Welcome to another Makery Challenge!
Each month I partner with my friend and downline, Barbara Miller for a Makery Challenge. We pick four elements and design a project around them. Here is the challenge for March.
We both made our projects using the items listed above. First up is my Card Carrier Bag.
The bag itself is die cut using the Card Carrier Die set. This bag perfectly fits a set of 3-5 cards, depending on their thickness. The base is abut 1" wide.
This is a two piece die set, one die for the bag and one die for the handle. To make one bag cut two of the bag pieces and two of the handle piece. Use the tabs on the side and bottom to glue the two pieces together to make the bag. TIP: for your handles, cut a few and glue them together to make a stronger handle.
For the rainbow part of my card I die cut the Artful Burst die from a piece of paper that I made a print on with my Gel Press. I made prints all the time and have built up a nice stash to use as custom background paper. If you are interested in learning more about the Gel Press, here is a link to my Gel Press 101 class.
I colored my Unicorn using Journey Color Burst pencils in three shades of pink, giving the mane a ombre effect. The horn and hooves are colored gold with a gold Gel Pen.
To add glitter to this card, I covered the mane and the pink star by the unicorn with Journey Glaze and sprinkled on some Sparkle Cuts.
I love the way this bag turned out, this die is so much fun to play with and makes the perfect size gift bag for gifting hand made cards. Of course you can put a little treat or cards in it.
Now lets take a look at the bag that Barbara made.
I love they way Barbara used ribbon for her handles! And she added a scalloped border trim around the top of the bag, great touches. And look how glittery her unicorn's mane is! You can find out more about Barbara's bag on her blog, www.inkybsjourney.com
Below is a list of supplies I used to make my bag.
Thank you for taking time out of you day to stop by and let me share my creations with you. Please let me know if you any any questions or need help a craft project.
