QUESTIONS?
Please leave a comment on this post if you have any questions, I am glad to help.
Do you have stamp sets that you are so excited to play with and yet they have sat in the packaging untouched longer that you wanted? That's what happened with the Gem Turnabout Stamp and Die set from Concord & 9th.
When I got it I was excited with how cute it is. I have played a lot with Concord & 9th's turnabout stamp sets, but this was the first time I used a mini turnabout set. I found it very easy to use and the multicolored background of gems is so cute.
I used a light and dark blue and a light and dark purple for my gem turnabout background. All 4 of these colors are from Fun Stampers Journey; Pool Play, Beach Ball, Pretty Amethyst and Deep Lilac.
I wanted the focal image, the large die cut gem to really be the focus of this card and thought the blue ink blended behind the circle really helped to draw the eye in towards that gem. The Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink, coordinates really nicely with the Beach Ball ink and card stock.
I used Pretty Amethyst and Deep Lilac card stock to die cut the gem using the coordinating die set. To make it sparkle, I covered it with Sparkle Silk and Journey glaze. The end result is a very shiny gem with a lot of shimmer when you turn it in the light.
You can watch the making of this card below. The video was done live on my Facebook page, which you can find HERE if you'd like to catch my LIVE videos.

Today is Part 4 of my June Stamp Set of the Month series! It is the last Monday that I will be bringing you creations with the Rawrsome stamp set. Not to say that I will not be using this stamp set again, because I certainly will, it is so cute. In fact I'd love to ask Lawn Fawn to make a mini stamp set to go with it that has a T-Rex!
I have loved all the cards and boxes that I have made this month, and have made some really fun masculine cards. But today's creation might be my favorite! Because it was inspired by a sweatshirt that my daughter Hannah has. Every time she wears it she gets compliments on it from people of all ages.
Do you love the pink and green? I LOVE IT SO MUCH. Here is the sweatshirt that inspired this card.
And now you know why I need a Lawn Fawn T-Rex stamp!
Now let's chat about coloring on White Card stock vs. Colored card stock.
Colored Card stock is not as smooth as white card stocks. Which means you will have different results even when using the same pencils and same techniques as on white paper.
To use or not to use Gamsol. For this card I did not use Gamsol on the focal image, the dinosaur colored on white card stock. I don't find it necessary to do so on white. I like just using my pencils in light layers and blending them with each other. Then I come in with a Blending Nub and burnish the pencil in to the paper. Doing this with our the Gamsol will soften the pencil lines, and blend out the colors even more. BUT, I did use the Gamsol on the colored card stock. It is very hard to get a blended soft look on colored card stock. With the use of Gamsol I am able to soften those pencil lines out so that my image does not have the scratchy pencil look. I find Gamsol is a must on colored card stock.
Pencils are the way to go on colored card stock! If you want an image colored in on colored card stock, then colored pencils should be one of the first things you reach for. They will stay most true to color on colored card stock. This medium sits on top of the paper and does not soak in like a marker will. When I colored in my dinosaurs on my background I used a different technique than with the white card stock. I first colored side to side and then added a second layer, coloring the image up and down. It's like going with the grain of the paper and then against it. This helps to fill in all the area with color. But to completely do this with a clean look Gamsol and a blending nub are the trick.
Blending Nub is the last step. On both papers, with or with out Gamsol, make sure all your coloring is done before you blend it out with the blending nub. Very little can be done to add color once you take this step. On the pink card stock, I also used a heavier hand to outline the edge of the dinos before adding the Gamsol. Gamsol helps fill in the tooth of the card stock as does burnishing the color with just the blending nub. Once that is done color can not be added.
Are you a colored pencil user? I'd love to hear if you like to use Gamsol or not when finishing up an image.

And of course I had to make a little party favor box to go with this card. I used the new die set, Small Fry Box, by Inky Stamper. You can see the making of this box in the video below. Such an easy box to make and so darn cute!
Thank you for stopping by! I'd love for you to check out the video, leave a comment over on YouTube and you will be entered to WIN this pink dino card!

So excited to be apart of another reveal, a new product by Inky Stamper, the Small Fry Box die set!
This Small Fry Box is the cutest little thing. I had so much fun making it I did not stop at one, but made six!
It's hard for me to not make things in a rainbow of colors!
This small fry box is easy to die cut from a piece of card stock that is 5-1/2" x 4-1/4", which means that you can die cut 4 boxes from one piece of 8-1/2" x 11" piece of card stock, LOVE THAT! It makes it easy to make a bunch of these as a party favor!
The size of this box makes it easy to do a lot of fun things, like stamp it with a background stamp and emboss it with an embossing folder! Check out my video below to see all the other ideas I came up with for this box.
Did you notice that I did not end up using the Double Bow die? You'll have to stay tuned for that project!
So, which box is your favorite?
I thought the Lawn Fawn stamp set, A Little Sparkle, was the perfect thing for these little boxes. You could dress them up with any of you little stamp images.
Below I have listed and linked all the supplies I used to make today's projects. Please feel free to ask any questions you might have, I love interacting with you!
I am in love with the June Glimmer Hot Foil kit of the month from Spellbinders. This month's kit has flower plates and dies to cut the flowers out, as well as a roll of pink foil!
I loved using the Scattered Dots plate on top of a Gel Press background that I decided to try that technique with this new set of plates.
The Gel Press print I used for my flowers was created using acrylic paint on a Gel Press. I spread the paint out on the plate with a brayer and then used a piece of burlap to create texture in the paint. Then I laid a piece of card stock on top of this paint to pull it up and create the print. If you'd like to see print making in action, check out THIS VIDEO where I create some prints and turn them into cards.
Now I have a very unique print I can use as a background, or in this case to hot foil flowers and die cut them out for my card.
I had a roll of pink foil on hand, but the foil that came with this kit is lighter. So, on my card I decided to use both. They work great together and I love having the two tones of pink side by side.
Here you can see the darker pink foil on the small flower and the lighter pink on the large flower. I love that the foiled image is almost pressed into the card stock. And the shine is so much fun! I also used the dark pink foil on the center piece for the biggest flower. I did not have any green foil for my stem, so I used Gold foil on top of a green gel press print.
The die cut sentiment is also from Concord & 9th, Little Thoughts die set is the free gift with purchase for the month of June. I die cut it from Gold Mirror card stock. And finished off my card with some gold hearts from the same die set.
You can watch the making of this card below. This video is from a recent Facebook Live, you can follow me on Facebook here.

Welcome to Part 3 of my June Stamp Set of the Month series featuring Lawn Fawn's Rawrsome stamp and die set.
Every Monday I have new creations with this stamp set for you. Let's check them out and watch the video of the making of these two projects. Remember to comment on the video on my YouTube channel and you could win the card I make!
One of the things I love about this stamp set is the fun sentiments. And that they can be for Father's Day or Birthday or any other occassion. I purposely left the inside of the card blank so that when the time comes the appropriate sentiment can be added there, like Happy Birthday. Also, this set has the word Mom in it as well.
Lawn Fawn's stamp sets are great for creating a scene. Sometimes that can seem overwhelming. So, for this card I die cut a circle for my scene. Somehow having a smaller area seemed less overwhelming. I used two colors of distress oxide ink to set my scene; Salty Ocean and Ground Espresso. Then of course I splattered this with water, it is so much fun to do with Distress Oxide inks that I find it very hard not to spritz my backgrounds every time.
For all of the coloring I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. These water based makers blend together so nicely. You can catch the coloring and the exact markers I used in the video below.
For the coordinating treat box I used the Triangle Treat Box die by Fun Stampers Journey. Adding the lava layer to the top easily transforms this box into a volcano.
The splatter of erupting lava adds to the feel that this volcano is erupting and there might not be a tomorrow for my dinos. To easily create this splatter I used Cranberry Bliss and Citrus Cooler silks, another great product by FSJ.
Inside this box is a cellophane bag filled with a treat to give with the card. But it would also make a great party favor!
You can watch the making of these projects here. Be sure to click over and leave a comment on the video for a chance to win today's card!

Today I get the privilege of sharing a new line of stamps and dies with you from Inky Stamper! The person behind Inky Stamper is my friend Chelsea Comer. She just started her own line of stamps and dies! When she asked me if I'd like to design some projects for her release I jumped at the chance to help my friend. She sent me her new Dragonfly stamp set. Check out how cute he is!
Below I have a video for you featuring this stamp set on two projects. Check it out, and if you like the video give it a thumbs up to let me know.
Note: Before adding the stamp set to your cart you can click to purchase the stamp set with coordinating dies.
Now let's take a closer look at the projects I made.
I wanted the Dragonfly to be flying over a field of flowers. I used the flower from this stamp set as my starting point for this background. I stamped it with Clear Pigment ink and embossed it with clear powder. Then I was able to inkblend over the top of the flowers, making a ink resist background. To get this sunset look I used three Distress Oxide ink pads and some ink blending tools. From top to bottom the ink colors I used are Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry and Wild Honey. To get such a seamless blend I think paper choice is key. I used Neenah Classic Crest Solar White card stock. It's my favorite for ink blending, the ink seems to sit on top of the paper a bit longer, allowing you to move the ink around. To finish off this background I had to splatter it with water, my FAVORITE thing to do with Distress Oxide ink. And now I had the perfect scene for my Dragonfly.
I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to color in both my dragonflies. And what you can not see in the pictures is that I covered the wings and the eyes with a Wink of Stella clear shimmer pen.
Next up the Treat Box.
I loved coloring in this cute little guy so much I wanted to make a version of him that matched the ink blended background. It's so much fun to customize the dragonfly to go with your creation.
For the background on this box I stamped the cloud repeatedly over the entire box in Whip Cream ink. LOVE this cloud stamp! And then I used another clever image from the Dragonfly stamp set, the flight path image. It really adds to the playful feel of the Dragonfly.
That wraps up my two projects featuring the new Dragonfly stamp set by Inky Stamper. Be sure to click over to the Inky Stamper store to check out all the stamps and dies in this launch. And a great big CONGRATS to my friend Chelsea Comer for spreading her wings, reaching for the stars and making her dream a reality!
So, which dragonfly is your favorite? The more traditional colors or the bight and bold?

Happy Monday! Today I am bringing you Part 2 of my June Stamp Set of the Month series. That means a video and creations using the Rawrsome stamp and die set by Lawn Fawn. It's a stamp set that I picked to feature this month because it is versatile, has cute images and sentiments and, of course, a matching die set.
If you missed Part 1 you have to check it out, I made the cutest volcano card! Today I have created a card and matching gift box for Dad! You can check out the video below, but make sure you click over to YouTube and like as well a comment on the video so that you can be entered to win the card I made!
Now let's take a closer look at the Rawrsome Dad card made in this video.
These two dinosaur images are so cute! Seriously a Papa and baby dinosaur! I colored my images in using my Arteza Real Brush markers. Look at the blend! It's one of those things that we card maker's get excited about, because it was so easy and it turned out so good! Below I have linked the set that I have, the set of 48. But they also have a larger set of 96, if you love having ALL THE COLORS. Which I do and am so tempted to get, which is a real possibility because Arteza's products are so reasonably priced, and I am digging how this markers color. When I say they are a REAL BRUSH marker, I mean that the tip of the marker is not a felt tip like you might be used to, it is a brush. A brush like a paint brush. When you press down on the tip if fans out. That also means that the tip comes to a very fine point. So, you can going to use these a little different than you would a felt tip marker. These markers are water-based. Which means you can blend them! Blend them out with water, a blender pen, or with each other, like I did coloring in my dinos.
Now let's take a look at the coordinating gift box, made using the Popcorn Box die by Fun Stampers Journey.
For this dinosaur I reversed a coloring. Which do you like better, the blue dinosaur or the orange? Leave a comment below to let me know your pick.
In the video I show you how to make this box, which is large and best suited for a piece of 12x12 paper, using an 8-1/2" x 11" piece of card stock. The trick is to cut the card stock in half, so you have two pieces that are 5-1/2" x 8-1/2". Then on each piece cut one half of the box. Watch the video for my pointers and how to create a second tab to put this box together. It's pretty easy.
The oval on the front of the box was saved from the I Lava You card from last week. And, I used the Modern Frame die set to cut the two leafy branches from the same Gel Press print used to make today's card. I put some Cracker Jacks in the box for this picture, but I am going to be making some Almond Rocca for Dad for Father's Day.
Thank you so much for stopping by, taking time out of your day to let me share my creations with you! Below I have listed and linked all the products I used for these projects. If you have any questions just let me know, I love to chat with you.
I am so excited to bring you Part 2 of my SketchBox challenge. For Part 2 I am taking the backgrounds I made in Part 1 (see that video here) and turning them into cards. In Part 1 I used the watercolor paints from the June 2019 SketchBox to paint some watercolor panels. I have 4 backgrounds plus one image that I watercolored that I will be using in today's video. I LOVE how these cards turned out and hope that you like them as well and enjoy watching them be created in this video.
Now let's take a closer look at each of the 4 cards I made.
Card 1
That cow! I do love her! This background was made using the all the watercolors from the SketchBox in wide washes down the watercolor paper panel.
Someone tell me if it is weird to put a sentiment that say Beautiful on a card with a cow.
Card 2
The background for this cowgirl card was made with Deep Yellow, Pale Orange and Burnt Sienna watercolor paints. I randomly dotted the paint on a wet piece of watercolor paper.
And I do have to mention how excited I am with how my watercolored image turned out. I might like this watercoloring thing!
Card 3
So, I am not a gamer, and if you watched the video that was probably very clear. But how fun is this card. I am in love with that galaxy background, they are so much fun to make.
Card 4
This card was the hardest for me. But once I figured out that I needed to warm up that tree background I like it much better. To do that I added some brown to the trees and the ground, much better.
This squirrel is the image that I used the watercolors on for some no line coloring. Not too bad for my first time doing no line coloring with watercolors. I just stamped the image in a light tan color, Oatmeal Cookie, and then painted on the lines, so it looks as if I painted it, instead of it being a stamped image.
Overall I really loved this challenge, using the SketchBox to paint some watercolor background and then turning those into card. I used products I most likely would not have tried on my own and I love how the backgrounds tuned out. Which lead to 4 unique cards that I am also very pleased with.
So, which card is your favorite? Leave me a comment and let me know. I love to connect with you!
I have listed and linked all the supplies I used to make these cards for you below:

Thank you so much for stopping by! I love sharing my creations with you.
It was time. Time to step out of my comfort zone. Time to try something new that stretches me.
And that thing is SketchBox. SketchBox is an art subscription box. My 14 year old daughter is the one who gets this box in the mail. Her art form is drawning. So this months Sketchbox, themed watercoloring, did not excite her. So, I offered to take it off her hands and give it a try.
What could a rubber stamper card maker do with this Sketch box? I knew it was outside of my "art form" too. I am new to the world of watercoloring, but it is a medium that I am excited to learn more about and incorporate into card making.
So, check out this video and see what's in the June 2019 SketchBox (basic subscription) and what I make with it.
That was very much outside of my comfort zone. So, what are my thoughts?
The one tool from this box that I am familiar with and have used a lot is the H20 brush. And I loved this brush. You can tell it is a good brand. It does not leak water. It has a small, precision tip that stays together. I was able to do fine details with this and control the water, for the most part. What I did learn aobut controlling the water is that when you squeeze the barrel to let out water you will have a very wet brush for a minute or so. Knowing that, I will have even better results in the future. I will use this brush again! Here is a set of H20 brushes by Zig that has the brush from this kit in it.
As far as the watercolor paints. I have never used liquid watercolors before, in this form. I use inks of all kinds and found it to be similar to some that I have used to watercolor with. I loved the backgrounds that I made with these paints. Would I use them again??? I am honestly not sure that I will. If I had more colors I might, like this set here. I am more familiar with pan style watercolors and have a set that I will continue to use, it has 36 colors. It is a great set for someone who wants a nice set, that is reasonably priced. You can check that out here, Arteza Premium 36 Water Color set.
I do see myself using the KingArt Inkline Artists Pen again? I was easy to use and I can incorporate it into card making easily. I do wish it was waterproof, but knowing that is it not is again something I can work with. It is similar to the Micron Fine Liner pens I have used before.
Will I continue to subscribe to SketchBox? Although I had a great time playing with this box and seeing what I could create with its contents I would have to say No. I do not see myself subscribing to SketchBox as a rubber stamper. That being said the teaser email came out for the July box and there will be Copic Markers inside! So, I have went back and forth on this decision. I do already subscribe to the Glimmer Hot Foil plate of the month by Spellbinders. If you want to know what that is check out this video. If I am going to subscribe to a box I am leaning towards the My Monthly Hero Box by Hero Arts. Tell me if you think I should get the SketchBox or the My Monthly Hero Box in the comments below. I'd love your input!
Overall, I am so glad I did this. Playing with the SketchBox stretched and challenged me in ways that ink and stamps do not. And I will continue to try new things like this. I am not head over heels with the piece I made on the Aquaboard, but I am proud of myself for going for it. I risked ruining it, making something ugly and did it even though it was scary. And I really enjoyed it.
Be sure to tune into my YouTube channel and blog tomorrow for Part 2 of this series where I turn the backgrounds I made in this video into cards!
Below are all the supplies I used besides the SketchBox contents.
You can find out more about SketchBox HERE, it does make a great gift for any artist in your life.

Introducing the June Stamp Set of the Month, my pick for the stamp and die set I will be showcasing for the month of June.
It's the Rawrsome stamp and die set by Lawn Fawn! For the month of June I thought a set that I could make masculine cards with was just the thing. Of course dinosaurs are for everyone, so I am going to have fun making cards and things for Dad and my girls too.
This is a versatile set even if i's a dinosaur set, you can make cards that do not have a dinosaur on them, like my card today.
This card is inspired by the Pixar short film, I Lava You.
It is my favorite! A story about how the Hawaiian Islands were formed by two love sick volcanoes who finally find each other. You can watch it on YouTube, HERE. Let me know if you needed a tissue!
So, after watching that I am sure you love it, I mean lava it too. And that is why my first card with this stamp set had to be a volcano card.
I had fun coloring in these cuties with my Copic Markers, I am some what of a newbie with Copics and I have to say I think I am making some headway and am pleased with how these turned out, after 3 practice ones that I did not use.
The blended ink background is Distress Oxide ink. I masked off the island and blended the sky and then reversed that and ink blended an island. For a one layer background for my volcanoes. Then I added a top layer, a window, so to speak. The Limeade Splash paper is embossed with the Fiddle Leaf embossing folder by Fun Stampers Journey. I love the tropical leaf feel of this folder. The oval, branches and flower dies are from the Modern Frame die set also by FSJ. For the branches I use Lemon Grass card stock, which is the same card stock I used for the card base. I also love the wave element in the window, giving the card a bit of a 3D feel.
You can watch the making of this card on my YouTube channel. While you are there be sure to subscribe and then click on the bell, then you will be notified every time I post a new video. I post a new video one or two time a week. AND, I am giving this card away. Just like and comment on the video on my YouTube channel and you will be entered to win it.

Thank you so much for watching, be sure to tune in to next week's video to see if you WON this card.
Below I have listed and linked all the products I used to make todays card.
