I am so excited to bring you Part 2 of my SketchBox challenge. For Part 2 I am taking the backgrounds I made in Part 1 (see that video here) and turning them into cards. In Part 1 I used the watercolor paints from the June 2019 SketchBox to paint some watercolor panels. I have 4 backgrounds plus one image that I watercolored that I will be using in today's video. I LOVE how these cards turned out and hope that you like them as well and enjoy watching them be created in this video.
Now let's take a closer look at each of the 4 cards I made.
Card 1
That cow! I do love her! This background was made using the all the watercolors from the SketchBox in wide washes down the watercolor paper panel.
Someone tell me if it is weird to put a sentiment that say Beautiful on a card with a cow.
Card 2
The background for this cowgirl card was made with Deep Yellow, Pale Orange and Burnt Sienna watercolor paints. I randomly dotted the paint on a wet piece of watercolor paper.
And I do have to mention how excited I am with how my watercolored image turned out. I might like this watercoloring thing!
Card 3
So, I am not a gamer, and if you watched the video that was probably very clear. But how fun is this card. I am in love with that galaxy background, they are so much fun to make.
Card 4
This card was the hardest for me. But once I figured out that I needed to warm up that tree background I like it much better. To do that I added some brown to the trees and the ground, much better.
This squirrel is the image that I used the watercolors on for some no line coloring. Not too bad for my first time doing no line coloring with watercolors. I just stamped the image in a light tan color, Oatmeal Cookie, and then painted on the lines, so it looks as if I painted it, instead of it being a stamped image.
Overall I really loved this challenge, using the SketchBox to paint some watercolor background and then turning those into card. I used products I most likely would not have tried on my own and I love how the backgrounds tuned out. Which lead to 4 unique cards that I am also very pleased with.
So, which card is your favorite? Leave me a comment and let me know. I love to connect with you!
