Pop of Paradise

So, today I wanted to share a card with you that I made featuring one of my favorite new stamp sets from this new catalog called Pop of Paradise!   

The top, white part of the card is Vellum.  I was inspired to make this card by Jennifer McGuire and a very similar vellum card she made. 

The vellum is card size; 5-1/2 x 8-1/2".  The Pool Party started out the same size, then I scored it and folded it in half.  Then I turned it diagonally on my paper cutter and cut the top off.  

I stamped the vellum with White StazOn ink and the larges leaf image from the Pop of Paradise stamp set.  Make sure to let this dry, even though you are using StazOn ink, the vellum is a non porous surface and will not absorb the ink. 

The Pool party layer I stamped with the smaller leaf and pool party ink, quick and easy.  Then I added the sentiment from the same set with Basic Black ink.  Adhere the Vellum card to the diagonal card using Fast Fuze, it barely shows through the vellum.  The Flamingo image is stamped in Flirty Flamingo ink, a fun new In-Color, and hand cut out.

The flowers are die cut using the Botanical Builder Framelits.  The card stocks I used to die cut these flowers are: Basic Black, Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, Emerald Envy and Flirty Flamingo.  Then I added some rhinestones to dress the card up a bit. And a Black and White piece of Baker's Twine tied on the spine of the card for added texture and interest. 

Now to write on the inside of this card I added a piece of Pool Party card stock, which is from the top of the card that I cut off at an angle.  It was already the right angle, so I just trimmed it down a bit so it would have a consistent border around the edge and stuck it on with my Fast Fuze. 

I love this card so much.  I actually made five of them and am selling them on my ETSY shop.  The flamingo actually represents some one very dear to me, my friend and former member of my team, Amy.  Amy's new symbol in life is the Flamingo.  They stand on one leg and that inspires Amy, she started a new motto for her life; Flamingo Strong.  The reason why this is her new motto is because she is facing a leg amputation. For about two years now Amy has been undergoing surgery after surgery to repair a break in her leg from a slip and fall on the ice leaving work.  Something that could easily happen to anyone.  But, after all these surgeries, untold amounts of pain, and scary drug interactions the doctors have determined that amputation is the only step left.  So, Amy is moving ahead, Flamingo Strong.  The hard part of all of this is the fact that her workman's comp is not paying for this last surgery.  So, I am selling my flamingo cards to contribute to her Go Fund Me account.  You can find these cards for sale in my ETSY shop.

Card Candy Flip Book!  – designed by Regina Andari

Create a flip book, complete with elements that flip and open, with card candy that the recipient can remove and use to decorate note and greeting cards.  One of the “flip” elements is a glassine bag that holds twine and jewels to further decorate the cards.  The flip book includes a pocket to hold an instructional note for the recipient, and there’s another pocket to hold additional embellishments, punched or die-cut shapes, stamped sentiments, etc.  This tutorial includes eight assorted card candy decorative layers, including the one on the front of the flip book, which can be lifted from the book and adhered to a card.  This is a fabulous project to make for another stamper/card-maker, and it would also be a great stamp camp project.

Butterfly Pizza Box Card Set!  – designed by Christy Fulk

This card box set has a mini “pizza” box to hold the cards in, and the box is decorated with a pretty butterfly belly band. The box holds a total of six, 4” x 4” cards and coordinating envelopes. This tutorial includes the instructions on how to make the mini “pizza” box, three different card designs (two are made of each), and the envelopes for the 4” x 4” cards. The set features the Garden in Bloom Stamp Set and English Garden Designer Series Paper. This would make a great card class, too.

Moroccan Nights Thanks

 

We have such a fun Picture Inspiration challenge for you today at Stampin' Royalty!  Which was the inspiration behind this card. 

I thought this picture was a perfect time to open up my new Moroccan Nights stamp set.  This set will soon be available for purchase (June 1st). 

I decided I wanted to use all three of the lanterns from the stamp set on this card, but did not want to use only gold.  So, I did one in gold, one in copper, and one in silver.  The copper embossing powder is also a new product available June 1st!  

You can get a good look at my background from this picture, here's how I made it: 

Start with a piece of Whisper White card stock. 

Stamp main image in Versamark ink and emboss with white powder. 

Using a sponge dauber, rub ink over the embossed images.  I used; Pumpkin Pie, Tangelo Twist and Tangerine Tango. 

Wipe excess ink off the embossed images with a paper towel.

Just after applying the ink, splatter the paper with drops of water.  The water will absorb some of the ink; leaving cool splatter marks. 

Splatter the card with the darkest ink color you used by dropping a few drops of that ink into the lid of the stamp pad from the ink refill bottle.  Pick up the ink with an Aquapainter  and then splatter it on the card.  

Stamp the smallest image randomly over the card using the darkest ink again.  

Splatter the card with the Gold Wink of Stella pen, or clear if that works better for the colors you choose. 

I also used the Wink of Stella pen to hand write my sentiment.  I am really in to brush lettering.  I mostly use my aqua painter, but the Wink of Stella has pretty much the same tip. The paper that I used for my sentiment is one of our new In-Colors, Peekaboo Peach!  I also used it to make my scrunchie flower.

Celebrate Today Graduate!

Today at Stampin' Royalty we are sharing Graduation creations.  

I was thrilled to have this stamp set that I can use for so many things as well as graduation.  I don't really want a cap and gown type stamp set.  But I love having stamp sets that are versatile and can be used for lots of different occasions, that's the Celebrate Today stamp set. 

As you can see this fun stamp set has coordinating Framelits, BONUS!  That's how I cut out my cute little gold tassel. 

I had lots of fun with the color combo on this card, because I used the new In-Color Dapper Denim with on of my favorite colors, Pool Party.  Dapper Denim will be available for purchase June 1st.  But, you can get them now if you join Stampin' Up! Sprinkles of Life Cone

What a fun inspiration challenge we have today at SSINK!  

The ice-cream cone balloons are a great idea!  And inspired me to make this card. 

There are so many fun elements on this card, and a lot of them are being retired at the end of this month! 

Like the Birthday Bouquet Paper I used for my background. 

Also retiring, the 1" Dotted Lace Trim, which I LOVE! And it comes in 4 other colors besides this yummy Watermelon Wonder, which is what I used. 

The Tea Lace Doilies are retiring too and being replaced by and newly designed doily, so if you love these, you should get some before they are long gone. 

The last retiring product I used on this card are the Blossom Accents.

CPC Project #5

follow your heart

Had lots of fun with the color challenge at Stampin' Royalty today!  

Some of my favorite colors right here!  

My card all started with one stamp, the World Map stamp!  You know it's retiring at the end of this month and will no longer be available for order!  Sad. In. My. Heart.  At least I own it, but I want you to have to joy of owning it too.  It's one of my favorites.  

It's pretty cool right!  Great for masculine creations.  

Once I stamped the background on my Whisper White card stock with Archival Basic Black ink, I applied the three colors of ink with sponge daubers.  I just rubbed ink into the paper.  Then I flicked water on it, giving it the map a bit of a distressed look.  Then I splattered on some ink. It is kind of hard to see in the photos but really adds to the depth of the map image.  

The little camper is from the You're Sublime stamp set.  I stamped it on Watercolor Paper with Archival Basic Black ink and watercolored it with the challenge colors.  Then I cut it out and popped it up on the circle. Then I cheated and added a little touch of red, with a Glimmer Paper heart on the flag. It's just my style, adding little details to my cards, love is in the details.

CPC Project #4

This delightful box is called either a Stepper Box or a Fantasy Box. No matter what you call it, though, it is a fun way to package a variety of small items, including jewelry, chocolates, or other small trinkets. This project features the lovely Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper and includes a matching card. It can be used for many different occasions including birthdays, Mother’s Day, and more. Once you learn how to make this box, you’ll want to make it for every occasion simply by changing the Designer Series Paper! Great for clubs, classes, or crafting with a friend.

Party Wishes Shaker Card

  

Today I am sharing with you some of my favorite Accessories from the Occasions Catalog. 

Starting with these cute little punches. 

This is the Party Punch Pack.  You get all three of the pieces in a pack.  This is what I used to fill my shaker card.  And these little cuties are retiring at the end of May, which means you have a few weeks left to get yours before they are gone. 

They are great tools to make your own accessories. As you can see I not only used the punches to make the shaker pieces, I used the balloon punch to dress up the inside of my card.  Balloon punch and Gold glimmer paper really add some fun to this card! 

Another fun accessory I love on this card is the pink and black Baker's Twine! 

Yep, it comes in a combo pack too!  A Pink and Black roll and a Mint Green and Black roll for just $6.50!  And then there is the Confetti embossing folder, I used on the front of the card giving a subtle look of confetti. 

Last but not least!!! My favorite accessory on this card is the designer paper, the It's My Party Designer Paper Stack.  It's just GIANT! It has 48 gorgeous pieces of paper in it!  I used it for the background and to punch out the little cupcakes inside the shaker.

Stand Up Gift Card & Post it Note holder

Need a cute gift for your teachers this year?

The Stand Up Post It Note & Gift Card holder is the PERFECT thing!  On the front you have a nice pocket for a full Post It Note Pad and mini pen. 

It stands up nicely, so it  can be displayed  and used.

And the back holds a gift card!  I think this one calls for a Starbucks card, right!?!

Holder measures: 5-3/4" x 12"

• score 5-3/4" side at: 1/2", 1", 4-3/4", and 5-1/4"
• score 12" side at: 2"' 2-1/2", 6", 9-1/2", 10-1/2", and 11-1/2"

Front Designer Paper measures: 3-1/2" x 1-3/4"

Designer Paper for the inside of the pocket measures: 3-1/2" x 3-1/4"

Gift Card Pocket measures: 4" x 2-1/4"

• score bottom at: 1/4"
• score sides at: 1/4" and 3-3/4"
   

Stamped banner for front of holder measures: 1/2" x 2-1/2"

Elegant Gift Card Holder

Elegant, yet simple.  Sometimes you need to give a gift and time is of the essence.  But you still want it to be special.  That is where the Gift Card Framelits come in to play.  

I just die cut one of the gift card envelopes from Stampin' Up!s thick Whisper White Card stock.  Then, I stamped the largest flower from Birthday Blooms over the entire envelope with Basic Black ink.  

Boom, that's done!  Insert the gift card.  I did not glue the envelope shut, just put a 1" x 10" belly band around it and dressed up with Satin Ribbon, a stamped and cut out flower from the same stamp set and some bling; Rhinestones. 

I made this card to match a card.  This set would be great for Mother's Day, a teacher gift, birthday, thank you, graduation, etc.

Bear Hugs Tutorial

Hi Stampin' Friends!  Today I am excited to share with you my Bear Hugs Tutorial!

These projects are designed for kids to make with assistance for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.  They will also work for birthdays and other special occasions. Included in this tutorial are the directions to make two cards, a mini scrapbook, a gift box boat and treat holder tent.  Think of all the fun you could have making these projects with the little crafters in your life. Not to mention the joy these gifts will bring  to the Mom or Dad who gets them as a handmade gift!  These projects would also be great for a kids craft class! 

I few months ago I was asked to be a guest designer for Craft Project Central. This is the tutorial I designed for them.
