Hey stamping friends, I have another card made with the To You stamp set to share with you today. A card we are making at my upcoming Birthday Party Card Class on 7/19.
To color this cake I took my Cosmic Grape stamp pad and made waves with it directly on Whip Cream card stock. A cool technique I learned from the July Bloom Box. Then I stamped the cake over the top with Black Licorice stamp pad. I love how it looks like icing.
And I love that this stamp set has a coordinating die set to go with it so I don't have to cut out my cakes.
For this card I used the word "happy" from the set to make a background with my Black Licorice ink. I die cut the pierced circle from the center of the Cosmic Grape rectangle, that is the second layer on my card. I love using the center of the middle panel on my cards, makes me feel so smart and thrifty! Then you cover it up and no one will ever know there is a big hole in that layer. WIN WIN.
To help my little baby cupcake stand out a little more, I covered it with Journey Glaze. Can I tell you how much I love my Journey Glaze! I can not stop my self from putting it on every thing I make. I dries crystal clear and deepens the color of the ink a little making a new and fun element for my projects. But mostly I love that the ink does not smear with the addition of the glaze. Which I feel has a lot to do with the Fun Stampers Journey ink pads. They are a Fusion Ink, a blend of die based ink and pigment based ink, making for a vibrant crisp image.
