Today I am sharing one of my Stamp Club projects. Which I am also sharing as part of Stampin' Royalty's "Anything Goes" challenge of the month.
This card was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest, I fell in love with the green sky! And then, I had the perfect stamp set and coordinating dies to make this card. It's the Spooky Fun stamp set and coordinating dies; Halloween Scenes.
What I love most about this set of dies is that it has two pieces that are stand alone, the tree and and fence. Which makes the cutest scenes.
Here's how I created the green sky.
- Start with a piece of Shimmer White Card stock.
- Punch out a 2" circle from a stick note or printer paper with repositionable adhesive on the back.
- Lay the circle on the white card stock where you want the moon to be.
- Sponge around the moon with Cucumber Crush ink, going almost to the edges of the paper, layering and rubbing the ink in for a nice saturated layer of ink.
- Sponge Garden Green ink next, moving further away from the moon, but overlapping most of the Cucumber ink, layering and rubbing the ink into the paper all the way to the edge of the paper.
- The last ink to use is Always Artichoke, at this point you are sponging the edge of the paper and over lapping the Garden Green a little.
- Now dip your fingers in a little bit of water and flick water across your sponged sky. Let this sit and watch how the water picks up the ink, leaving lighter spots. Once this is dry, about 15 mins, maybe less, peel off the mask for the moon. Now you are ready to add the bats and create your scene.
Let me know if you have any questions on this technique or card, I am here to help.
I couldn't leave the inside of the card out, it needed something cute too.
