All about Mother's Day!
Today's card was designed for the Mother's Day challenge at SSINK.
I was inspired by a demonstration I saw at On Stage in Utah the other day when I made this card. The demonstrator sharing made a card where she played a strip of printer paper over the center of a piece of Whisper White card stock and then stamped a background. Then she removed the strip, revealing an open white space to stamp the sentiment.
I love this style of card and , quick and easy and I plan to use it more often! I always get great ideas going to Stampin' Up! events. Another reason to be a demonstrator!
The stamp set I used here is a special one! It is the FREE stamp set that Stampin' Up! sent out this month to all it's Paper Pumpkin subscribers this month. So, in addition to our Paper Pumpkin kit and stamps for the month of April, they sent us this additional stamp set as a free gift. It's to celebrate Paper Pumpkin turning 3 years old!
I will be giving one of these stamp sets away today on my Facebook page, starting at 8am MST, click here to go to my Carrie Stamps Facebook page and enter to win.
It's good to be a Paper Pumpkin Subscriber! This is not the first time they have given free gifts to all subscribers, love it!
I thought this card would be a great card for Mother's Day and will go nicely with the wreath I made her from the April Paper Pumpkin Kit.
Lastly, I wanted to show you that I embossed the flowers and leaves on this card so they would stand out from he others on the card. All I did was ink the images on the classic ink pads, stamp the images, cover them with Clear embossing powder and emboss them with the Heat Tool.
I love that our ink stays wet long enough to emboss it and I do not need a second stamp pad. Speaking of ink, I used three ink pads that are being retired on this card; Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey and Mossy Meadow. If you love these colors you should think about getting them before they are all gone. Our in-color items will sell out FAST. You can find them and all the retiring products HERE at my online store.
