Welcome to Day 2 of Bloom This Way Launch Party hosted by the Fun Stampers Journey Designer's Showcase Team.
January 1st - 5th members of the Designers Showcase team will each be sharing a creation that we have been working on as part of a display for the upcoming Fun Stampers Journey Leadership Conference. It's a fun way to launch the just released Bloom This Way catalog. We will all be featuring products from this new catalog in the projects that we share.
I am excited to be featuring the new Build-A-Super stamp set. I have to admit when I was given the line of super girl products I felt I was in for a real challenge. Then, I decided that I would create a birthday party ensemble. I have designed for many birthday parties with a wide range of themes and a Super Girl party would be one that I would LOVE. I started with this card, a card that would be for the birthday girl.
As you can see a giant squid has taken over the city and it is up to Super Girl to take him out. She has used her powers to grow even bigger that this bucket of slime and will return peace and safety to the city in no time.
To color my super hero I used True Color Fusion ink and Fusion Blending Solution with a brush. I love the ombre look I was able to give her outfit. My favorite part of her outfit though, has to be the shine. I covered her clothing in Journey Glaze, giving it that all over look of patent leather that all super heroes costumes have.
Another fun thing about the Build-A -Super girl is when she is all put together she can be quite tall. This card is not your standard A5 size (5-1/2" x 4-1/4") card, when closed it measures 5" x 7". You do not have to limit yourself to putting her on this big of a card. This set lets you build your own super girl, so you are able to make her legs as long as you want or only use a portion of the girl. I will be sharing more of my creations with this collection of products soon, showing you other ways to use the super girl. I love the creative freedom I have with this stamp set. And it is just so much fun, how cool is it that a card like this could help bring out the inner super hero in girls of all ages.
To complete the comic book feel of my card I included these other products from the Build-A -Super collection; the Super Accessories stamp set, the Super Party stamp set, the Hero City Die and the Birthday Pop Prints paper. You can see all the fun things I used to make this card below.
