Hey Stampin' Friends! It's Stampin' Royalty Challenge #307, a color challenge.
What fun colors, it really was a challenge for me to use the gray with traditional Christmas colors. Let's see how I did...
I love how it turned out. To start with all I knew is that I wanted to use the Brick Wall embossing folder for the background. Then I thought about how the color gray is so popular in home decor right now and that made me think of my Hearth and Home framelit dies and coordinating stamp set.
The touches of glitter started with the window ledge. I thought about doing the entire window in the Red Glimmer paper but thought it might be too much, so I did just the window ledge. Then the thought to cover the inside panel came to me after a lovely meeting with a friend in my Carrie's Stamp Crew group, Lori. She shared with me a card that she did with her stamp club. The covered the stamped image with Dazzling Diamonds glitter. I have not done this technique in so long and I LOVED her card so I decided to add it to my card as well. Here's how...
- Cover your entire piece of card stock, which has already been stamped, with VersaMark ink. Just press the stamp pad all over the card stock so that the entire piece is covered with ink.
- Cover the the entire inked piece of card stock with Heat and Stick Powder. Heat this with a Heat Tool to melt the Heat and Stick powder. It is important that you heat it JUST UNTIL IT MELTS and NO LONGER! If you heat it too long is will not be very sticky.
- Now cover the sticky piece of card stock with Dazzling Diamonds glitter, to secure it to the sticky paper heat set it once more, sealing the glitter into place.
Isn't is just a sparkling beauty! I love it, thanks Lori for the inspiration and a fun visit.
If you are wondering about the holly and berries, they are from a retired die called, Stocking Accents. You could also make the holly leaves by punching out a circle and then using that circle punch to take "bites" out of the sides of the circle till it looks like a holly leaf.
