Introducing the June Stamp Set of the Month, my pick for the stamp and die set I will be showcasing for the month of June.
It's the Rawrsome stamp and die set by Lawn Fawn! For the month of June I thought a set that I could make masculine cards with was just the thing. Of course dinosaurs are for everyone, so I am going to have fun making cards and things for Dad and my girls too.
This is a versatile set even if i's a dinosaur set, you can make cards that do not have a dinosaur on them, like my card today.
This card is inspired by the Pixar short film, I Lava You.
It is my favorite! A story about how the Hawaiian Islands were formed by two love sick volcanoes who finally find each other. You can watch it on YouTube, HERE. Let me know if you needed a tissue!
So, after watching that I am sure you love it, I mean lava it too. And that is why my first card with this stamp set had to be a volcano card.
I had fun coloring in these cuties with my Copic Markers, I am some what of a newbie with Copics and I have to say I think I am making some headway and am pleased with how these turned out, after 3 practice ones that I did not use.
The blended ink background is Distress Oxide ink. I masked off the island and blended the sky and then reversed that and ink blended an island. For a one layer background for my volcanoes. Then I added a top layer, a window, so to speak. The Limeade Splash paper is embossed with the Fiddle Leaf embossing folder by Fun Stampers Journey. I love the tropical leaf feel of this folder. The oval, branches and flower dies are from the Modern Frame die set also by FSJ. For the branches I use Lemon Grass card stock, which is the same card stock I used for the card base. I also love the wave element in the window, giving the card a bit of a 3D feel.
You can watch the making of this card on my YouTube channel. While you are there be sure to subscribe and then click on the bell, then you will be notified every time I post a new video. I post a new video one or two time a week. AND, I am giving this card away. Just like and comment on the video on my YouTube channel and you will be entered to win it.
