Hi my stamping friends.
I had a very fun class on Wednesday making Poinsettia Burst Christmas cards with my customers. I always like to make them all a little "party favor" to take home from my classes. I thought a Christmas gift tag to match the cards they were making would be the perfect thing.
It all started as a simple rectangle of Cranberry Bliss card stock (2-1/2" x 4-1/4"). I stamped some of the images from the Poinsettia Burst stamp set on the tag as a background with the same color ink.
I wanted the flowers and leaves to be shiny, so I first inked the flowers with Clear Pigment Ink, then in the Cranberry Bliss ink. I stamped the flower on Whip Cream card stock and because I had a base of the clear pigment ink the ink stayed wet long enough for me to emboss the image with clear pigment ink. I did the same with Fresh Forrest ink and the leaves.
To dress up my flowers I added some Fashion Gold Pearls to the centers.
I wanted to make the tag versatile, so I punched a whole in the corner of the tag, and tied on piece of Gold Twine. With it tied in a bow you can secure the tag to a wrapped package. Or, loosen the bow and tie the tag onto the handle of a gift bag.
My favorite part of the tag is the Gold Silk splattered and the torn card stock across the bottom. Love is in the details.
Here are the fun things I used to make these tags:
