Have you see the other cards I made with this print I made on my Gel Press?
I cut up this print to have 4 pieces for backgrounds on cards. You can see the Thanksgiving card I made HERE and the Halloween card I made HERE.
Here is the 3rd piece I cut from this print.
When I saw this print I thought it would make a great vintage like Christmas card.
So I stamped the Graduated Dots background stamp over the top with Cool Pool ink, but I inked the stamp with a light hand and pressed the paper onto the stamp with a light hand as well. Then I splattered Sparkle Silk over the top.
I layered the background onto a frame of Cool Pool card stock. Then tied on a piece of Special Day Organza ribbon. It still needed something so I added a strip of printed paper from the Christmas Cheer Prints paper pack.
I added some accents to my card using die cut snowflakes from Cool Pool card stock. I painted the snowflakes with Sparkle Silk, let them dry and then covered them with Journey Glaze.
For my sentiment I stamped and embossed the "Deck the Halls" image from the Holiday Celebrations stamp set.
I added the large snowflake behind the ribbon, then my sentiment with Journey Foam Squares, and my small snowflake with foam squares as well. For some bling, I added some Sparkle Drops.
I have been making a LOT of prints with my Gel Press lately, as I am currently taking an online coarse to become and "expert" Gel Presser, that might not be a real thing. But I love making my own prints to use in my card making and am planning on having a class soon to teach my customers how to use it as well.
I will be sharing more about Gel Press soon, including more creations with my backgrounds, so stay tuned.

Today's card started with this piece of the print.
I stamped over the top of it with the Canvas background image, but inking it lightly with my Black Licorice ink pad and pressing the paper onto the stamp with a light hand as well.
Then I die cut a bat from printer paper using the Journey Blooms Holiday Die Set and used that as a mask. I laid it on my background and sponged on some Black Licorice ink. I left the mask there and splattered on some Silver Silk as well.
While I had my sponge out I sponged a piece of Special Day Organza Ribbon with the Black Licorice ink, I love how some spots are darker and others lighter.
I mounted my card to a panel of Citrus Cooler card stock and tied my ribbon around the card. I wanted the ribbon to me a little more "spooky" so I ruffled it up a bit by heating it with my Heat Tool, which melts the ribbon slightly giving it that ruffled look.
Then I was able to add my embossed sentiment from the Holiday Celebrations stamp set. And some stars in the back ground as well.
Can you see how the ghost looks darker and shiny? I added some Journey Glaze to him.
Here you can see all the fun things I used to make this card:
You can purchase any of the things I used just by clicking on the picture of that items, it will open up for you to view in my online store.
And right now all our True Color Fusion ink pads are 20% off!

Thank you for visit my blog, I love sharing my creation with you inspiring you to create too.
Hey there stamping friends. Today I am sharing a creation from my new favorite tool, The Gel Press! The Gel Press is a new product to Fun Stampers Journey, but artists have been using it for a while. It is a gel like plate that you apply paint to and are then able to use it to make beautiful prints. It is hard to explain, and so I plan on doing some videos for you soon. I am starting a 3 week class on this new tool on Monday, so that I can be a Gel Press expert and then plan to teach a class for my customers.
Since my Gel Press got here on Thursday afternoon I have been playing with it. FUN, FUN, FUN! Here is one of the prints I made.
For this print I used Lemon Drop, Citrus Cooler and Candy Apple acrylic paint from Fun Stampers Journey, this way it matches my ink pads and card stock. Then I used my brayer to spread the paint over the 8-1/2" x 11" Gel Press. Then I laid down the Polka Dot Stencil. Then I placed a piece of paper over the top and pressed it down and rubbed, picking up a polka dot print on that piece. Then I lifted up my paper and stencil and laid down a second piece of Whip Cream card stock and picked up this print. At first look I was not overly impressed with it and just set it aside. Then today I decided that I wanted to try and make some cards with the prints that I made. I decided to use this one that I did not love as much as some others, that way I wasn't too sad to cut it or mess it up.
I started by cutting a piece to 3-7/8" x 5-1/8", this is it...
I decided to make this into a fall themed card. First step in the transformation was to stamp the Canvas Background stamp over the top with Hazelnut Blend ink. And then splatter some Gold Silk over that.
As you can see I did not ink my Canvas Background stamp too heavily and when I stamped it, I lightly pressed the paper on to the stamp, giving me some lighter areas and others that are darker. And with the Gold Silk, the more the better!
I wanted to mount my background onto a piece of Citrus Cooler card stock, but always feel so much card stock is wasted, when I only need a little border around the edge. Heres a little tip for you, use the Journey Rectangles Dies to cut out the center of your panel, giving just a frame to mount your background on. Then I used the piece that came out of the center to die cut the leaf for the front of my card. Not only that, then I used the piece with the leaf cut out of it for the inside panel of my card, a nice bright piece to write a note on.
The main stamp set I used for this card is Holiday Celebrations, I liked the "Give Thanks" image for this card. I like the images in this stamp set because they are sentiments, but also have some cute images added to the saying. Take a look at my finished card.
How do you like that background now? Its fun, unique and bold.
The ribbon I used is Pumpkin Patch ribbon, it is so nice and sturdy! And also, so super cute! I first tied this around my background that was already mounted to the Citrus Cooler frame. Next I die cute a small rectangle with the pierced edge using the same rectangle dies. I put adhesive on the back and slipped that under my ribbon. Then I added my sentiment, which I embossed with Journey White embossing powder on Hazelnut Blend card stock. In the bottom corner I added my die cut leaf. Did you notice the detail on that leaf! It is one of our dies that you can not only cut with but emboss with. The Platinum and Amaze machines come with an embossing plate and rubber mat. So, after you die cut the leaf, you run that through again, the die cut leaf on the die, but use the rubber mat and embossing plate to press the detail into the card stock. FANCY, right!?! Lastly, I made my own epoxy dots from Hazelnut Blend card stock. I punched out three of the largest circle using my Press Punch. Then I glued them to my card and covered them with Journey Glaze to "enamel" my dots. I think they just tie it all together and anchor that back ground down.
I have to say when this card was done I did have one of those moments, they moment when your like YEAH, I made this, check it out, it's dang cute! But there was no one there to see it and let's be honest had my husband been there to see it he may not have given me the exact reaction I wanted. That is why I have this blog, so I can share my creation with you, who care as much about these things as I do and know how much joy making a card can give a person! Now, if I could just give the card to a person, I also have moments where it is hard to let my creations go. You?
OH, one more pic, check out the inside of this card, remember I told you I put the piece of card stock with the leaf cut out of it on the inside....
Now I have a piece that is light enough for a little note, when I am able to let go of it and mail it that is.
Guess WHAT! That is not all I made, nope, I made two other cards using that same print from my Gel Press! So, if you come back tomorrow I will have card #2 to share with you. It's another cute one! a Halloween theme this time! But first let me know what you think of this card.
And here is a look at all the fun things I used to make this card

I had a very fun class on Wednesday making Poinsettia Burst Christmas cards with my customers. I always like to make them all a little "party favor" to take home from my classes. I thought a Christmas gift tag to match the cards they were making would be the perfect thing.
It all started as a simple rectangle of Cranberry Bliss card stock (2-1/2" x 4-1/4"). I stamped some of the images from the Poinsettia Burst stamp set on the tag as a background with the same color ink.
I wanted the flowers and leaves to be shiny, so I first inked the flowers with Clear Pigment Ink, then in the Cranberry Bliss ink. I stamped the flower on Whip Cream card stock and because I had a base of the clear pigment ink the ink stayed wet long enough for me to emboss the image with clear pigment ink. I did the same with Fresh Forrest ink and the leaves.
To dress up my flowers I added some Fashion Gold Pearls to the centers.
I wanted to make the tag versatile, so I punched a whole in the corner of the tag, and tied on piece of Gold Twine. With it tied in a bow you can secure the tag to a wrapped package. Or, loosen the bow and tie the tag onto the handle of a gift bag.
My favorite part of the tag is the Gold Silk splattered and the torn card stock across the bottom. Love is in the details.
Here are the fun things I used to make these tags:

BB Club is a free event for my subscribers and this being the first month I am providing one make and take card for free to anyone who wants to attend but it not a Bloom Box subscriber. That way they can just come and check it out and see what Bloom Box is all about.
So, I thought I would share with you two of my creation with this stamp set.
I really wanted to use my Graduated Dots Background stamp with the Pop Art stamp set. It is my favorite stamp and that is because it looks like "Benday Dots" that make up much of Pop Art.
I stamped the woman image in Black Licorice for the focal image and then in Candy Apple and Beach Ball, which I used as layering pieces.
I finished the card off with a die cut circle, punched arrows and the little punched out stars.
To color both of the woman images in my cards I used the Color Burst Pencils. Look at the amazing, bright colors I was able to achieve.
Card number two incorporates the Graduated Dots background stamp as well, on the yellow layer. This card was inspired by the idea of sitting down with the funny papers and drinking your morning cup of coffee. You can see the brown coffee mug rings and drips in the back ground. For that look I used the bottom of a yogurt container, like stamp with my Hazelnut Blend ink pad. An actual much seemed too big for this look. The "drops" were made using the large stylus end for the Bloom Tool. I dipped it in a puddle of Hazelnut Blend ink and stamped the end of the stylus tool right on the card stock.
I added some strips of card stock that I punched with the hand held Star Punch and secured them with a staple.
I love how fun this stamp set is, unique and playful.

I love the sponged background in the Pool Party color. This idea was on one of the cards we made for the RG Presents event in July, I loved it so much I incorporated it on two of the cards we are making for this class.
The Poinsettia's embossed with Gold is so stunning with the black accents. And I love the pine bows peeking out from behind the flowers. Such a beautiful Christmas card, I would hope those that receive it will display it during the holidays.

I have another one of the cards I designed for my upcoming Poinsettia Burst Christmas Card class to share with you today. I love the simplicity of this card.
Even though this is a simple card it has some features that make it special. The background paper on this card has been spritzed with Gold Splash. Which gives it an overall gold shimmer.
The sentiment, from the Holiday Wishes stamp set, is embossed with gold powder. I love how this makes the sentiment stand out and shine.
The holly leaves have a special addition to them as well. They have been glazed with Journey Glaze. The picture did not capture this very well, but it gives them a nice shine and enhances the color of the leaves and berries.

Thank you for taking time to stop and visit my blog, stay tuned for more of my Poinsettia Burst projects for my upcoming class. I am here if you have any questions or need help with a paper crafting project.
Did you know that I was in the running for Fun Stampers Journey's Designer Showcase? It is their new Design Team! I previously shared with you the projects that I made for round 1 and have been waiting to hear back on the projects I submitted for round two. Where they would announce the team they selected. It was announced yesterday via a live Facebook video. And JOY of JOYS, I am one of the new Designer Showcase team members!
I am overwhelmed with the announcement. I am filled with joy and just feel so blessed! I thought I would share with you one of the cards that I sent in for this round of submissions.
I used one of my most favorite Christmas stamp sets in a long time, Poinsettia Burst, from the just released Journey Holidays Mini Catalog.
Poinsettias, holly and pine bow, this makes me so happy. Not to mention there are dies to cut it out! For this card I wanted to "sugar" the poinsettias. I love the look of all things glittered a Christmas time. So, that is what I did to my flowers.
To do this I added some Journey Glaze to my flowers and then gently sprinkled them with some Sparkle Cuts. I did each flower and leave one at a time. Then set them aside to dry.
Then I set to work on my card. For the top green layer of the card I use Green Olive card stock and embossed my saying with clear ink and clear powder. Then, I sprizted the card with Gold Splash. You can see how the saying took on a vintage look after being spritzed.
To put the card together I layered up all the pieces of the poinsettia with foam squares. Added the printed paper from the Christmas Cheer collection onto a piece of Cranberry Bliss card stock. Once that was mounted to the card I tied on some Special Day Organza Ribbon.
For the very last step, I added some Journey glaze to the printed paper and to some punched out circles that I mounted on the car, to be "berries".
We will be making a version of this card at my upcoming Poinsettia Burst Christmas card class on Wednesday, August 23rd. If you are near the Eagle, Idaho area I would love for you to come stamp with us. We have a fun time at my classes. I will plan three card and you get to choose how many cards you want to make.
Here are the options:
OPTION 1: 1 of each card for a total of 3 cards = $15
OPTION 2: 2 of each card for a total of 4 cards = $25
OPTION 3: 3 of each card for a total of 6 cards = $35
There are two class sessions as well; the afternoon session is 1-3pm and the evening class is 6:30 - 8:30pm.

Hey there stamping friends. Today I am sharing a card I made using a techniques I created to make my own Faux Wood Grain Paper. If you would like to learn how to make this paper I have a FREE TUTORIAL for all my customers who place an order with me in the month of August.
Here is the card, using the Faux Wood Grain paper that I made. It is very similar to the projects in my tutorial. In fact it was in the running for the tutorial and then I made another version of this card and went with that for the tutorial.
But what I LOVE about this card is the little heart in the top left corner of the card, it is suppose to look like a heart carved into the tree. The saying is so subtle on top of the wood grain, which is why it did not make the cut for the tutorial. But I still love it enough to send it and share it with you here.
Here are the projects that made the tutorial. Pretty cute things, a shadow box like card, a tree trunk treat holder and a note card.
