1 Green and speckled frog

Today at Stampin' Royalty we are challenging you to GO GREEN! 

That can mean a lot of things; recycle, upcycle, or just use green in a new project!

I chose to use green in a new project.  

Because, I am loving the new Pyramid Pals Thinlit Dies and the coordinating Playful Pals stamp set.  Check out these fun new products: 

The possibilities are endless with these products.  I got these two items for myself and my girls for Christmas.  It's as much for me as it is for my girls to play with.  

As this challenge was to use GREEN, I decided to make a frog.  A green and speckled frog.  I'm not sure if you have heard the Raffi song Five Green and Speckled Frogs, but it was one of my kids favorite songs and one of mine too. 

So of course I had to make a Speckled Frog pyramid box. 

I die cut all my pieces from Cucumber Crush card stock and then stamped them. 

As you can see several of the pieces I stamped with either Cucumber Crush or Real Red and then over the top with Basic Black.  That's just one of the things I love about this set is that it has a solid  and outline image for most all the pieces.  You can use them together or separately.  When you use them together it adds great dimension layering the stamped images. 

I had to get a little creative with the tongue and fly.  The tongue is actually suppose to be a tail.  But I stamped the solid image in red, the detail image in Basic Black and then die cut it with the matching Thinlit.  Then to make it a little more sleek, I trimmed off some of the rounded end.  I also made it a bit shorter as I felt it was too long for this box. 

Now the fly, I am very proud of!  I just looked at the tiny little images in the stamp set and found a solid and outline that I thought would work to make a fly.  I was thrilled with how the little thing turned out.  I did have to fussy cut him, but it was worth it!  I adhered him to the tongue with a rolled up Mini Glue Dot. 

The box opens up in the back, like this.  Fill it with treats and then put a glue dot or two at the top to hold it shut.  Now I need to go make four more of these, so he has friends!  And I will have all FIVE of the Five Green and Speckled Frogs!
