Set Sail Bloom Box

Today I am sharing another stamp set that is great for masculine cards. The set is called Set Sail (SS-0618).  It came in my June Bloom Box from FSJ.  I love nautical themed everything.  Also, in the Bloom Box are four card kits.  This is one of the kits made into a card, with a little addition of my own. 

I added the World Map background stamp to the base of the card. I think it helps draw the eye into the ship.  I love that little ship in a bottle!

The cork on the bottle has been paper pieced.  The bottle is stamped with Black Licorice on Cool Pool card stock.  Then I stamped just the cork end on a piece of  Oatmeal Cookie in Black Licorice, cut it out and glue it over the top of the one on the Cool Pool Card stock.  Attention to the little details on hand made cards is what makes them so special. 

To color the ship I used the Journey Color Burst pencils. Can I just say, it is so relaxing to sit back and color an image and watch it come to life. 

Now, let me tell you about the snafu I had with my waves. First of all I fussy cut them before I realized there is a die for the waves!  No worries.  Second, I covered my waves with Journey Glaze.  I was moving things around on my desk a while later and a piece of paper touched the almost dried glaze.  I tried carefully to remove it but, paper stuck to it.  I ended up scraping that paper off and was feeling like I ruined my card!  Then I realized it gave the waves a bit of textures and so I decided to leave it instead of rip it on and make new ones.  There is no stress in stamping friends!  Especially when you have a kit ready to make cards with.  I love the Bloom Box when I want to play but my creative brain is needing a break.  

Another bit of news on Bloom Box stamp sets.  After the month is over Bloom Box stamp sets will now be available in my On-Line store for 3 months!  So, you can purchase the Set Sail Bloom Box today, but after today you will be getting the July Bloom Box.  If you want the Set Sail stamp set (SS-0618) and die set (DI-0488), search them at my On-Line store through September.

Hit the Road with PanPastel background

Have you had a chance to play with PanPastels before?  If not, let me tell you a little bit about them.

Fun Stampers Journey has partnered with them to have a collection of PanPastels that match their colors.  And they are so much fun to create with.  Today's card features the Party Pop PanPastels as well as the Hit the Road stamp set which happens to be June's Stamp Set of the Month.  

Here's how I used PanPastels to make this background. 

1. Stamp images with Clear Pigment Ink on Whip Cream card stock. 
2. Pick up a small (2 swipes) of PanPastel and rub on to this stamped background. The PanPastel will stick to the stamped image and color the card stock around it. 
3. Repeat this with as many colors as you like, blending them at the edges. I started with the Yellow, then Blue then Red. 
4. Lightly stamp the Canvas Prints background stamp over the top with Beach Ball ink. 
5. Spray background with Shimmer Silver Splash. 
6. Splatter Black Licorice Silk over the top.

I added one more element to this card after the video was over.  I covered the entire truck with Journey Glaze to give it some shine. 

 

Here you can see what the card looks like with the gift card behind the truck.  I love that when you remove the gift card you still have a cool card. Remember, just put your small foam squares around sides and bottom of the truck so that the gift card will fit.

Open Arms for Honey

Have you seen the Open Arms stamp set in the Spring into Summer catalog by Fun Stampers Journey?

It is so darn cute!  I love the cute little creatures and the mushrooms. 

For this card I brayered some yellow paint over the Polka Dot stencil while it was on my Gel Press. I added some white paint to give it an ombre effect. 

Once my background was dry I stamped the circles with the small honey comb image from this set. 

I hand cut the dripping honey to add to his paw.  And to add the look of real honey, I added some Journey Glaze to in a few areas.  It looks so sticky!

Smoothie Swap

Hey there stamping friends.  Today I am sharing another one of the swaps I made for my trip to Fun Stampers Journey convention.  This swap is for the Manager's reception.  An exclusive event FSJ throws for all the coaches who are Managers and above.  So, why not do a swap!? The theme for this swap was rainbow. 

I made a rainbow background on my Gel Press, just as I did for this Fruit Loops card.

To make the smoothie the same as the background I simply die cut the cup from the middle of the print.  And that spot is covered up with the black and white panel, so no one need ever know.  But you of course. The cup, lid and straw are part of the Coffee First die set, such fun dies! 

I also made a little matching tag and coordinating envelope.  

I can not wait to see what the other managers make for this swap!  I will be sharing them with you soon.

Small Things Swap

Well, today is the day, I am off to Fun Stampers Journey Convention. Phoenix in June, sounds pleasant, right!  It won't matter what the temperature soars to, we will be having so much fun that it won't matter! One of the fun things we do at convention is SWAP!  Everyone from my team that is attending convention decided to do a swap together.  There was not theme, we just needed to use current product to make our cards.  I thought you'd like to see the card I made for this swap. 

For the Monarch butterfly in the center of the card I started by making my own background paper on my Gel Press with acrylic paint.  Once that was dry I stamped my butterfly on that background and cut it out.  I cut off the legs and the antenna.  And I glued this on top of a butterfly stamped on the white circle, giving the butterfly back it's extremities.

3D Stars for the 4th

Need a cute DIY project for the 4th? I had a lot of fun with this project, using paint, stamps and decorative paper.

Hit the Road with a Splash

With Father's Day just around the corner, I knew I wanted this month's Stamp Set of the Month to be my favorite set for masculine cards. Hit the Road is by far my favorite masculine stamp set. 

I have made many cards with this set and still I go to it time and time again.  Below is the first creation I made on my Monday night LIVE video for this month's Stamp Set of the month. 

For easy coloring of the truck and the Route 66 sign I used a Splashes from Fun Stampers Journey. 

I love how easy it is to get a vintage look on the truck with this easy technique.

Patriotic Banner

Do your holiday decorations end at Christmas?  I have struggled with home decor beyond the fall and winter holidays.  But I love having a cute mantel for each season.  So this year I am doing a Patriotic themed mantel for the summer months. 

Here the banner I made to hang above my fireplace. 

As you can see I have a few other things to go with this look.  

I used two different stamp sets for this banner, Bravo Grad for the firework image and All You Do for the flag image. 

I layered three die cut shapes to make each banner piece; Banner Parade, Pennant Fun and Star-Dom.  

To accent my banner I used Silver Tinsel Trim, Silver Pearls, Whip Cream and Sparkle Silk and Journey Glaze.  I glazed the star part of each flag and each stripe.

SUPPLIES

The basic supplies that you need to have on hand to finish this projects for the June class are:

Black ink pad, Clear Pigment ink pad, Scissors, foam squares, glue, mini glue dots, crease tool, clear acrylic blocks to mount your stamps to. 

If you'd like to use the exact supplies I will be using they are listed below, just click on an image to shop for it. There is a link to the coordinating die set as well. 

 

All product for the kits will be ordered and prepared by me after the registration deadline.  As per FSJ policy, I do not have products on hand ready to ship.  Therefore, it takes about 10-12 days after the deadline for me to order, cut, prepare and ship all the class kits.  Class kits can only be mailed with in the United States.  

 

Registration will close on JUNE 8th. 

Expected shipping date of all kits is June 18th.
