Do you love Polkadots? Do you love new techniques? How about a quick and easy technique that WOW's? Todays blog post has all of those things! Keep reading and I will show you how to get a fun background using PanPastels, a rubber stamp, and a stencil.
Take a look at that background, do you see how the patten carries through the polkadots to the background! It really just makes me giddy! And when I got the Color Me Fall background stamp I knew I had to try my Layering PanPastels technique with it.
Let me show you how easy this technique is.
STEP 1: Start with a pice of Whip Cream card stock. Stamp your image with Clear Pigment ink. Cover this stamped image with a light color of PanPastels, using a large Sofft Tool sponge. NOTE: I used the Rich Sorbet set of PanPastels on this card.
You can see the stamp image starts to appear. The PanPastel colors the entire paper, but the color is more intense on the stamped image.
STEP 2: Once the entire paper is covered with your first layer of PanPastel it's time to pull out the stencil you want to use and a coordinating color of PanPastel that is darker than the first. Tape your card stock panel down to your scratch paper. Tape your stencil in place. NOTE: I like to use Washi tape for this, but painters tape works great too. Apply the second layer of PanPastel.
The PanPastel still sticks to the stamped image! So cool, right!!! Tap off any access PanPastel dust that remains.
STEP 3: This optional step really puts the background over the top. Spray the background with Shimmer Gold Splash, be sure to swirls your splash around to mix the shimmer in with the liquid. If your color combo does not go good with gold you can omit this step or try another splash, however the Shimmer Gold is a light dusting of shimmer where others lay down a coat of color. I would suggest testing them out on scratch paper before spraying your background.
You can use this technique with different stamped images, different colors of PanPastels and different stencils. Click here to watch my YouTube video, where I used this technique to make a Halloween Card.
Here's some GREAT news for you, the PanPastels are currently 20% for the month of August! Great time to get yourself a set! They are $10 off, it's a deal you can't pass up!
To finish this card off I use a sentiment from the ATS, Gather Together. And added some gold accented pinecones using the die set, Branch & Cone.
Below are all the supplies I used to make this card, click and image to view it in my online store. While you are there be sure to check out the Prepped to Play sale, there are a lot of fun products on sale including all the PanPastel sets.
Thank you for taking time to stop and visit my blog. I love sharing my creations with you.
