Do you love home decor and decorating your house for every holiday?
Home decor has never come easy to me, nor has it been something that I put much effort into. I just did not know what to do. Recently I decided to use my love of paper crafting to create some home decor pieces, it's time to up my decorating game. I am very proud of what I have made and think my touch of Easter decor around the house is cute. Don't get me wrong, I still have a ways to go. But, it really is fun to have eggs and bunnies and baskets around.
Today I have one of my decor projects to share with you. It started with some cute egg crates I got from Fun Stampers Journey. And some paper mâché eggs that were in my closet for a WHILE.
Doesn't that just cheer up my table!
Paper mâché eggs look like this out of the package. You can find them at most craft stores.
There was way too much brown going on here. So I pulled out my acrylic paints and started to paint my eggs. I used Pineapple Smoothie, Bubble Gum and Cool Pool paints for my eggs. To give them their splatter I use Dark Roast Silk.
I added a bit of what I call, "scrunchie paper" and into the egg create went my cute little eggs. They are now apart of my table center piece. And go so nicely with my Pioneer Woman glass butter dish!
If you'd like to see how I painted these, check out the video below. I have a weekly series on my Facebook page called Facebook Friday, where I go live each Friday night sharing a new project! These silk speckled eggs were the project I shared last night. When you click over to watch the video make sure you like and follow my page so that you can catch all my videos. I love having my friends there to create with me!
Here you can view all the supplies I used to make this project (minus the eggs and foam brush, both I had on hand and can be found at your local craft store)
Please let me know if you have any questions and thank you for taking time out of your day to stop and visit me!
