Card stock, dipped the image into Iridescent Ice embossing powder and embossed it with the Heat Tool.  With this technique you can emboss in 50 different colors!

Fall Inspired

Today at Stampin' Royalty our challenge is FALL INSPIRED! 

I am loving FALL right about now.  Today the leaves are turning and just starting to fall, there is a breeze and it is a cool 80 degrees!  Could it be like this everyday!!!  

For this card I pulled out some of my fun new products from the Holiday Catalog. 

I started with the Cheer All Year stamp set.  I challenged myself to use only stamps from this set and not to incorporate another set.  So, I used the  HELLO AUTUMN stamp to create my background.  

Then I stamped the acorn image in Chocolate Chip ink and a second acorn in Rich Razzleberry ink I cut off the patterned top of the Razzleberry acorn and glued it over the top of the Chocolate Chip acorn, to have an acorn with two nontraditional colors.

The accessories are the icing on this card. The Designer Paper is from a set called Into the Woods.

There are also Into the Woods embellishments, which is where the little wooden leaf if from, it is so dang cute! 

I then added some gold accents, l love gold with fall projects!  So I pulled out some Gold Glimmer Paper and a Gold Button. Look how pretty these are! 

It's not hard to make a gorgeous with all of these beautiful products.

Happy Scene Color Challenge

When designing the card for todays color challenge I knew I was going to go with a fall theme.  These three colors are the colors I am seeing all around me right now.  It seems as of October 1st it turned to Autumn here in Boise, Idaho.  

I love jeans and t-shirt weather, watching my college football team kick butt (GO BOISE STATE!), and the smell of the applesauce I have brewing in the kitchen.  These are the things I love about fall! 

I love the Happy Scenes Stamp Set for shaker cards!  For this one I added some die cut leaves from the Square Pillow Box set of Framelits. 

This is the perfect time of year to think about those who you are thankful for and to let them know with a hand made card!

Happy Scenes Luminary

A candy bag that becomes a luminary! 

I love the idea of the this project, because after all the goodies are eaten out of it, you can put the tea light in and you have a luminary.  I get a warm fuzzy knowing that my cute little bag will not be thrown away too soon!  

This is just one of the projects we are making this Friday at my October Stamp Club using the Happy Scenes Stamp Set.
