Foxy Friends Polar Bear

Today at Stampin' Royalty we are making cards with STRIPES. 

I chose to use the A Little Foxy Designer Paper for my stripes. 

And to continue my theme of Christmas cards with the Foxy Friends Bundle, I made a polar bear card.  Which I CASEd from another demonstrator, Sabine Mayer.  I found her card and just loved it and the little Polar bear, easily made with the Fox Builder Punch. 

The only alterations you have to make to create the polar bear is to round the ears after punching out the head.  Stamp a face on him and attach it to the body.  Both punched from Whisper White card stock. 

The little heart is also from the Foxy Friends stamp set.  I think the little banner is that little something extra that this card needs.  It is actually a pattern from the A Little Foxy DSP, just cut it out and stick it on.  All the designer paper on this card is from the set.  

I do love how quick and simple this card is, you could easily bust out a bunch of these in no time.

Candy Cane Lane Shaker Card

I am so excited to share my shaker card with you today!  This card started over 15 years ago! When I first started stamping it was because I wanted to make my own Christmas cards.  The first year I did a card with embossing, the second year I did a shaker card with a gingerbread house and for the shaker pieces real sprinkles!  I love that concept so much and thought it was time for another Christmas Sprinkles Shaker Card!  

Today's challenge at SSINK is shaker cards. Combine that with the fact that I just got my Holiday Catalog pre-order, I had to make this card! 

The fun new product I used on this card is the Candy Cane Lane designer paper!  The gingerbread house, gingerbread man and candies were all cut out from the paper!  The little strips of paper with sprinkles on it is also from the same paper collection.  

Also from the upcoming Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog is the red Baker's Twine, the sentiment (from the Cookie Cutter Christmas set) and the stencil I used the make the red stripes on the background. That is just a tiny bit of the fun new product available on September 1st. 

With all this fun new stuff to play with I'm pretty sure I am not going to be making Christmas Cards at the last minute this year. 

Of course not all of them will be this elaborate, but I really can not help myself from making shaker cards.  Did you see my Window Shaker card? Or my ice-cream cone shaker cards? Then there is the DIY Shaker beads cards.

A Bunny for Foxy Friends

Foxy Friends is the stamp set that keeps on giving!  Today's creation is a Bunny. I want to kiss his little face. 

All I did was stamp the body image, and cut off the little ears and tail.  His ears are made with another stamp from the set, I inked it with Smokey Slate and used the Calypso Coral marker to make the pink parts.  Then I stamped it and cut it out.  

This cute card happens to be the Bonus Card for my upcoming Woodland Christmas Card Class. 

If you invite a friend I did not invite to the class (and the friend attends) you both get to make this BONUS card. 

This card comes with a custom envelope too! 

The class it tomorrow night and I am really looking forward to it!  Friends and stamping, my favorite things!

Birthday Sprinkles of Life

This week our challenge at Stampin' Royalty is BIRTHDAYS!

For my birthday card I used the Sprinkles of Life stamp set.  It has a cupcake image that I was going to use but then the ice-cream cone caught my eye and I had to use that. And what's better than one ice-cream cone, THREE. 

For my scoops I used 3 of the Stampin' Up! 2016-2017 In-Colors; Flirty Flamingo, Sweet Sugarplum, and Peek-a-Boo Peach. 

For the cones, I used some brushed gold card stock.  So, in person this card has some real shimmer, which is hard to capture on camera. 

The fun designer paper I used is from the Playful Palette paper stack.  The painted swirls remind me of  ice-cream, a perfect match for my card.

Woodland Christmas Card Class

Come stamp with me! 

Friday, August 26th at 6:30pm

At my stamp studio in Eagle, Idaho. 

Each month August - November I will be holding a Christmas Card making class!  My goal is to help take a little holiday stress off your plate.  So, leave the holiday cards to me!  And as part of my stress relieving service you will get a night out, time to do something fun and hang out with friends!  Find a creative side of you that you did not know you have or have not used in a long time.  No experience is required!  If you know how to cut and glue, this class is for you!  

I have designed 3 cards for this class.  You can make 2 of each for a total of 6 cards or 3 of each for a total of 9 cards.  If you'd like to make it an even 10 cards, bring a friend and you both get to make the BONUS card!

Foxy Friends Beaver

Hello my Stampin' friends.  It is Stampin' Royalty challenge day.  Today we have a color challenge. 

Right away these colors gave me a "woodsy" feel.  I knew woodgrain would have to be part of this project!  And I have been playing with the new Foxy Friends stamp set and punch and thought it would be fun to make a punch art critter.  I have seen a ton of different critters created with this punch and thought I'd give it a try. 

I chose to do a beaver because it was just the right colors for this challenge. 

I did add in some Chocolate Chip card stock for the body and head of the beaver.  But the accents are Tip Top Taupe and the tail is Early Espresso.  

To make the beaver, the trick it to ROUND everything.  Punch the head, and round the ears.  Punch the "muzzle" face piece and round the ends.  Punch the tail and round the tip.  The teeth I just cut from Whisper White card stock.  The taupe piece on the beavers chest is just a 1/2" circle.  To give the tail texture I free hand drew the lines using a #1 Project Life journaling pen. The little taupe pieces in his ears are punched from the Fox Builder Punch and are suppose to be the nose piece.   I am having so much fun with the Foxy Friends stamp set and punch!

Botanical Thank you notes

Today at SSINK we have a picture inspiration challenge for you! 

This picture was the perfect inspiration for me to create some thank you notes.  I like to have thank you notes on hand, ready to give right when I need it. 

And these Note Cards and Envelopes make it quick and easy to create hand made cards!  So I started with one of the notecards and built my card on that. 

For the flower I used the Botanical Blooms stamp set and coordinating die. What I love about my red flower is that the die cut out the flower exactly!  It does not leave a white edge at all. You can hardly tell that the flower was stamped, it almost looks like it was just die cut from colored card stock.

Thoughtful Branches Window Shaker Card

SSINK challenge today: Thoughtful Branches.  We are sharing our creations with the Thoughtful Branches bundle.  This bundle is being offered for a by Stampin' Up! for a limited time August 2 - 31st!  So, you still have time to get this bundle if you love it!  

I am sharing a card that not only has a window in it, that window is a SHAKER!!!  I call it a Window Shaker Card, brilliant, I know. And I am pretty sure I did not invent this!  In fact as I was dreaming up this creation, I came upon another demonstrator's creation of a window card where she used the Project Life Cards and Labels framelits to die cut the window in her card.  That was perfect thing for my card, die cutting the opening makes windows and shakers so much easier!  I also used a die for my Window Slider card to make that card easier to create.  So, big THANK YOU to Patty Bennett for the idea, it really made my idea come together!  

So, here is how the layers go in my Window Shaker Card. 

1. Card stock cut to 5-1/4" x 4", with an opening die cut using the 4" x 3" die from the Project Life Cards and Labels framelits. 
2. Back this with a window sheet that is about 5" x 3-3/4". 
3. Card base is 4-1/4" x 11", scored at 5-1/2", die cut an opening out of the front of the card with the 4" x 3" die ( I die cut my card and card front at the same time, so they would be lined up exactly).  
4. Back the opening in the card with a second piece of window sheet that is the same size as the first. 
5. Add the grass, which was a 1"  x 3" strip of Pear Pizzazz, I stamped the grass with Old Olive ink then rounded the two bottom corners and fussy cut the top of the strip to follow the grass. Then add the tree.
6. Put the shaker elements on top of the window sheet of the card; I used DIY Silica Beads and some die cut pieces.
7. Use dimensional strip around the opening, then adhere the top piece.  Now you have a Window Shaker Card.  
8. I also used a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Soft Sky card stock to line the inside of my card.

Shopkins Birthday Party Part 2

Well, the Shopkins Birthday party was yesterday and it went really well!  So, I wanted to share with you the rest of the cute things that I created for this party.  

The main thing I want to share today are the party favors!  I used my July Paper Pumpkin kit.  If you are not familiar with the kit you can see it here. 

The boxes from this kit are made out of white glossy card stock with a copper embossed pattern.  Our party was full of color so I decided to sponge my boxes with Emerald Envy and Flirty Flamingo  before putting them together. 

It was a tad messy. 

Then I put the boxes together.  I used the tassels from the kit, using a pink one for the green box and a green one for the pink box.  I made my own shopkins tag and added a little face to the box to make it a shopkins gem party favor. 

I found the faces on line, super easy to print and cut them out either by hand or with an electronic cutter, like I used.  I also used the stamp set from the kit to stamp "just a little bling for you" on the back of the tag. Such a cute saying!  Inside the boxes, we put a little Shopkins toy, a shopkins tattoo, gum and a piece of candy.  There was room for one or two more things.  There are two sizes of boxes in the kit and I used the largest one. 

I also used the Banner Surprise kit for the party, you might have seen in my Shopkins Birthday Party Part 1 post, the banner I made, turning the banner pieces into ice-cream cones with Shopkins faces.

I also made a custom card for my Enjoy the Little Things Kit, a clip board kit with changeable cards to clip on.  It was in Stampin' Up!'s last Occasions Catalog.

Here are some more cute things from the party. 

We set up a mini Shopkins Market for the kids to shop for snacks. 

The kids put their snacks in their shopping basket. Can't tell you how giddy I was over finding these perfect baskets at the dollar store! TWO for a dollar!  

We put some play money in the baskets and they "paid" for their snacks. 

We made a cute little journal for our project...

We played Bingo for our game...

And then there is the CAKE!  Made by my friends daughter Katie who is 15 years old. 

This the exact cake Hannah wanted, we researched it and sent Katie the link to this cake and she made it! Did you see my other post where she made a Totoro cake?  Not only is her cake CUTE, but made from scratch and so yummy! That girl has frosting in her veins! 

It was a fun party and most of all I think the birthday girl had fun and it lived up to her shopkins dreams.

Shopkins Birthday Part 1

For a while now my daughter has been in love with Shopkins.  The are little figures of food and other things from the grocery store or shoes or electronics, etc., all with faces.   They are pretty dang cute!  So, for Valentines Day I helped her make a box for her Valentine cards that looks like Cheeky Chocolate.  Here is my daughter Hannah holding her stuffed Cheeky Chocolate that was our inspiration piece for the box, which she is also holding. 

Since she is in love with these little things we of course are having a Shopkins themed birthday party.  

I have been working away on some Shopkins themed things that I thought I'd share with you. 

First of all you must have an invite.  Here is the front of our Shopkins birthday invitation. 

I printed the words for the invite out on Pink Pirouette card stock.  I backed that onto a piece of Watermelon Wonder Card stock, it seemed to go well with the colors of Strawberry Kiss.  I was able to find the image of Strawberry Kiss on the www and print and cut it out using my Silhouette, which made making multiple invitations a breeze.  I put her on a scalloped circle of Emerald Envy.  I added a little punched out flower and ribbon for the cute little details. 

This invite is flat and does not open, so I printed the details on the back of the card. 

Seriously, that little cake is so cute!  

I've also been working on a banner, inspired by THIS banner I made for my friend Patty.

I used the June Paper Pumpkin kit, Banner Surprise, for the shaker cones.  The tops, or ice-cream, is from a pattern that I created. You can download your own patter for the ice-cream scoops HERE. 

The faces are also from the www and I print and cut them with my Silhouette as well. 

In-between each pennant I added a little Ice-Cream Dream Shopkins.  Which was Hannah's request.

Warm Moroccan Nights

Hello Stampin' Friends.  Today's creation was inspired by the color challenge at SSINK. 

I love how the card turned out.  But when I first saw the color challenge I was not too sure about these colors actually working together. 

And that is what I love about a challenge it gets me to try things I would not think of on my own!  And I love the result! 

Here's how I got this amazing background: 

Start with a piece of Shimmer White card stock. 

Sponge on the darkest color first, so that it is darker at the edge and lighter as it goes up.  

Sponge on the second color starting over the top of the first color, where it starts to get lighter, blending the two colors.  Repeat this with the third color. 

Then, take a cup of water, dip your fingers in it and flick the paper with the water.  Let this dry and you will see how the water absorbs some of the ink.  Leaving lighter spots.  

I then stamped my lantern images in black, don't you love how one looks like it's swinging in the wind? I DONT, but it was my second try with the lanterns so I decided to just go with it instead of wasting paper.  So, I'm saying it that it is gently swinging in the warm evening breeze, it makes me feel better.  

After stamping the lantern I splattered some Gold Wink of Stella over the top.  I adore this little pen so much!  

Then I stamped another of the images from the Moroccan Nights stamp set across the bottom in Rich Razzleberry ink for some subtle pattern.  

The sentiment is stamped and embossed in gold and comes from the Sheltering Tree stamp set. 

Touches of gold finish off my card, starting with Gold Thread behind the sentiment, tousled around and stuck to the back of the banner.   A thin strip of Gold Glimmer Paper lines the bottom of the card.  And I colored 4 Rhinestone Jewels with a Gold Sharpie Marker and stuck them on for an added touch of elegance.
