We have a RED, WHITE and BLACK picture challenge for you today from Stampin' Royalty!
I thought this was a very fun and versatile challenge! Cake, colors, flowers, butterfly, polka dots, stripes, so much to choose from!
I knew I wanted to do a birthday card. I am joining the #imbringingbackbirthdays movement. To send out hand made cards for birthdays. This one is all ready to be mailed to my sister. I used the new stamp set Birthday Blooms. I just fell in love with that flower, so pretty.
I stamped the main flower image with Archival Basic Black ink on Whisper White card stock. Then I outlined the flower with a Real Red Stampin' Write marker and the leaves with a Cucumber Crush Stampin' Write marker. Then I watercolored the image in using an Aqua Painter and ink collected on the lid of a stamp pad by pressing the lid onto the pad. I tried to keep the tip of my Aqua Painter only a little wet as Whisper White card stock is not the best paper for watercoloring, but the area I was coloring was small so I thought it would be fine and as it turned out it was.
For the background I used my Dots Stencil and a sponge dauber to add Black Memento Ink. Then I took my Project Life journaling pen and add some doodling to the black circles, giving them a little more interest and dimension.
I used a strip of vellum to stamp my sentiment of and tied off the card with a piece of Real Red Cotton Ribbon.
