Welcome to another FSJ Creative Team Blog Hop!
Not only is this a Blog Hop but it is also a giveaway! Keep reading to find out how you can be entered to win a $25 gift certificate from Spellbinders/FSJ. And a stamp set from me!
The theme of this Blog Hop is My Favorite Die. One of my favorite dies by Spellbinders/FSJ is the Card Carrier Die set.
I have made a lot of fun things with this die and have found that it is very versatile for a 2 piece die set. Today I am going to show you a variation of the gift bag as well as another way to use this die.
First up is the bag.
This is a generous bag that is big enough to hold three or four A2 size cards. The sides are gusseted and it really looks like a mini paper bag.
I cut a piece of Whip Cream card stock to 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" as a panel for the front of this black die cut bag. I created a background by stamping the Graduated Dots background stamp on the Whip Cream card stock with Clear Pigment ink and then rubbing on a light blue PanPastel. I love the soft look of this background, but for some contrast I then splattered it with Black Licorice Silk.
I dressed up the front panel with some stamped flowers and a sentiment from the Layered Rose stamp set. This is the stamp set I am giving away over on my YouTube channel. Click the video below to watch it on my YouTube channel. Leave a comment on my video on my YouTube page and you could be one of two lucky winners that I will be giving the Layered Rose stamp set to.
The fun variation I did to make this bag different is that I did not use the die that comes with this set to make the handle. Instead I used ribbon. I wanted the ribbon to lay flat on the inside of the bag and that is why I created a liner. I die cut a second strip of just the top of the bag to give the top edge a second layer. I will show you how to do this in the video demonstration.
Now, take a look at this coordinating pencil holder.
It is a fun way to use just one die cut panel from the Card Carrier die. With just a few cuts and a fold you can make this cut little pencil holder. Of course it could hold lots of things, chocolate is always good!
You can see how I made these projects in this video, be sure to click over to my YouTube channel and leave a comment on this video for a chance to win the Layered Rose stamp set I used on these projects.
