I am loving the Note Pocket Die you guys! The card I am sharing today is the card I am making as thank you notes to all of you who have made a purchase in my online store! Thank you so much for your support! Take a look at this fun pocket card.
For this card I used two ATS stamp sets (ATS = Artist Trading Stamp). These are smaller stamp sets, sometimes they are 1 image, and other times more than 1.
The first set is Just Because (AT-0183) or in a bundle with the die set (BD-0141).
NOTE: When I made the video for this card I did not realize that this stamp set had a coordinating die set!!! I am so excited, even thought cutting these out is doable with the Details Pro Shears.
And for pretties I added some Sparkle Silk (IP-0126) and Journey Glaze (AD-0003). I love the Mother of Pearl look I got by layering the Sparkle Silk with Journey Glaze over the top! And a splatter of Sparkle Silk is a must!
To see how I used the Note Card die two other ways to dress up this pocket, watch this video tutorial I made for you.
You can find all the things I used to make this card at my online store. And while you are there be sure to check out the LAST DAY of our BREAK UP Sale!
If you would like a copy of our NEW Catalog, that goes live July 1, 2017, there is a link below to purchase your own copy. And I will send it right to you.
Hey there stamping friends. Have you heard of Silks and Splashes? They are liquid color that you apply in artistic ways.
Silks come in cute little bottles, like fingernail polish. Most of them have a shimmer to them. You can splatter them on your project or you can paint with the little brush. Splashes come in a spray bottle, which you can spray onto card stock for an all over coverage that is somewhat splattered.
Today I am sharing a video on both of these fun products.
Here are all the fun things I used to make this card:
You can shop for these products and all that Fun Stampers Journey has to offer at my online store:

I have a cute little pocket card to share with you today. This is the card I am making and sending out to all my customers with their NEW 2017-2018 Catalog! Keep reading to find out how to get your own (or scroll to the bottom).
I wanted to make a pocket card, because I am including a coupon in each card.
To bring my flowers to life I used my Color Burst Pencils (JM-077) to color the centers and stems of the flowers. I wanted to match this to my card stock and ink color, Sweet Pear, and with the Color Burst Pencils, you have what you need to match all the FSJ colors. With 48 pencils in the tin, you get tints and shades of numerous colors. This allows you to shade, blend and do ombre effects. It also means that if there is not one pencil to match your specific color, there are two you can blend together to make that color. In this case, I used Pencils 16 and 21 to make Sweet Pear!
I also added some shimmer to my flower by painting on some Sparkle Silk (IP-0126), look at those petals!
I thought you might like to SEE how I made this card, see me die cut the Note Pocket. Watch how I create the Sweet Pear with my Color Burst Pencils and experience the flower coming to life with the Sparkle Silk. Here is my video demonstrating all these fun things for you.
If you would like your VERY OWN copy of the new 2017-2018 catalog you can order one with the BUY NOW button below for the discounted price of $10 and I will happily send it to you with this cute card!
Today and am sharing with you how to color with the Journey Color Burst colored pencils from Fun Stampers Journey.
These pencils were a big part of the reason I was so excited to become a Journey Coach. These pencils are artisan quality. They blend beautifully. There are 48 of these lovelies in the tin. They come with a chart for you to match the colors to the Fun Stampers Journey colors. I could go on and on, but lets share a card or two made with these amazing pencils.
I used four different pencils to color in the puffer fish (017, 018, 011, 013). The key to getting a blended look with these pencils is LIGHT LAYERS. Use a light touch, build up the colors in layers. Coloring with the pencils should not be a race, it's more like a relaxing stroll in the park. Think of it as relaxing, a fun leisure activity. Take your time and make something cute, bring the stamped image to life.
These pencils are designed for blending, you will find tints and shades of colors that allow you to get that graduated blending from one color to the next. These pencils are also designed to match the 50 beautiful colors that FSJ has to offer. So when you color your image you know that you can match it up to your ink and card stocks. In the lid of the pencils is a chart telling you which pencil or pencils to use to achieve each and every FSJ color. These pencils are worth it and won't disappoint.
The cute puffer fish is from the stamp set Oops!, it is a Bloom Benefit ATS stamp set (Artist Trading Stamp, a small set). And Bloom Benefit means that I got it for free for placing a $50 order with FSJ. You can get the same deal, Bloom Benefits are for coaches and customers a like! Every $50 you spend, you get to choose a Bloom Benefit! Find these exclusive products on pages 8 and 9 in the current Fun Stampers Journey catalog.
When you look closely at this card you can see that I used some Sparkle Silk to add a splatter of shimmer all over my card. Silks are such a fun product to add a splatter to your finished projects. There are 15 Silks in different colors, some have more metallic or shimmer than others. And at $5.95 they are an inexpensive items that can be that special thing that your card needs, the finishing touch.
Look how cute they are, like nail polish!
Instead of just showing you my card, I thought a video was in order to show you how I built up the color on my puffer fish with light layers and the Journey Color Burst pencils. You can also see how I made the background on this card, using PanPastels. And watch how I use that cute Sparkle Silk to add the shimmer to the card. As well as a SECOND card with the puffer fish not shown here.
You can watch the video of the making of this card here, also, be sure to click over to my YouTube channel to check out my other video tutorials and subscribe to my channel.
Here is a list of all the supplies I used to make this card.

I just played with the my new PanPastels to create an amazing background for a masculine card. This is one of the three cards we are making at my upcoming Manly Man class. Details about the class below.
First I'll show you the card and then we can talk about PanPastels!
The color patches you seen the background of this card and made using the Party Pop PanPastels. They look like this:
PanPastels are artists' quality soft pastels that come in a pan (cake-like), like you see here, as opposed to a crayon like form. They are highly-pigmented, easily blended together, and low dust. People say you can use them like paints. I love that Fun Stampers Journey has partnered with the PanPastel company, who makes the best pastels on the market, to bring us these in the FSJ colors. There are four different color collections to choose from and all match the FSJ colors.
When you get your pastels they come with a set of applicator sponges in different sizes so you can start playing right away.
My biggest tip about these is that you need VERY little to get the rich dark color that you see in the pan on your paper. They suggest that you rub your sponge lightly across, or around the pan 2-3 times. I found 2 is plenty.
And I was AMAZED at the saturation of color, bright and rich! The feel of rubbing these into the paper was a smooth and slightly creamy. If you are using the small amount recommended on your sponge you will not have dust. If you do get dust, then you have too much pastel on your sponge.
I am looking forward to showing you, in video, how to use these! Stay tuned for that in a day or so.
For now here is another look at the card.
You might have noticed that I colored the truck panel with the PanPastels too. Just stamp your image on Whip Cream card stock with our clear embossing ink and then rub the pastel over it. I did the same with the Route 66 sign as well. I am loving the versatility of the pastels!

Check out this card you get to make, featuring Silks and Splashes.
Seriously look at the detail on this truck made with the Blue Lagoon Splash.
A Splash comes in a spray bottle, it is pigment based liquid ink. You can squeeze the trigger fast for all over coverage. Or squeeze the trigger part way and slowly for more of a chunky splatter. For the truck, I sprayed the Blue Lagoon splash onto Whip Cream card stock. I let it dry for a minute or two then stamped the truck on top and cut it out! I LOVE the old vintage feel it give the truck.
I used the same technique on the Route 66 sign but with Olive Green Splash. The gas pump was done with Cranberry Bliss Silk. A Silk is another liquid ink in a bottle that looks like fingernail polish, it makes great splatter. I brushed the Whip Cream card stock with the brush applicator in the Cranberry Bliss Silk, let it dry and stamped the pump on top. Then the whole card got a splatter of Silver Silk.
This is just one of the three cards you get to make at the class! You will leave the class with 6 masculine cards. I have stamps that you can choose from to stamp on the inside, Happy Father's Day, Happy Birthday and a few others.
Registration is just $25 and remember if you bring a friend, you and your friend get to make a BONUS card for FREE!

You can see here, the insert pulls out of the pocket.
I added the extra pink wave (Watermelon Fusion) to the pockets edge by using just the top edge of the die and cutting a tiny part of the pocket. The glued it behind the Hazelnut Blend pocket, giving it some added dimension and detail.
I have to say, I did struggle a bit on this first card. That's because I choose 3 ink pads for my kit that do not match any of the card stock that is in the kit. And I am all about matchy matchy. So I stamped the cake image with my Black Licorice ink on three colors of card stock and paper pieced them together.
Then I did go a bit crazy with the Journey Glaze, a super cool product that you apply to the top of images to give them a glazed, glassy look. While the Journey Glaze was wet I sprinkled it with Journey Sparkle Dust! I created the glittered dots the same way, just making a dot on the pocket with the Journey Glaze and sprinkling them with Journey Sparkle Dust. I added the natural thread behind my cake, I don't feel bad using my thread, because there is 68 yards on the spool! If you think 68 yards would be spendy, it's not, it's just $5.95.
I was having so much fun playing with my new things that I decided to make a second pocket, since I could cut two from one sheet of card stock, I might as well make another.
I used the polka dot washi tape image from To You Set, the same set the cake and sentiment images are from, to finish off the card.
I used Journey Glaze on this card too, but no glitter, I wanted you to see it by it's self. Because the True Fusion ink does not smear you get a crisp image under your glaze, that dries crystal clear.
I had lots of fun playing with my new things! And in the starter kit there is enough stuff to make cute projects! But if you are a crafter, you know, there is always MORE to get and play with. Well, as a FSJ coach I get 30% off my first order! So, I did take advantage of that and order some more of FSJ's cool products to use and share with you. That order should be arriving tomorrow! I'll be doing another live video on my Facebook page of those goodies! Watch for that here: fb.me/carrierhoadesstamps
