Sparkle and Shine Birthday Card

Today at Stampin' Royalty our challenge is to create something with Sparkle and Shine. 

To make my card Sparkle and Shine I pulled out the new Glitter Tape, a recent addition to our collection of Sale-A-Bration items. 

This tape is fabulous.  It is slightly thicker than washi tape, but still tears with ease. And it is SOOO sparkly. 

Gorgeous!  I added to the shine using embossing powder on all my stamped images.  I stamped the word hello in Versamark ink then sprinkled the top half with Silver embossing powder and the bottom half with gold embossing powder. I love how the two melted together in the middle.

And how can you make a Sparkle and Shine card with out Rhinestones.

I mounted the entire card on to a base of Gold Metallic card stock.

Another fun birthday card to use in my #imbringingbirthdaysback movement.

SSINK Mystery Challenge #30

Today I am playing along with SSINK's Mystery Challenge #30.

The Mystery Challenge is one of my favorites, it's like a choose your own adventure book. You pick the items from the challenge list and create your project. 

I decided to do a NON-card project (#1).  I just got the Baker's Box Thinlits and really wanted to play with them. 

I used three of the color options (#2): So Saffron, Blushing Bride and Cucumber Crush. 

And I decided to make and Easter themed project (#6).

February 2016 Paper Pumpkin Kit

Hello Sunshine is the name of the February 2016 Paper Pumpkin Kit.  

This kit is just what I needed.  The stamp set has images for every occasion in a super cute font that looks hand lettered. 

 

I was excited when I saw the cute cards to make with these stamps. 

I wanted to play with this kit so much when I got home on Thursday night from a very long day at our Co-Op school, but just couldn't think about getting up off the couch.  So, I made the first card right on the couch, luckily my daughter brought me a clear block to mount my stamp on it, that's all I needed that was not in the kit. 

That gold swirly sticker equals happiness. 

If you look close you can see the background of this card has a light blue splatter, fun! 

You can not go wrong with a little gold and iridescent sequins which is the embellishments in this kit! 

After I made one of each of the cards in the box I wanted to make one with a step up. 

All I added to this card that was not in the kit was some Calypso Coral Card stock and Ink.  And a few dimensional. Giving this card away to day to a friend who just fell in love with the art of rubber stamping, and she's getting a Paper Pumpkin kit of her own, they make the perfect gifts!

Party Wishes Card Making Party

You're So Sweet

Today we have a color challenge at Stampin' Royatly! 

I broke out the Honeycomb Happiness stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. It has so many cute image besides this ice-cream cone.  

Seriously, how cute is that little chick!?!  

For my ice-cream cone I stamp the image three times with Archival Basic Black, then I watercolored the image with an Aqua-Painter and ink from the 3 challenge colors. Then I cut out just the scoops on two of the images, making a triple scoop cone! 

 

The Designer Paper is from the Cherry on Top paper stack and just so happened to have the challenge colors in it! 

I used my Project Life Journaling Pen to drop the ice-cream dip on Watercolor Paper and then colored it in with my Aqua Painter and Watermelon Wonder ink. It's my favorite part of the card, it's adding these little details to your card that make the simple card a little something special. 

Just a sweet and simple card make with a bit of paper, stamps and ink.

Spinkles for Kids

Today at SSINK we are sharing our designs for Kids Birthday Cards. 

I knew I wanted bright colors and some bling for my card. I chose the Sprinkles of Life Stamp set.  It's one of those must have stamp sets, very versatile!  And there is a matching punch! Check it out. 

There is so much fun to be had with this set and punch. 

I stamped my images with White Craft ink and embossed them with white embossing powder.  It makes the images pop and it's just fun. 

For my background I sponged on some stars using the Stars Decorative Mask. 

My yellow banner is from the Cherry On Top Designer paper Stack. 

For the "bling" I added Silver Glimmer Paper, Rhinestone Jewels and Star Epoxy Stickers.

Valentine Paper Crafting

Feels like Valentines Day has already passed around here.  We have been busy crafting and baking.  I thought I share some of our fun with you. 

The fun began with a Valentine making party for kids. 

We used the January Paper Pumpkin kit.  If you are not a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, Paper Pumpkin is a subscription service.  You subscribe and get a stamping kit delivered to your door every month.  It is so much fun!  I love rushing to the mail box and pulling out our red boxes (my girls get their own PP box too) and anticipation as we open it to see what the new kit is!  Here's a video to show you the January Paper Pumpkin kit in action. 

 

I added some extra hearts to this kit so that each kid could make 30 Valentine pouches, as the kit alone makes 15 pouches.  Here's how I did it.  First I scanned one of the hearts and then saved it to my Silhouette Design Studio.  From there I was able to trace and cut out as many hearts as I like using my Silhouette electronic cutter.  I cut them from card stock, and used them as the backs for the cute stripped hearts from the kit. So, using the 30 stripped hearts from the kit and 30 card stock hearts that I electronically cut, each kiddo was able to make 30 valentine pouches. 

We made cookies to put in ours. Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies (flourless) to be exact.  

We had to cut a few of our chocolate chunks as they were a little big. 

Here are our Valentines all ready to go.  I did put the cookies in a little plastic bag before putting them in the heart pouches. 

We also made our Valentine Boxes. Samantha wanted a puppy dog theme to her box.  So we used some image from the Silhouette design studio and cut them with the Silhouette and adhered them to our wrapping paper covered card board box .

Hannah wanted her box to be a Shopkin.  So, we designed her box after her stuffed chocolate Shopkin toy. 

All done with card stock and punches. 

I used a gray marker to out line the edges of the white wrapper.  

As for the Valentines Party, it is pretty low key at our school.  We belong to a homeschool Co-op.  We go to school at home 4 days a week and on Thursdays we go to Co-op with other homeschooling families.  At co-op we do Science, Art and Literature.  And fun things that a lot of homeschool families might miss out on, like class parties.  But we do them school wide.  Here's how we do Valentines, each family makes a Valentine for each kid.  Each kid has a box and gets a Valentine from each family.  

It was a fun day, as is every Thursday with our amazing school!

Nice Cuppa for Lady Mary

Are you in love with Downton Abby?  I am, and am cherishing every minute of every episode this season.  When I made this card I thought it was a cup of tea fit for Lady Mary herself.  

Maybe not, I'm sure glitter is not proper with tea!  

I really created this card for todays challenge at Stampin' Royalty. It's a picture challenge. 

So beautiful, I almost couldn't do it justice. 

I pulled out my Nice Cuppa Stamp set from the Occasions Catalog and stamped the tea cup with Pool Party ink and then embossed the saying on top with Versamark ink and Gold embossing powder.

 

For the touches of gold I added a tea bag cut from Gold Glimmer paper and attached it to the much with Gold Baker's Twine.  I put the cup on top of a Gold Doily.  I added a white flower like on the cake in the inspiration picture and used the Gold Sequin trim as the flower accent.

Soaring Card Sketch

Today's card was designed for SSINK sketch challenge #30.

This idea came to me early Sunday morning when I had the opportunity to sleep in past 5:30am.  But when I  have an idea for card and the house it quiet, it is hard for me to go back to sleep.  So I finally got up and it was 6am!  I guess that's when my creative juices are flowing. 

The technique for this card is call "Spot Lighting".  You stamp the image twice, on two different pieces of paper.  One of these pieces should be smaller than the other.  Then you line up the smaller piece of stamped paper over the top of the larger piece of stamped paper.  Like I did with the heart  and square on this card. 

The plane and heart smoke trail are from the Sky is the Limit Sale-A-Bration stamp set. This set will not be available after 2/15/16. For the background I used a very cool collections of designer paper! I love the maps in this set as well as the constellations and the marbled papers!  A great stack of designer paper for making masculine cards. 

Since my card base is black I had to add a neutral color to the inside, one that is easier to write on. Then I stamped the sentiment; "you send me soaring" in red.  Making this a great Valentine card for a guy.  

I only wish I could buy some airline tickets to someone special and surprise my hubby with this card and a getaway for us!  Well at least this card lets me dream of the possibilities.

Today I am sharing the new Love You Sew stamp set.  It's a hostess exclusive stamp set.  Which is our challenge today at SSINK. I fell in love with this stamp set when I saw the saying I used on the front of my card. 

 

I love how many fun images come in this set. 

I used several of the images for my card, really because I just wanted to play with them all!  

I love that the little scissors look just like our Paper Snips!

Sky is the Limit

 The challenge to day at Stampin' Royalty is to create a card for a guy!  Well, it just so happens that I need a card for a guy, my brother in-law's birthday is this month.  And since I am joining the #imbringingbirthdaysback movement he's getting a birthday card from me this year.  Yay!  

This new stamp Sale-A-Bration stamp set, Sky is the Limit is a great set for making more masculine creations.  Then you pair it up with the Going Places Designer Paper Stack and it's perfect combination.

This card went together so fast, it can when you have products that coordinate so well together. Which is just on of the many reasons why I love being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.  They are the best in the business with product coordination. And it is great being a part of it.
